Chapter 1 #4

My eyes roll back in my head, and I can do nothing but cling to his neck, boneless and helpless, yet more alive than I’ve ever felt before in my life.

“You’re mine, Rayne. Only ever fucking mine. This pussy—” he sinks inside me again, and euphoria lights up my core, “—is only ever for me. It only comes on me. My mouth. My cock. My fingers.” He thrusts deeper inside me with every statement, and I’m close to losing my mind.

“Yes, Enzo. I’m only ever yours,” I whimper my agreement, my arms wrapped around his neck. I’ve only ever been his, and that will never change.

“I can’t wait to fill you with my cum, Rayne,” he growls in my ear.

“Have you dripping all over my cock when I empty myself inside you.” He pulls out and drives back in and I lose control, my world narrowing until there’s only his voice, his hands, the rhythm of us.

The rest of the world falls away until there is nothing but pure blissful euphoria… and Enzo—the man I love.

If I pinch myself right now, will I wake up from this amazing dream? The one where I’m lying in Enzo’s bed, in his arms, naked and high on orgasms. His hold is possessive and reassuring, while his fingers trail lazily up and down my side. I swear I’m in heaven, and I don’t ever want to leave.

“We’ll tell Mama and Angelo about us at breakfast,” he says, breaking the silence. “I’m not keeping this a secret.”

“Don’t you think maybe we should wait?” I ask, less worried about Sofia, whose primary focus is always her children’s happiness, and more concerned about how my best friend will react.

Not because there’s anything at all like this between Angelo and me—we are purely platonic—but because he’s always been my ride or die.

And now… now my heart, body, and soul belong to his big brother. Maybe it’s been that way for a while.

His hand grips my jaw, and he angles my face so that I’m looking into his eyes. “Wait for what, Rayne?”

“I don’t know, maybe until I wrap my head around it myself. I came in here thinking you might throw me a mercy fuck, and now…” Now, I’m living out my fantasy.

“I told you if we did this, you were mine,” he growls.

“And I am yours. I’ve only ever been yours.” I chew on my bottom lip. “Do you think he’ll be mad?”

“I don’t think he’ll be surprised,” is all he says.

I’m quiet, thinking. I must be too quiet for Enzo because he rolls on top of me. The solid weight of him pinning me to the mattress is enough to have me wanting him again. But his eyes are filled with concern. “What is it, cuore mio? And what can I do to make it better?”

I stroke his cheek, adoring how safe and cherished he makes me feel.

“This is just a lot to take in. I…” I swallow the knot of mixed emotion in my throat—happiness, excitement, fear that this will somehow all be ripped away because nobody gets to be this happy, do they?

“It feels too perfect, Enzo. What if you wake up tomorrow and think this was a huge mistake, or you realize I’m not right for you?

If I’d gotten here five minutes later you’d have been with Sherrie tonight and not me. ”

He sighs, his warm breath dusting over my forehead.

“Rayne Olivia Ellis, I am so into you, it borders on obsession. Yes, I remembered the promise I made you, but I didn’t think you’d follow up on it on the day you turned eighteen.

I wanted you to enjoy your party tonight.

I know how much you’ve been looking forward to it because you’ve been talking about it nonstop, even though you usually hate parties. ”

I do hate parties, and that he’s aware of that is simply more evidence of how well he knows me. “I wasn’t excited for the party. I was excited for this, Enzo. I’ve been dreaming about this for two years, planning what I’d wear. What I’d say.” I stop talking, feeling silly.

“If I had known you were going to come up here, I swear I wouldn’t have even looked at Sherrie.” He tucks a curl behind my ear. “So, I’m not going to wake up tomorrow and think this was a mistake. You are the only woman I’m interested in.”

“So not Sherrie? Or any of the legion of women I have watched you parade through this house for the past three years?” There have been many more before that, I know, but his mama wouldn’t allow girls to sleep over until he turned eighteen—she said it set a poor example for his younger brothers.

His lips curve into his wicked trademark grin. “They were all poor substitutes for you. I had to do something while I waited for you.”

Before I can call him a jackass for that, he kisses me, tongue tangling with mine and leaving me dizzy. I’m breathless by the time he lets me up for air. “But there will be none after you, Rayne. And as for other guys, I will kill any man who lays a fucking hand on you. Ever.”

The tone of his voice lets me know in no uncertain terms that he means it too, and that’s okay. In our world, people don’t touch what doesn’t belong to them, and if they do, they pay the price. Lucky for me, Enzo Medici is the only man I ever want. And that will never change.
