Chapter 20 #4
Amara quickly slid her arms around his shoulders and pulled him down against her, burying her burning face into his neck to hide her embarrassment.
Elias let out a quiet chuckle.
The next second, his lips found her neck again, showering her skin with soft kisses.
Amara giggled helplessly as he pulled the blanket over both of them once more.
It wasn’t until late evening that Elias finally let her leave the bedroom.
They showered together afterward, and Amara casually changed into shorts and an oversized top while Elias only wore a pair of dark lounge pants.
The moment she stepped out of the bathroom, Elias immediately scooped her into his arms.
“Elias!” she laughed, instinctively wrapping her arms around his neck.
He carried her out into the living room where the dinner they had ordered earlier was waiting on the table.
Amara leaned up slightly, and Elias tilted his head down at the same time. Their lips met in a quick kiss. Both of them grinned afterward without even realizing it.
“What the fuck?”
The unfamiliar voice startled both of them instantly.
Elias stopped abruptly.
Amara flinched and tightened her arms around his neck as both of them whipped their heads toward the entrance.
Jasper stood near the door, frozen halfway through closing it behind him. His eyes were wide with disbelief.
“What the fuck?!” Elias barked this time.
His hold around Amara tightened immediately.
“What the hell are you doing here?”
Jasper frowned right back at him.
“Dude, I live here! What the hell are you doing here?”
Then his eyes shifted toward Amara in Elias’s arms.
Elias instantly turned sideways, shielding her from Jasper’s gaze like a territorial lunatic.
“Don’t look at her,” he snapped coldly.
Amara smacked Elias’s shoulder immediately.
“Stop it,” she hissed. “It’s not like I’m naked. Put me down.”
Elias glanced down at her, clearly displeased.
Instead of answering, he simply turned around and carried her straight back toward the bedroom.
“Elias!”
He ignored her completely.
The moment they entered the room, he dropped her onto the bed. Amara bounced slightly against the mattress before staring at him in confusion.
Elias walked over to the chair nearby, grabbed his shirt, and quickly pulled it on, leaving half the buttons undone in his rush. Then he grabbed both his phone and hers from the nightstand and shoved them into his pockets.
After that, he snatched up his jacket and strode back toward her.
Amara blinked at him.
“What are you doing?” she asked, completely confused.
But Elias walked straight toward her without hesitation and pulled her up from the bed.
“Elias, what are you—”
Before she could finish, he grabbed his jacket and wrapped it securely around her hips, covering her bare legs.
Then he lifted her back into his arms again. Amara stared at him in disbelief as he carried her out of the bedroom and announced loudly enough for Jasper to hear,
“I’m taking you back home now.”
Jasper stood frozen in the living room with a completely appalled expression on his face. His eyes moved between the two of them in utter disbelief as Elias marched past him with Amara in his arms and headed straight for the elevator.
The elevator doors slid shut.
Only then did Amara finally snap out of her shock.
“My stuff is still in the apartment,” she protested, squirming slightly in his hold as she tried to get down.
Elias tightened his arms around her immediately to stop her from moving.
“I’ll have everything brought back later,” he said calmly.
Then he looked down at her.
His gaze turned deep and intense.
“Right now,” he said slowly, “I just want to take home everything that belongs to me.”
Amara’s face instantly burned red.
“Are you serious right now?!”
A faint smirk appeared on his lips, but he said nothing else. He carried her all the way to the car and drove her straight home. The moment the car stopped, Elias got out first and opened her door before she could even touch the handle herself.
Again, he refused to let her walk.
He simply lifted her into his arms and carried her inside the house.
Amara buried her burning face into his shoulder as the staff quickly lowered their heads and pretended not to see anything.
Elias didn’t care at all. He carried her upstairs, straight into the bedroom, and finally placed her down gently on the bed.
Amara barely had time to sit up before he turned and walked toward the closet. She watched him in confusion as he opened one of the drawers and pulled out one of her silk scarves.
Then he came back toward her..
His gaze locked onto her the entire time.
Dark.
Heated.
Amara’s breath grew uneven under the intensity of it.
“Elias…” she whispered softly.
He climbed onto the bed and sat in front of her before carefully wrapping the silk scarf over her eyes.
Darkness covered her vision instantly.
A sharp breath escaped her lips.
“W-What are you doing?”
Instead of answering, Elias placed one hand against her shoulder and gently pushed her backward.
Amara fell onto the mattress with a startled gasp.
The bed dipped again as his body moved over hers.
Then she felt his fingers wrap around both her wrists, pinning them gently above her head against the pillow.
A shiver ran through her body.
Elias lowered his head near her ear, his warm breath brushing against her skin.
“It drives me insane,” he muttered hoarsely, “when you even look at another man.”
His grip around her wrists tightened slightly.
“I will never let anyone else get closer to you than me.”
Amara’s breath hitched.
The next second, she gasped sharply when his teeth grazed the sensitive skin of her neck.
His lips followed after, kissing slowly along her throat and collarbone, leaving lingering traces of affection across her skin while he held her tightly against him like he never wanted to let her go again.
