KEY TO THE EMPIRE

KEY TO THE EMPIRE

By Dymond Sarai

CHAPTER 1

“A Milli, A Milli” is all you hear as I’m flying down Tenth Street going to my house to get this play. I passed up my sister trying to flag me down, but I was in a rush to get this money. We were going out for my cousin’s birthday, and I still had to go to the mall and buy me an outfit.

I pulled up at my house and saw a car I didn’t recognize, but I was so focused on my plans that I overlooked it. I told my kids to stay in the car and that I’d be right back.

I got out to go in the house and heard a door close, so I looked back—and I’ll be damned. It was the fucking police!

I had been set up!

I tried to run in the house so I could grab the dope and flush it. As I was putting the key in the door, I heard, “Freeze!”

In my mind, I was thinking, Fuck these dicks. I need to get in here and flush this shit.

As I got the door open, they started running up the stairs. I couldn’t even get the door closed before they came bum-rushing in.

Fuck. It was over.
