Chapter 10
I found myself thinking about Munch more than I should have been.
When I wasn’t around her, I wanted to talk to her.
When she was in my presence, I didn’t want to let her leave.
The person who I’d become was different from the way I had been practically my whole life.
I wasn’t mad at it either. Being around Munch had me feeling lighter.
I hadn’t admitted my feelings to her, but I was sure she had to think something.
I mean, I had her on my bike, and there wasn’t another woman on Earth who could have said the same thing.
I didn’t know if Munch even knew how big of a deal that was.
It took Drizzle a few days to come back after Munch smashed her shit, but she’d been hanging around more frequently.
I hadn’t fucked with her in a minute, though.
I wasn’t sure where things would go with Munch and me, but I knew I didn’t want shit else from Drizzle.
Even if nothing happened with Munch, I was done with Drizzle.
She wanted things from me that I wouldn’t be able to give her.
I knew I shouldn’t have fucked with Drizzle in the first place, since she’d already fucked with at least three other niggas in the club before I even touched her.
It was time for our monthly dinner, and I knew Drizzle wouldn’t miss it unless she had somewhere else to go.
I think since she’d come around, she’d only missed a handful of dinners.
Our shit wasn’t open to the public, but we did have a few people who came through that weren’t club members.
Plus, Drizzle technically worked for us, so she had a standing invite.
We hadn’t needed her since Munch had been there, though.
Speaking of Munch, I felt some type of way that I hadn’t been able to talk to her the whole day.
She volunteered to help Isis and Carmen with dinner.
From what she told me, she had planned on baking some desserts.
I was just happy to hear that she wanted to bake since she said she hadn’t since her brother died.
I was never the type to cupcake on the phone, but Munch had me talking to her while I did damn near anything.
It was nothing now for me to sit on my couch and talk to her about shit she saw on social media or a movie she watched.
I loved the sound of her sweet, honeyed voice, so I didn’t give a fuck what she talked about, as long as she talked.
She was happier than she had been since she first came around, but I caught her in her feelings sometimes.
It was normal, though, because I still had my moments, thinking about my dad.
I learned that losing a loved one wasn’t something you just got over; you just learned how to function from one day to the next. It was a process.
I spent the morning having breakfast with my mother, then I had a few clients.
I had a piece that took over two hours. I made him the last one of the day because I wanted time to go home and change before dinner.
After I showered and changed my clothes, I headed out of my place and went to the clubhouse.
As soon as I parked my bike in front, the scent of food hit me. The door was open since it had been an unseasonably warm day, and laughter spilled out onto the sidewalk.
The minute I walked through the door, I heard Slider talking shit as he and Tech shot pool. I shook my head and walked over to them.
“About time you got here,” Slider said as we slapped hands.
“I had a few clients today.” I turned toward Tech and gave him dap. “You over here taking this man’s money,” I joked while I pointed at Slider.
Slider sucked his teeth, then lined up for his next shop.
I looked around in search of Munch, but I didn’t see her. I tried to be discreet, but I knew Tech’s observant ass would catch me.
“I think she went in the back with Carmen for something.” He smirked.
“You don’t even know who I’m looking for.”
They both cut their eyes at me.
“Who are you fooling, K?” Slider asked. “Everyone knows you like Raina. Even Drizzle.” He chortled.
I looked up when I heard voices. My heart rate increased and my dick jumped when I laid eyes on Munch. She wore black leggings with sneakers and a blue Vipers shirt. I noticed Carmen and Isis wore the same thing, but they didn’t look as good as Munch.
“Ladies,” I spoke when they got closer.
The three of them responded with a “hi” at the same time. Before Munch could walk away, I grabbed her elbow.
“I ain’t seen you all day, and you just gonna walk away?”
She looked around the room before she looked back at me.
“I spoke to you, Kane. I don’t want to make your groupies upset.” She looked toward the door and smirked when Drizzle came in with her eyes laser focused on Munch and me.
“Don’t play with me, Munch.” I rested my hands on her waist and pulled her close, not to hug her, but to show her and everyone else in here that I was feeling her. “I don’t give a fuck about none of them.”
“Do they know that?” She crossed her arms over her chest.
“I never lied to anyone, but I’ll make shit known if need be. You tell me how to move, and I’m moving, baby.”
I heard Slider and Tech talking about me from the side, but I didn’t pay them any attention. I knew I was simping behind Munch, and I hadn’t even had the pussy yet.
I pulled her closer and sniffed her neck. “You smell so fucking good.” I kissed her neck, then pulled back some.
“Thank you. I have to go finish setting up so we can eat.”
“You just ignore what I said?”
“I’m not ignoring you, Kane. Now is not the time to talk about this.” She looked around the room again.
Multiple people looked in our direction.
Some sported smiles, and some looked like they couldn’t care less, so they went back to whatever they were doing.
Drizzle and her homegirls looked like the room stunk.
It was funny that they had this dislike for Munch, but I fucked all three of them.
They should have had that energy for each other.
“Aight. I’ll let you go for now.” I kissed the side of her mouth, then released her.
She blushed, then went to join Carmen and Isis behind the bar. They asked her questions the minute she got close enough.
I shook my head, then joined Slider and Tech. I wasn’t sure where Rico was, but I knew he would make it at some point.
“I should have taken a picture of that whole scene,” Slider said. “I mean, her little ass got the womanizer out here showing affection and shit in front of everyone. She got the get stank crew hating,” he joked. “Love to see it.”
“What’s going on with y’all?” Tech asked.
“First of all, I never was a womanizer,” I said to Slider, and he smirked. “And to answer your question.” I focused on Tech. “Shit, I don’t know, but I’m feeling her, for real. And before you ask, I know she’s younger than me, but she doesn’t act like it. I’m trying to see where shit go for real.”
The two of them looked at each other, then back at me.
“I can’t believe it, but I’m happy you decided to take someone seriously. She seems like a good look for you. At least from what I’ve seen,” Tech said.
I glanced at Munch. She had her head thrown back as she laughed at something one of the girls said. I could see her being a permanent fixture around the clubhouse, and not just as the bartender.
A few minutes later, Isis let us know it was time to eat. Everyone sat at the tables that were added for this occasion, and after someone blessed the food, we dug in.
Different conversations were had while everyone ate. The girls made sure everyone had what they needed. Munch opened up to more people than she did when she first came. Multiple people liked her being the bartender. They said she didn’t give them attitude like Drizzle did.
I watched Munch as she made drinks for people and talked to almost everyone. I noticed she hadn’t eaten, and I didn’t like that.
“Munch, come eat.” It wasn’t a question. She wasn’t going to give anyone else shit else until she ate something. That was another thing that was new for me. I didn’t give a fuck if a chick ate or not, but Munch wasn’t a random chick.
When Munch got close to me, I pulled her onto my lap, causing her to squeal.
“Kane, what are you doing?” she asked through gritted teeth. She looked around the room as her cheeks reddened.
“I’m making sure you eat.” I scooped some potatoes onto my fork and held it to her mouth.
I heard Drizzle suck her teeth, but as long as she didn’t say anything, I would ignore her.
“I’m sure she could feed herself,” Drizzle said.
Munch finished chewing the food in her mouth, then leaned forward and pushed her glasses up.
“How’s your nose, Sizzler?”
I let out a low chuckle at the name.
“You only got that off because I wasn’t paying attention,” Drizzle shot back.
“Okay,” Munch responded, then leaned back so I could feed her some more.
I guessed Drizzle didn’t like Munch brushing her off. She said, “I mean, we have nothing but space right now.”
Munch chuckled, but I knew shit wasn’t funny to her. She tried to get up, but I tightened my grip on her waist.
“I don’t bother you, so I don’t know why you insist on bothering me,” Munch said as she leaned forward again.
Everyone had stopped talking to watch the interaction.
Drizzle stood up, and Munch tried to again, but I wouldn’t let her.
“Because you come in here and act like you are all that.”
“Bitch!” Munch wiggled to get out of my grasp, but I just held her tighter.
I grabbed her chin and turned her toward me.
“Don’t entertain her, baby.” I pecked her lips. “She’s not important. And damn sure not worth you fighting.” I pecked her lips.
“Are you serious right now?” Drizzle screamed.
“Oh, she big mad now,” Slider joked.
Multiple people laughed at his silly ass.
Without taking my eyes off Munch, I addressed Drizzle.
