Chapter 8
It had been a few days since Munch pulled up on me at my shop, and I had been thinking about her ever since.
I’d never wanted to kiss anyone as badly as I wanted to kiss her, but I held back.
I was highly attracted to her, but the thing that gave me pause was her age.
There was a six-year age gap between us, and I didn’t go for women that young.
Munch was the exception, though, because she didn’t even come off as so young.
Drizzle acted younger than Munch did if I kept it real with myself.
The way Drizzle acted didn’t really bother me, because I wasn’t trying to take her seriously.
Munch, on the other hand, I could see shit building with us for real, and it scared me a little.
I knew what love looked like because I witnessed my father properly love my mother, but I had never experienced it for myself.
I knew if given the opportunity, I could treat Munch well, but I wasn’t even sure if that was something she wanted.
I found myself wanting to be in her presence as much as I could; that was why I sat at the bar more than usual.
I called her sometimes when I was at my shop and talked to her between clients.
We talked about everything. She opened up about previous relationships and how her brother would run them off if he thought they weren’t good enough for her.
If I could have, I would shake his hand, because if he hadn’t done that, she might not have been single.
The more I spent time with her, the more I thought about settling down. I could see her riding on the back of my bike. I saw shit with her that I had never pictured before.
I knew she came to the club to figure out what really happened to her brother, and I didn’t blame her.
Rameek’s death never sat right with me either.
As long as Munch didn’t think I did it, I could help her.
I also knew Rico, Tech, or Slider didn’t have anything to do with it either.
I really didn’t think anyone in the Vipers did, but something was weird about it.
I was sure, one day, the truth would come to light.
Drizzle couldn’t wait to call me and tell me what Munch did, like I was supposed to do something about it.
She shouldn’t have continued fucking with her.
In my opinion, she got what she deserved.
Little did Drizzle know, just hearing about and picturing it made my dick hard.
Probably everything Munch did made me hard.
I knew Drizzle got mad when I laughed, but I couldn’t help it.
I told her a long time ago to stop bothering people who wasn’t thinking about her.
As I thought about it, I realized Drizzle was a damn bully, but she only bothered women who she thought wouldn’t say anything back.
Most of the time, they didn’t, but she fucked around and found out with Munch.
Drizzle had stayed away from the club since the incident, but I knew she would return sooner or later.
I only had a couple of clients for the day because the club had a meeting scheduled. I wondered if Beast would show up because he still moved funny, and I couldn’t get hold of him to find out what was up with him.
After my last client, I cleaned up the room and headed out. I’d hired a good manager, so I didn’t have to be at the shop unless I was doing tattoos.
The sun beamed down as I walked toward my bike. My engine roared when I turned the key. I sat on the seat for a second to put my bag on my back and get my music right. Once I was ready, I took off toward the clubhouse.
When I arrived, I parked in the front and headed inside. Weed smoke filled the air since some of the members liked to smoke. I did occasionally, but it wasn’t a necessity.
Munch and I locked eyes when she looked in my direction. Everyone waited for me, but I had to speak to her first.
“What’s up, Munch? Everything good around here?”
She smiled, and my heart jumped. “Yes. Today was great.” She leaned on the bar and whispered, “Should I leave?”
I could feel multiple eyes watching our interaction, but I didn’t pay them any attention. The meeting would start whenever I was ready for it to start.
“Nah, I want you to stay. See how we do shit around here.”
“Um, okay. Do you want something to drink before you start?”
“I’m good, thanks.” I smiled and winked. “If you feel more comfortable, you can stay over here. It’s up to you.”
Munch had gotten familiar with everyone, but I knew she liked to play the background as much as possible since she wasn’t a member.
“Aight, everyone. Let’s get down to business,” I said as I took the seat at the front of the room.
Whenever we had a meeting, the tables and chairs were moved around to resemble a meeting room instead of a bar.
The meeting started with Isis going over our financials, as far as the money we raised for our upcoming fundraiser.
“That’s good. Make sure to set up a haircutting station for the boys, and something for the girls as well,” I told her.
She used her iPad to take notes.
“Fred has informed me that his load has been lighter, so either y’all are taking care of your bikes, or you ain’t checking them. Make sure you are getting the proper service work done because we don’t want anyone breaking down in the middle of a long ride if it could be prevented.”
Fred was our in-house mechanic. He and his team made sure our bikes ran the way they were supposed to at all times. He’d been with the Vipers for a while, but he typically didn’t ride with us. I knew how to fix some things, as well as Rico, Slider, and a couple of the other members.
“Speaking of rides, do we have our next trip mapped out?” I asked as I turned toward Rico.
“We do, but I found out Seventh Street is going to be closed that day, and I haven’t figured out an alternate route yet.”
I saw Munch come from behind the bar and walk toward us.
“If I could suggest something, maybe instead of going from Main to Seventh, how about taking Jefferson to Wilson to the highway. That would help going through some of the residential streets.” She pushed her glasses up when she was done talking and looked down at the floor.
Rico, Tech, and Slider looked at me with smirks, while Carmen and Isis wore smiles.
Munch’s suggestion was good, but it was nothing to be all smiley over.
The five of them acted like it was more than what it was.
They all knew me well and knew I started to develop feelings for Munch too.
I also knew Carmen and Isis had befriended her, but I wasn’t sure how much of me they discussed.
I was sure everyone was waiting for me to say something, but for a second, I was lost in the way Munch looked.
Her dark jeans hugged her small curves. She had on a Vipers T-shirt, and the thought of her wearing nothing but my vest had my dick pushing against my boxers.
Her braids were pulled back, highlighting her pretty ass face.
I watched her thin neck when she swallowed, and I wanted to wrap my hand around it while I fucked her.
Munch didn’t know how much she had me in a chokehold just by being in her presence. I wondered if she was as innocent as she looked.
I cleared my throat and focused on the meeting.
“Yeah, I think that’s a good idea. Rico, check out the route to make sure it’s good. Thanks, Munch.”
She smiled, then went back around the bar. I kept my eyes on her as she got a glass of water. I didn’t care about the rest of the meeting, because I was anxious to get to Munch. Just her saying a few words, I realized how much I missed the sound of her voice.
The meeting lasted for another hour, then we moved on to how we always finished our meetings.
“Y’all know what time it is,” I said as I stood.
Cheers and hand slaps echoed around the room. I looked over at Munch and gestured for her to come to me.
Everyone else started to file outside to get ready.
“Hey, I’m sorry if I overstepped.”
She slightly jumped when I put my hands on her waist.
“Not at all. Your suggestion was good. I might have to have you attend more meetings.”
Munch shook her head, and her braids swayed.
“No, I’m fine just serving drinks. What was everyone so excited about?”
“After every meeting, we do a few races. You want to check it out?”
Her eyes lit up, but she tried to play it off.
“I would love to.”
I grabbed her hand, then led her outside.
Slider was the first one to spot us. “Aww shit. Munch, you gonna race?” He laughed, and I noticed Munch blush.
My free hand clenched into a fist when Slider smiled at her. His ass thought he was slick.
“Not at all. I’m just here to watch,” she told him.
“You’re in for a treat,” Isis said as she walked toward us. She looked down at our hands and smiled. She didn’t comment on it, but I knew she would have something to say sooner or later.
Tay and Lamont were the first two up. They had been in the Vipers for the last few years, and they loved racing, especially against each other. They were constantly trying to outdo the other. They were both wild cards, but I trusted them as much as I did Tech, Rico, and Slider.
They revved their engines, sending clouds of smoke into the air. I looked down at Munch as she stood next to me. Her eyes sparkled as she looked on.
A few seconds later, the flag was lowered, and they took off. Sometimes, we went to other areas to race other clubs, but this was something just to do after meetings. It was just for the Vipers.
Everybody moved to the street to see who would win. Munch shouted and clapped when Tay reached the finish line first.
“Why you cheering for another nigga, Munch?”
She looked at me with surprise in her eyes. “Why wouldn’t I? He won, right?”
“He did, but I don’t think I like you getting excited by the next man.”
Munch stepped back a little and looked up at me. With a sneaky grin, she looked around then asked, “You jealous, Kane?”
Jealousy was a foreign term to me because I’d never been jealous of another person walking this Earth, and I felt it twice in one night. Seeing Munch react like that made my chest burn.
When I didn’t say anything, Munch stepped closer to me. “You are jealous, Kane. Tay is cool, but I’m not interested in him.”
That confirmation made me feel better. I didn’t want to have to kick Tay out for Munch having a crush on him.
“Good to know. Another race is about to start,” I informed her. I didn’t want to elaborate any further about the feelings I had.
The next two guys took off, and Munch watched for a minute. The excitement still danced in her eyes.
I wasn’t sure how or when, but Munch ended up in front of me, with her body against mine. She didn’t put all her weight on me; in fact, I wasn’t sure if she was aware of how close we were.
Munch turned her head and looked up. “Do you ever race?”
I licked my bottom lip as I looked into her excited, brown eyes.
“I used to. I stopped a while ago. I got tired of taking their money.”
“I would have loved to see it.”
Our eyes were locked on each other’s, and when she licked her lips, I couldn’t help but place my hand in the front of her neck.
The fact that she didn’t even flinch told me everything I needed to know about her.
I felt her pulse race through the vein in her neck, as my heart thumped in my chest. I didn’t kiss.
I damn sure didn’t show any affection in public, but Munch had me out of my comfort zone.
Her eyes darted between my eyes and my lips. She wanted this just as much as me. To put us both out of our misery, I pulled her close and kissed her. My other hand was draped around her waist.
I slipped my tongue into her mouth, eager to taste her. Her tongue met mine as she moaned. The race was forgotten about. Everyone around us was forgotten about. It was just her and me in the moment.
When I pulled away, Munch’s chest heaved up and down. I pecked her lips one more time. She didn’t say anything, but I didn’t need her to. Seeing her flustered was enough for me.
The only thing on my mind was doing that shit again.
