Chapter Nine

Sorcha

When the alarm went off, Sorcha groaned. At 6 am, it was still dark outside and she wasn't ready to get up yet, despite her usual early wake-up.

“Time to rise and shine, Sweetheart,” Finley said, kissing the back of her neck.

“I know, I just don't wanna,” she grumbled.

Zaine chuckled. “Tough, Angel. We've got places to be.”

“Fine, I'm up,” she said, sitting up. “Too bad the shower’s not big enough for three,” she added cheekily.

“Minx,” Zaine said and tickled her.

She laughed and leaned over and kissed him. Then she kissed Finley. “I call dibs on the shower,” she said and crawled out of bed.

The hot water eased achy muscles and by the time she got out, she was ready to face the day. While Finley jumped in the shower, she got dressed. Then it was Zaine’s turn.

“We'll get breakfast after we go to Soulstone,” Zaine said as they packed up. Sorcha had ordered a car while Zaine was in the shower and it would be there soon.

“Sounds like a plan,” Finley said. He pulled Sorcha into his arms and kissed her. “Despite our reason for being here, I've enjoyed our little trip.”

“So have I,” she replied. She grabbed her bag and they headed downstairs to check out.

They arrived at The Soulstone a few minutes after it opened and stepped inside.

“Good morn,” Nova said when they entered.

“Good morn,” Sorcha replied. “Please tell me you have the wormwood,” she said.

“Och A’course I do. I said I would,” Nova replied.

“Thank Goddess,” Sorcha said.

Nova set a small bag on the counter and Sorcha paid for it. She also put in an order for more to be shipped. “Pleasure doing business with you,” Nova told her. “I'll get your order shipped this week.”

“Thank you. It was nice to put a face to the name,” Sorcha said, taking the bag and storing it in her overnight bag.

“Have a safe flight home,” Nova told them and they left.

They found a little cafe that served breakfast and grabbed a bite to eat. Then they wandered around Glasgow for a couple of hours.

“We should be getting to the airport to get checked in,” Zaine said.

“And our little vacation is over,” Sorcha said with a sigh.

“Finley kissed her temple. “It was fun while it lasted.”

“Yeah, it was. We made some great memories,” Sorcha replied.

“That we did, Angel,” Zaine put in. They caught a cab to the airport, and soon they were seated at their gate waiting for their flight to be called.

They had a brief layover in London, then their ten-hour flight home.

“The time difference between Scotland and home is crazy,” Sorcha said as they disembarked to darkness. It was the middle of the night in Briar Glen.

“Yeah it is,” Finley agreed. “Zaine, I'll drop you off first,” he added.

“Sounds good. I'm going to miss sleeping with our girl, but I'm ready to hit the sack,” Zaine replied.

“I know what you mean, I'm going to miss it too,” Finley replied as they reached the SUV.

“I'm going to miss sleeping between the two of you. We should definitely do it again sometime soon,” Sorcha said.

When they got to Zaine’s house, he hopped out and opened Sorcha’s door. He leaned in and kissed her. “Sweet dreams, Angel. Dream of me,” he told her.

“Oh, I will,” she replied and caressed his cheek. “I'll text you in the morning after I get up,” she promised.

“You better, or I'll have to turn that sweet ass red,” he told her.

“Oh, promises, promises,” she replied.

Zaine laughed. “You're perfect, Angel. Get our girl home safe,” he told Finley.

“Will do,” Finley replied.

Zaine stepped back, closed the door, and Sorcha waved as they drove off. She sighed softly.

“What was that sigh for, Sweetheart?” Finley asked.

“I didn't want to leave,” she confessed. “I wish we could all sleep together every night.”

“So do I, Sweetheart,” he told her. “But that would require us all living together.”

“Would that be such a bad thing?” she asked.

He was quiet a moment before he finally said, “No, it wouldn't.”

“It's something to think about,” Sorcha said as they pulled up in front of her shop.

“It is,” he agreed. “Let me walk you up,” he said, getting out and going around to help her out.

When they reached the landing, he pulled her into his arms, lowered his mouth to hers, and kissed her. “Sleep well, Sweetheart,” he told her. “Dream of me, too.”

“I definitely will. It'll be sexy dreams with you and Zaine devouring me,” she replied. “I'll be at the bakery by 6 so I can whip up the counterspell for you,” she told him.

?“I'll see you by 6:30 then,” he told her. He gave her one last kiss and left.

Sorcha entered her apartment and went right to Zen’s cage. “Hi, baby. I missed you,” she told him, petting him. He hooted at her as if to say he'd missed her too.

She spent several minutes with him before she closed his cage and went to her bedroom, stripped, and crawled into bed. She checked her phone and smiled at the message from Zaine.

Hotstuff: My bed is empty without you

Me: I wish I was there too

Hotstuff: Maybe we should rectify that soon

Me: What do you have in mind?

Hotstuff: Move you out of that tiny apartment you live in, and into my house

She stared at her phone. Was he serious?

Me: Are you asking me to move in with you? Don't you think it's a bit sudden?

Hotstuff: When you know, you know. I want you with me, Angel

She thought about it, really thought about it. Maybe it was crazy, but…

Me: Okay. At least then I'll have one of my guys with me every night

Hotstuff: Then we just need to work on Finley. I'll clear a wall in the living room for Zen's cage

Me: Yes, we'll have to work on Finley. I'll get boxes tomorrow to start packing

Hotstuff: Good girl. Let me know when you start and I'll come help

Me: I plan on starting tomorrow evening after I close the shop

Hotstuff: Then I'll bring dinner. Get some sleep, Angel

Me: See you tomorrow then. Goodnight Babe

She started to put her phone on the charger when another text came through, this one from Finley.

Sexy: I miss having you curled up against me

Me: I miss being there. Zaine and I were just talking. He asked me to move in with him, and I said yes

Sexy: I'm envious, he'll get to have you every night

Me: You could move in with us and have me every night, too

Sexy: Yeah, right. Like he'd want me in his space all the time

Me: Working on getting you to move in too was his suggestion

She watched the dots appear and disappear and wondered what he was thinking.

Sexy: Well shit. Now you've given me a lot to think about, Sweetheart. I like my apartment, but the idea of getting to curl around you every night is appealing

Me: No pressure, Love. Take all the time you need. Just know that Zaine and I both want you there

Sexy: Okay Sweetheart. Get some sleep. I'll see you in a few hours

Me: Okay. Goodnight

She put her phone on the charger, grabbed the stuffed owl she slept with, and curled up on her side. She wished she was curled up with her men, but at least she would have Zaine soon.
