23. Cassie

The weeks that followed Cassie and Kane vanquishing Lyle and then reuniting as a couple were fun.

Fun with a capital F.

Life in a DDlg relationship suited both Cassie and Kane. There were lots of punishments. Plenty of spankings and paddlings dished out for when Cassie’s enthusiasm went too far. Or for when she got tired, and her bratty side came out.

Sometimes even when Cassie was bad on purpose with the sole intention of receiving a punishment.

The sex continued to be great. In fact, it improved each time. As Cassie and Kane got to know their bodies better, it was easier to tune in and hit the right spots at just the right moments.

Cassie loved nothing more than seeing a pumped up and dominant Kane go full-on Daddy Dom mode.

It was a thrill that Cassie suspected would never, ever get old.

From Cassie’s point of view, she had loved being exposed, punished, and taken in the apartment window.

Being on display like that was such a thrill.

The difference between being exposed by Kane and Lyle was obvious. Kane loved her, cared about Cassie’s best interests above all else, and would always respect her.

The way Lyle had exposed Cassie was downright cruel and full of bad intentions.

But Lyle was in the past. The long forgotten past too. They never needed to think about him again. Or even mention his name. He was well and truly history.

And as Kane liked to point out, if you know how it’s very easy to erase history.

Either online or in the real world too.

All in all, everything was going well. Kane was enjoying his work more than ever. The fires were just as frequent and intense. That was never going to change of course.

But Kane felt less need to go for boozy blowouts after work. He was now able to decompress and let the stress out of him by simply returning home to see his Little.

Cassie felt a lot of self-esteem from knowing that she was such a positive influence on Kane. It validated her in a way that she had never experienced before.

Kane even went as far as to explain that the only reason he ever really drank too much or gambled was from a fear of being alone with his thoughts.

Now that he had Cassie to talk to or simply chill with, that instinct was no longer there.

Kane was content with life.

Cassie was too.

Her personal life was better than ever.

Along with her burgeoning relationship with Kane, Cassie was finding herself becoming more and more resilient. She would still see the occasional negative comment about her old comics online, but she was able to brush them off as one person’s opinion.

Instead, Cassie concentrated on the compliments and the constructive comments.

It was a much happier way of seeing the world.

Cassie was slowly but surely freeing herself of her baggage from her teenage years. From now on, mean old stepdads were being consigned to history.

It was all about her one true Daddy now.

But speaking of work, Cassie had initially decided to press ahead with all her unpublished work, including the drafts and scripts that had been temporarily stolen by Lyle.

But after giving it some thought, she decided to go another way.

The comic she had been working on with pencil and paper had really taken off in her imagination.

So much so that she decided to produce a fully physical version of it. Cassie found a really good local printer and produced a hundred copies that she would distribute independently.

It felt great .

Seeing her work like this offered a whole new perspective. Cassie was even considering going fully offline at some point in the future.

Either way, Cassie had options. The most important thing was that she was in control of her destiny. And that evening was certainly a significant part of Cassie’s future.

If only she could find her favorite rainbow-patterned sneakers…

‘Hey, we should think about getting our butts in gear,’ Kane said. ‘You don’t want to be late for your own launch party.’

‘Daddy, I can’t find me sneakers!’ Cassie called back, frustrated that she couldn’t seem to find her preferred footwear.

The launch for Cassie’s new comic was in less than an hour.

Kane had booked a local small bar near them to celebrate the release. All of their friends were going to be in attendance, as well as some figures from well-known mainstream comic publishers.

To say that Cassie was excited would be an understatement.

‘Daddy, I’m a little scared,’ Cassie said. ‘What if no one likes the comic?’

Cassie felt good to say her fear out loud.

Personally, she felt it was her best ever work. But she knew that not everyone might agree. Part of the tension was that it was a comic that had a Daddy and Little as the two main character.

Well, with a bit of a twist.

The Daddy was a firefighting bear stuffie.

The Little was a magical bunny with the power to paint pictures into real life.

Despite the fantastical premise, Cassie still felt it was a risk to bring a Daddy and Little based comic into the world. Based on her previous experience with Lyle, she knew that not everyone had a tolerant attitude toward things they didn’t immediately understand.

‘Don’t worry,’ Kane said, finding Cassie’s shoes and handing them to her. ‘Whatever happens, I’ll be there. So will your friends.’

Cassie nodded.

What Kane said made sense.

‘But, if you’re asking me honestly,’ Kane continued. ‘I think people are going to go wild for it. I really do. You’re an incredibly talented, creative individual. And soon, the whole world will know it.’

‘Thank you, Daddy,’ Cassie said. ‘That was all I needed to hear.’

‘Okay. Good. Shoes on, and let’s move,’ Kane said. ‘I’m proud of you. More than you can ever know. But we haven’t got any more time to dawdle. We need to get our asses in gear.’

Cassie felt like melting into Kane’s arms right there and then.

She knew that Kane meant every word.

And Cassie loved him all the more for it.

‘Woah! This is the best launch I’ve ever been to!’ Katie said, excitedly jumping in the huge ball pit. ‘Seriously, you’ve got a great Daddy!’

Cassie smiled a big, broad smile.

She wasn’t about to disagree with Katie.

Kane had truly exceeded all expectations. The fact that Kane knew the bar owner Kane, a fellow Daddy Dom, must have helped a lot.

Kane had agreed to make some modifications for the launch.

The huge ball pit.

A side-room that was effectively converted into one giant painting and messy playroom.

And a revamped selection of drinks and snacks that included just about every single super-colorful beverage and sweet snack that a Little could ever dream of.

It all helped contribute to what was an all-time amazing atmosphere.

‘Hey, Katie, look over there!’ Cassie said. ‘I think Sydney and Leon might be getting along extremely well.’

Both Cassie and Katie looked over and watched Sydney and Leon chatting away with each other. Both were smiling, laughing, seemingly having a great time.

Based on appearances, it seemed like there was some chemistry popping between them, that was for sure.

And both of them were very much single too.

There was potential there at the very least.

Sydney saw her Little friends staring and quickly broke off the conversation before charging over to the ball pit and diving in headfirst.

Classic Sydney!

Always looking to perform and make the craziest stunt possible.

‘Woah! Even for you that was a wild jump,’ Katie said, laughing as Sydney’s head popped up from beneath the brightly colored balls.

‘So, Leon,’ Cage said, with an unsubtle splash of intrigue in his voice.

‘ Bleurgh !’ Sydney retorted, springing out of the ball pit and sprinting over to grab a juice box.

As the party progressed, Cassie was delighted to receive praise from friends and strangers alike. In fact, it went so well that the entire first print run sold out. That was seriously impressive and way beyond Cassie’s wildest dreams.

But there was more to come.

Way more.

‘Daddy, Daddy!’ Cassie said as she rushed over to Kane. ‘Listen to this!’

Kane arched his eyebrow quizzically.

Leon, Cage, Katie, and Sydney listened intently too.

This sounded like it could be important.

‘I’ve just been speaking to some of the mainstream publishers,’ Cassie said, tripping over her words in sheer excitement. ‘They’re interested in taking the comic on. Like, publishing it with a commercial sized print run. I’d keep creative control too. They said they loved how I was bringing the whole Daddy and Little dynamic to people’s attention. Can you believe it?’

Cassie paused as she waited for Kane’s response.

Kane had a very serious look on his face.

But not for long.

‘You know… if it was anyone else…. maybe I wouldn’t believe it,’ Kane said. ‘But as it’s you, it sounds like exactly what would happen. You deserve this, kid. You’re a star.’

Cassie and Kane embraced.

To the sound of cheers and whoops from their friends, their embrace changed into a brief, but passionate kiss.

Cassie felt a moment of total bliss.

Kane looked deep into her bright blue eyes.

‘As I always say, you can’t hack happiness,’ Kane said, a big cheesy grin on his face. ‘Now, who’s up for some serious fun?’

With that, the gang ran over to the ball pit and threw themselves in with total abandon.

The first print edition of Cassie’s comic had sold out on day one. There would be many more editions to come. And plenty more Daddy and Little stories to tell too.

But one story that would never end would be that of Cassie and her Forever Daddy.

That tale was set to run and run for the rest of time.
