Chapter Fifty-Four
Quinn - Present Day
“Are you sure you want to come with me?” I ask Bones.
“Of course I do. What kind of a stupid question is that?”
“The question from someone who knows how hard you’ve worked for your career and doesn’t want you to implode your entire world for me.”
“Too fucking late for that, my little magpie. I’m coming to help, and I’m going to enjoy every fucking second. I better get at least one little stab.”
“I fear I’ve swapped one lot of sadists for another.” I laugh.
“Yeah, but we’re so much more fun.” Lulu winks as she walks through the door. “Let’s get going, bitches!
Eric and Millie have been unconscious in the corner of his garage for the last few hours, but we woke them up about twenty minutes ago. It’s safe to say Bones is in his element.
“You see, Eric, I'm a nice guy. An observer, if you will.
Very rarely am I confrontational. But when it comes to my little magpie, a beast is summoned, and he's out of my control.
Before Quinn, I'd never met he who lurks inside of me, but now, I'm ready for him to be unleashed.
Every hair on your head is at risk; every cell in your being should be alight with fear, because when it comes to my Magpie, there're no lengths I won't go to to guarantee her safety. Unfortunately for you, that equals death. But not before I force you to watch me take apart the woman you love, piece by motherfucking piece.”
Eric chuckles. It's sadistic. Chills reverberate around my spine. A sharp contradiction to the heat pooling in my core at my man and his dominating presence.
“The fact you think watching you inflict injury on Millie would affect me is highly hilarious. She was a means to an end. Easily manipulated. Someone so fucking desperate for male attention she was happy to spread her legs and betray her best friend in the entire world.” He looks to Millie.
“Not such a girl’s girl now, are you, baby cakes? ”
Millie cries. Or as much as she can, with my used underwear that Eric wanked over shoved into her mouth. I found it in his desk drawer. I wondered where they’d gone, the little bastard.
“What's that, Mills?” I ask. “I can't quite hear you.” I pull the ball of material from her mouth for her to elicit the most feral scream. I think it could possibly outdo the ones that rattle around my brain from that night with the three of them.
“I hate you, you motherfucker. You told me she wanted my parents. That she wanted rid of me.”
“What?” I ask.
“Yes! He spent years manipulating my mind, teaching me to hate you. Like some disgusting little incel that wanted to get laid by his big sister,” she cries.
“Shut the fuck up, you stupid slut.” Eric's calm demeanour shatters. The unhinged side of him I knew was lurking underneath all along.
“Wait. You're telling me this was all because you thought I'd steal your parents?” She nods. “And you fell for it? Do you understand how fucking pathetic you sound when you say it out loud?”
“Quinny, I'm—”
"Don't call me that. You lost any right to call me that when you held me down for the two of them to rape me.
You obliterated my soul. I should have been safe with you.
To know that you would do for me what I would do for you.
And let me tell you, BESTIE, I would have burned the fucking world for you.
But instead of returning the favour, you burned my world to the ground instead.
Everything I knew and loved ceased to exist as I knew it.
And the irony is, you won't even get your parents.
When they find your body, though, don't worry, I'll console them. I'll remind them just how good a daughter I can be. I'll be the one to create memories with them. To give them grandchildren. To look after them when they're old and grey. But I'll never tell them what you did.”
“Thank you.” She sobs. “I don’t want them to suffer. I don’t know what happened to me.”
“I'm not doing it for you. I'm doing it for them. They deserved better than you, and I would never want to see the pain I feel inside my heart present on their faces.”
“You did all of this to keep your parents, and you're never going to be able to live life with them.
I could let you go, Mills. I really could.
I could walk away, never see you again and feel content that you would have to live with the guilt of what you've done.
But I don't believe there is any guilt. And I don't believe you would do things differently if you could.
You're not sorry you were part of the worst moment of my life. You're just sorry you got caught.”
Patience has never been my virtue, so as she opens her mouth to argue back, I slice the pretty Larp cutthroat knife Lulu taught me to use through her throat.
Not just the first layer, but from the sharpness of the blade, every layer down to her bone.
Vocal cords gone. Deleted forever. Blood spurts like a red river that's burst through a dam, and her breaths shudder.
She gargles her blood as her breathing shallows, and I can't help but say, “Gargling blood is a lot easier than gargling my brother’s cum, I'm sure. See you in Hell, bitch.”
She dies in front of me, and not one ounce of remorse remains.
“That was the sexiest thing I’ve ever seen,” Bones says. “Even if you did take away my chance to chop her into pieces.”
“Easy tiger, you can fuck me in their blood when we’re done with him.” I point at Eric. “Do you want a go?”
“Hell fucking yes, I do.” He’s bouncing off the walls like Tigger from Winnie the Pooh. Who knew the lowly old therapist had a killer hidden inside of him?
