King Dame's BBW Virgin 2
1. Chapter 1
Queen Adanna
I didn’t hear the crowd. I didn’t hear the wind. The only thing echoing in my head was the loud-ass clack of my piece as I cleared the safety. Brooklyn was still standing there, smirking like a fool. Her mouth moved as she went on about carrying my man’s baby. I pulled the damn trigger.
The muzzle flash cut through the funeral air. A split second was all that kept that bitch breathing. She flinched and the bullet flew past her cheap sew-in, slamming into the side of the armored SUV behind her.
All hell broke loose.
People started screaming, knocking over folding chairs, trampling all over the sacred floral arrangements, running toward the cemetery gates. Brooklyn tumbled into her King Eze’s arms, screaming as he shoved her ass into the backseat. They peeled off, tearing out of the funeral service.
I didn't give a single fuck about the baby, the grave, or the sanctified ground under my shoes. All I felt was the humiliating, toxic sting of disrespect burning through my veins—and the urge to erase every witness who had just heard that bitch speak.
I raised my piece again, tracking the car through the chaos.
BANG! BANG! BANG!
I kept squeezing the trigger, sending lead straight toward the SUV as it threw more red dirt into the air. I didn't care about the stray bullets, the guards ducking for cover, or the family bloodlines standing around me. My jaw was locked so tight my teeth were grinding into powder.
Shoot the guards.
Shoot the crying aunties.
Shoot the flowers.
Shoot the casket.
Wipe all these weak-ass mothafuckas out.
I wanted to empty the whole drum into whatever was breathing in front of me just to erase the insult and stop the damn noise in my head.
Panic-stricken relatives and hysterical community members started scrambling into my sightline. Their moving bodies and crying faces were blocking my target as they ran for their lives.
"GET THE FUCK OUT THE WAY!" I screamed.
I raised the barrel over a cousin's shoulder, trying to clear a lane to put one straight through Brooklyn's head, but the crowd surged like sheep, swallowing my sightline completely. By the time the lane opened up, the SUV’s back tires kicked up a thick cloud of exhaust and dust, and tore past the main gates.
She was gone. My clean kill was blown.
"FUCK!" I roared.
Dame lunged out from the side, grabbing my wrist with everything he had.
I yanked my arm back and snapped the barrel straight to the center of his forehead, locking my elbow out cold.
"Touch me and see what happens to you," I growled. My finger was laid flat against the trigger pull. "Back the fuck up."
Dame froze, his dark eyes locking into mine. He didn't flinch, and he didn't take a step back. Instead, he took a step forward. The man pressed the hot, smoking steel of my barrel harder into the skin right between his brows.
"Then pull it, Adanna," Dame growled back. His voice was just as cold as mine. "Put a bullet in my head right here in front of the whole damn island. But I ain't backing down from you.”
Chief Idris threw her body directly between my sight and my husband. Her hands were raised, and her bright eyes were wild with terror.
"Danni, stop! Lower the weapon!" Chief barked, her voice echoing over the screaming mourners. "Look at me! Lower the weapon!"
Nana marched right up beside Chief, crowding me. She didn't blink at the barrel pointed at them. She stared me down, her raspy voice sharp enough to cut through solid rock.
"Bitch, we in public!" Nana yelled, glaring at me. "Calm the fuck down! You scaring everybody!"
I blinked a few times as I inhaled.
Every time my eyelids closed, the world shifted in distorted, jagged frames. My brain kept my pulse at forty beats per minute. My chest was tight, not with heartbreak, but with an overwhelming impulse to destroy everything and everyone in a ten-mile radius.
I looked past Nana at the carnage around us.
The sacred Okoye grounds were trampled. Chairs were flipped upside down in the dirt, tribal floral arrangements were smashed underfoot, and the tribal Elders were practically crawling over each other to escape the graveyard, fighting like rats to reach the iron gates.
They weren't running from Brooklyn.
They were running from me.
My eyes drifted to Chairman Obasi’s closed casket sitting under the floral canopy.
I snapped my head toward my perimeter guards. "Find Brooklyn. Bring her to me alive. If anyone gets in your way, put a bullet in their spine."
Chief stepped closer, keeping her voice discreet. "Danni, you need to breathe. You’re spazzing out and need to calm down."
"Fuck breathing," I spat as I looked at her. "Fuck all this shit. Fuck this funeral, fuck this tribe, and fuck every single one of you."
"You need to go home," Chief barked softly, his eyes darting to the fleeing crowd. "Now. Before you show the entire island your other side and ruin years of political leverage. Go!"
I tried breathing. I fought the urge to open my mouth and scream until my lungs tore. Instead, my stare locked onto Damini standing behind Nana.
He was breathing hard, looking around at the shattered funeral like he couldn't believe what just happened. He didn't look guilty, but shocked. And that stupid, innocent look on his face made a new wave of rage boil beneath my skin.
I let out a dry sigh, dropped the barrel, and shoved the gun back into my side holster. I didn't look at Chief, and I didn't acknowledge Nana.
I marched up to Damini, grabbed him aggressively by the collar of his shirt, and yanked him toward his truck.
"Danni, hold up—" he started.
"Shut the fuck up," I hissed, dragging him.
I hauled him to the vehicle, shoved him into the driver’s seat, and slammed the door. Before he could react, I yanked the back door open, slid into the backseat, and drew my firearm back out.
I pressed the warm steel of the barrel into the headrest.
"Take me home. NOW."
My heart was hammering out of my control. I could hear his shallow breathing in the front seat, could hear him trying to clear his throat to speak again.
"Danni, listen to me—"
"Please stop and drive," I whispered, pressing the barrel harder into the cushion until he felt the steel. "If your mouth opens again before we hit the driveway, I’m putting a round through this seat and letting you bleed out."
Damini went completely still. He caught my dead, black eyes in the rearview mirror, realized I was out of my mind, and shifted the engine into drive.
The car pulled off the sacred dirt, leaving the ruined funeral, the dead Chairman, and the terrified crowd behind.
