28. Chapter 25
Mari
A ll thoughts floated away from me when his mouth landed on mine.
The kiss was rough, needy, and torturous.
My hands roamed Chance’s chest, his shoulders, his arms—anywhere I could reach.
He bent down slightly, dropping his hands from my face.
One wrapped around my waist and tugged me closer.
A second later, the other tangled in my hair.
With a teasing tug, I opened my mouth for him.
His tongue swept inside, lashing and ravishing mine.
A traitorous groan slipped from the back of my throat, which was met with a gruff moan of his own. Then we were moving.
He pushed us back into the nearby wall, avoiding the heavy leather bags hanging nearby.
The hand that was in my hair caught the wall before my head could with a thud, the other hand trapping my hip as he leaned over me.
I couldn’t see anything outside of his towering, muscular frame.
That hot mouth found my neck and peppered it with frantic kisses.
His usual cologne and mint flooded every sense, mixed with the salt lingering on his sweat-slicked skin.
“This doesn’t change that you were a total … Oh .” Any train of thought went off the rails when his teeth skimmed my skin, sucking and nibbling along my jaw.
“You were saying, Sunny baby?” he murmured in my ear before taking the lobe in between his teeth.
“Don’t call me … that,” I struggled.
Abandoning my hip, his hand found my breast. He palmed it, my nipple instantly pebbling at the touch.
“Don’t call you what?” He smirked before flicking a finger over the sensitive tip.
Do not tell me this man is going to make me come without even taking my clothes off .
“T-that,” I tried, already panting.
“Tell me what, Sunny baby, and I’ll stop.” Another teasing flick, another breathy moan.
“I … I …” I tried, desperately tried. Any chance of success went out the fucking window when he exposed my aching, heavy breasts with one swift tug of my tank top.
“Fuck,” Chance groaned, driving his hips into me and sealing his mouth over mine again. “This is all that’s been on my mind the last two goddamn weeks.”
“Are you gonna do something about it then?” I demanded, barely.
It was more like a pathetic excuse of a demand.
That cocky, arrogant, sexy as fuck smirk lifted onto his face. “My, my, Sunny baby. Do you want me to do something about it?” That teasing finger traced a line up the side of my neck before the whole hand wrapped around my throat. “Look at me.”
I dragged my eyes up from where our bodies met to find his.
I knew how to swim—almost every Australian child learned. But I was fucking drowning in the ocean in his eyes. A frenzied storm swirled, both hot and cold, both night and day, both lust and need.
“Tell me, Sunny baby.” The thumb that was pressed into the side of my neck moved, tracing over my bottom lip. “Tell me what you want.”
There was a warm, electrifying touch between my legs before the button of my shorts was jerking open. A mocking finger probed the top of my underwear, running along the smooth fabric. I mentally pat two-hours-ago Mari on the back for deciding she needed to wear nice panties today.
“Do you want me on my knees? I’ll gladly make you come using just my tongue, right here on these mats.”
I swear I stopped breathing. Every single cell on and in my body ached in anticipation as he continued to tease and tug at my underwear.
“Do you want to be on your knees, Sunny baby?” he teased. “Do you want to be on your knees, so I can take your mouth before I take all of you?”
A breathy chuckle fanned my face as he gently snapped back the underwear elastic he had been toying with.
“Should we move this to the office? I’d bend you over the couch, take you hard and fast for being so eager.” Just as he finished his sentence, he dipped a finger between my folds. My knees buckled, but he was already there, holding me upright.
“You call the shots though, Sunny baby. Because once I start, I don’t give a fuck who walks through those doors. I won’t stop.”
As if on cue, the most cold-shower-voice to ever exist called out through the gym. “Yo, Yo! Lynnie?! Rio?! Where you at?”
Chance sighed in annoyance. Shoulders as rigid as rocks, he reluctantly stepped away from me. He brought his finger, the one that had been so fucking close to being inside of me, to his lips and sucked it from bottom to top.
“Cover up, will you?” he growled, pointedly glancing at my still exposed chest and undone shorts.
“Shit!” I hissed before tucking the girls back away. How the hell did he free them in one tug?
“Ah! My friends!” JJ sang as he walked around the corner, just in time for me to do my shorts up. I folded my arms over my chest, knowing my face was still flushed. I could still feel Chance’s lips on mine, the swelling he’d left behind.
“How are we?” he asked, slinging an arm around Chance’s shoulder with a big, dopey grin on his face.
“Sunny was just yelling at me about hitting the bag bare-knuckle.” Chance threw me straight under the bus.
“I was not—”
Chance silenced me with a look that said, ‘ Do you want JJ to know I was ten seconds away from fucking you against said bag? ’.
“I was just … protecting an asset.”
“Aw, Lynnie. You big softie.” JJ waved a hand and let go of Chance, moving over to ruffle my hair. I swatted his hand away before turning on my heel to leave.
“So, did you give Baltis your answer?” JJ asked hesitantly.
It was that hesitation and my blatant curiosity, that had me stopping in my tracks. “Who’s Baltis?” I asked.
“My manager,” Chance replied, shooting JJ a look that had him wincing.
“What was the answer for?”
“He offered me a fight.” Chance shrugged his shoulders.
“Pfft, not just ‘ a fight ’,” JJ mimicked. “The fight. The fight of all fights. A real history-maker.”
“Dude, shut up,” Chance scolded.
“I don’t understand what there is to shut up about, man. It’s the dream . Home stadium. Title shot. What have you got to lose?” JJ rambled.
Those forget-me-not eyes scanned my face, then my body. He huffed an apparently bored breath before shaking his head.
“You’re right. I have nothing to lose,” he replied, turning away from us and heading towards his gear bag.
“So you’re gonna call him?!” JJ squeaked, trying his best to contain the excitement that was clearly vibrating inside of him.
“Yeah, mate,” he said, picking up his phone.
JJ bounced from foot to foot in anticipation as Chance pressed his phone to his ear.
I couldn’t for the life of me understand what all of this hesitation and tension was about. A title shot? In his home stadium? That was the best circumstances possible. No travel days, no jet lag, no paying for the flights of your entire team.
“Baltis, it’s Chance.” He stared at the heavy bag that was still stained with his blood as he said, “I’m in.”
