Chapter 15 #5

His fingers had finally reached the top of her legs and his warm, possessive hand closed over her mound. It did not take Katherine long to understand that she would indeed have no choice. Before long she would scream his name.

“Touch me.”

Suddenly she was burning. She wanted to feel the delicious strokes over her sensitive flesh, she wanted the release he had gifted her with on their second night together.

She already knew it would be a hundred times more intense, the most meaningful moment she had ever shared with anyone, because this time they would both know he was pleasuring her, not a stranger, not his supposed wife, but her, the woman he loved.

“Yes, cariad, I will touch you. Open for me.”

Her eyes fluttered when delicious heat covered her folds. This was it. She moaned when Siaspar circled her entrance in the delicious caress she remembered but when he eased a finger inside her heat, her eyes flew open in shock.

This was not something he had done to her on the two occasions he had made love to her. He had never pushed past the ring of muscles guarding her sheath—not with his finger at least. She whimpered when he withdrew it out slowly and took her mouth at the same time in a passionate kiss.

More careful, spine-tingling thrusts followed, and then a second finger joined the first. The moves became faster, building up her pleasure with dizzying speed. How did he know what to do? What felt best to her? If he carried on like this, it would not be long before she erupted.

“Is this what your mysterious suitor did to you?” Siaspar purred, speaking with his mouth at her throat, adding more sensation to her already tingling body. “When you imagined taking him to the clearing?”

“No. In my imagination we only kissed. I never thought that anyone could— Ah…”

She could not finish her sentence. Siaspar’s movements had become more insistent, almost too intense to withstand. He lifted himself onto one elbow.

“Look at me, Catrin.”

There was such fire in his eyes when she turned to face him that she bit her bottom lip. Then the intensity became too much for her to withstand. Eyes closed, she buried her face in his chest. Her fists closed on his tunic.

“Oh, Lord!” She exhaled, fighting the sensations. This was going to kill her.

“Yes, dyna ni,” he murmured in her hair. “That’s it, Catrin. You’re so close. Let go, come for me.”

“Siaspar!”

His name escaped her lips the moment her body melted into in a black pool of stars. It lasted for a long, soul-wrenching moment.

Siaspar stroked her until the storm inside her quieted and finally, she was able to look at him again.

Slowly, he withdrew his fingers from her quivering body.

They were glistening, and to Katherine’s shock, he brought them to his mouth to suck them clean.

The sight was so erotic she had to press her palm flat over her folds to contain the tingles that had started there.

“Mm. So good,” he purred. “Next time I will get that delicious taste straight between your legs.”

That wicked promise was enough to make her shiver. Their gazes held for a long, desire-filled moment.

Do not ask him to do it now, or to take you, Katherine told herself sternly. It would not take much for his control to snap but he doesn’t want to make love to you here, he’s already told you.

There was, however, something she had to ask. She could feel against her thigh the proof that his body was still taut with need. He had seen to her pleasure but had not taken his own. “Don’t you want me to—”

“No. This was for me as much as for you. It was beautiful. Enough for now.”

“I love you.”

His eyes twinkled. “Does that mean you will allow me to court you once I am free of Lady Malpas?”

“Yes. I suppose so.”

She couldn’t help a giggle at the ridiculous question. Had he really doubted her? She was lying under him, with her legs splayed, and her taste was on his tongue.

“And will you marry me as soon as it’s possible?”

“Yes. Oh… yes!” Katherine could not imagine ever letting him go.

“Good, because that is actually why I came here to England, to have my marriage annulled,” he told her slowly, letting his hand travel up and down her arm.

Katherine wished she could feel his hand on her skin rather than on the rough wool of the dress.

“I told you I had another reason for setting off on this journey, one other than to allow you to see your family. I mean to get rid of Lady Malpas once and for all, and the least I could do was to escort her back home safely.”

That was Siaspar. Always the honorable man, even to a wife he loathed, even to the woman who had almost killed him. Katherine smiled. That honorable, generous man would soon be hers.

“She has no idea?”

“No, even if I suspect she will not raise any objections. I will tell her my decision tomorrow.”

“But… How are you going to free yourself of her?” she asked, slightly breathless at the thought that before long they would be free to be together. It seemed too good to be true.

Siaspar’s perfect mouth stretched into a smile.

“Why, by telling the bishop that the marriage was never consummated of course.”
