Bogan - Uncouth/uncultured person

Bottle-O - Bottle shop where alcohol is sold

Brand spanker - Something that is brand new

Brekky - Breakfast

Brickie - Bricklayer

Bubbler – Water fountain

Buckley’s Chance - Little chance

Bugger - Something annoying

Buggered - Exhausted

Chippie - A carpenter

Chock-a-block - Really full/busy

Chook - Chicken

Chrissy - Christmas

Ciggy/dart/durry - Cigarette

Copper - Police officer

Cop shop - Police station

Crook - Sick/unwell

Cuppa - A cup of tea or coffee

Devo - Devastated

Dunny - Toilet

Eggs benny - Egg benedict

Fire engine - Raspberry lemonade, usually served at a pub in a schooner with sprite and raspberry syrup

Flanno - Flannel shirt

Footy - Football, typically AFL or Rugby

Garbo - Garbage truck driver

Goon - Cheap boxed wine

Mozzie - Mosquito

Occa - Heavy Australian-ness, usually referring to an accent

Pineapples - 50-dollar bills

Root - Sex

Rubbish bin - Trash can

Servo - Service station, where you go to get fuel for the car

Smoko - A morning or afternoon work break, usually to eat and/or have a cigarette

Sparkie - Electrician

Stubby - Can of beer

Thongs – Flip-flops (and underwear ;) )

Togs - Swimwear

Tradie - A tradesperson

Ute - Pick-up truck/utility vehicle

Woop woop - Really far away

Vaso - Vasoline
