Chapter 9
CHAPTER NINE
Xain
After cleaning the kitchen for Khaleesi, I had all intentions of leaving her crib. Listening to Vincent was always dumb, but his suggestion to lock myself in her crib and make her take care of me was some unhinged shit. Yet, I did it.
Now that I wanted to leave, I regretted this shit. We were both stuck in there. I was no longer in control. My phone wasn’t working either, so I couldn’t tell Tech to fix the door.
I wanted to be far away from Khaleesi. Her touch felt intoxicating, and I despised how much I wanted to feel more. I was beyond thankful that Khaleesi was in the room taking a nap. That gave me time to get my mind and dick on the same page.
About an hour into Khaleesi’s nap, my phone started vibrating back to back with notifications for missed calls and text messages.
Simultaneously, Khaleesi’s phone was in her bedroom, ringing off the hinges too.
Before checking a single notification, I stood from the couch and went to see if the door would unlock.
As I approached the door, I heard the smart lock beeping and talking.
I couldn’t make out what it said, but I tested unlocking the door, and it worked.
So why did I go sit back on the couch instead of leaving to get a hotel as I’d planned?
I couldn’t tell you. Her girly-ass living room furniture was uncomfortable as fuck.
Shit was definitely for decoration, not comfort.
Plus, I couldn’t blast Sports Center without waking Khaleesi up.
Shaking my head, I admitted that I stayed because I didn’t want to leave without seeing the version of Khaleesi who didn’t hate my guts one last time.
Khaleesi came tumbling out of that bedroom a minute later, and I thought the jig was up, but she grabbed a bottle of water from the fridge, then went back into the guest bedroom without a word.
Her eyes were barely open, and she emitted a loud, mouth-wide-open yawn. Her ass was going right back to sleep.
I took a few minutes to go through my notifications to see why my phone was blowing up. Tech was the last person to call and text, so I called him back first.
“Hello.”
“Wassup.”
“Do you know where Q is?”
“Nigga, how the fuck I’m supposed to know? You ain’t slick. I know you put that shit on my phone too. Both of our phones, and the smart lock magically turned back on at the same time.”
“Take that up with Q. He said y’all needed some get-along time,” Tech confessed.
“Alright nigga. That favor I owed you is null and void,” I advised him.
“Fuck you, nigga,” he chuckled. “But real shit, do you know where Q would run to if he was pissed? Some shit popped off, and Q disappeared. Turned his phone off and stopped sharing his location with everybody.”
“Nah, why? What happened?”
“Some nigga out here claiming he fucking Jameera.”
“Say you swear,” I leaned up on the hard-ass couch cushion.
“Swear. It’s all over the blogs. He released a diss track with a picture,” Tech explained.
“Not Ms. Recycle-Or-I’ll-Gnaw-Your-Fuckin’-Head-Off cheating on my boy.”
I put my phone on speaker to get on social media to see for myself.
The picture definitely looked incriminating, but I was willing to play devil’s advocate.
Examining the pictures, I noticed a custom garment bag on the couch, and you couldn’t see Jameera’s face well enough to make out an expression.
Listening to the song, I could tell somebody was talking to the nigga, but was it Jameera? I didn’t know.
“Shit, this Q calling me right now. Let me click over,” I explained, not giving Tech time to respond.
Answering for Q, I stood up, my anxiety heightened.
Q was more than a client. His Uncle Vincent took me under his wing when he was a jit.
Q and Quincy felt more like brothers or cousins.
I moved away from the living room and got comfortable at the dining room table so I’d be farther away from Khaleesi’s room door while I spoke with him.
“Aye, where the fuck you at?” I questioned him.
“Don’t worry about it. I just wanted to let you know that I’m going off the grid, so I won’t be needing y’all services until further notice.”
“Understood. But your family is worried about you, Q,” I explained. “You need to be around family now more than ever while you work through this situation.”
“Q! Please help me! Xain has locked us in my apartment!” Khaleesi shouted, rushing over to fight me for my phone.
“She can hear me?”
“Yeah, I can hear you. You’re on speaker!” Khaleesi confirmed.
“Aye, all of y’all some lying ass hoes! I know you and Amill were privy to whatever Jameera had going on.”
“Huh?” Khaleesi said, perplexed.
“I hope the girl code was worth our relationship,” Q spat, and hung up the phone.
Khaleesi looked up at me for answers.
“They said Jameera is cheating, but I don’t know,” I shrugged.
Khaleesi plopped down on the couch with my phone in hand, clicking around. Tech was calling me back, and Khaleesi swiped his call away faster than a toddler watching YouTube on their mama’s phone. Her fingers didn’t stop moving until the diss song was playing from my phone’s speakers.
“This is too much. I’m about to take a long scalding shower and probably go back to sleep,” Khaleesi passed me the phone back and massaged her temples. “I’m about to lose my fucking job because this nigga thinks I knew his woman was out here fucking. I had no idea what Jameera was up to.”
“This is the problem with society. Everybody is so quick to believe the first thing that pops up on their phone screen.” I shook my head, knowing I sounded just like my granny.
“There is a world where Jameera didn’t cheat.
Look how bad shit looked between us in that hotel.
And I wouldn’t fuck you with a crackhead nigga’s dick. ”
“Xain, please. You know I could see how many times you watched my stories after we first met, right?”
“Mannnn! That wasn’t me! I swear to god that was Vincent! His thirsty ass was looking for any crumb of Anila after she blocked him, so he would use me and Duke’s phone,” I argued.
“I could see Vincent doing everything you said, and then some. I’ll give you that.
But that’s beside the point,” I sputtered.
“If I wanted to rub this pussy across your tongue, I could. I have the type of pussy that would have you wrapped around my pinky finger, eating me from the roota to the toota. Luckily for you, I’d never take it there because we are co-workers, and that’s bad for business.
Go play in traffic before you play with me. ”
My ears heard everything she said, but my brain and my dick were focused on Khaleesi rubbing her pussy across my tongue. She was right. My erection hidden beneath the dining room table was physical confirmation. Khaleesi talked that shit with so much conviction that I knew it was all facts, no cap.
Khaleesi stood from the table and sashayed back towards the bedroom she came out of.
My eyes were glued to her slim waist, wide hips, and fat ass.
The sight was hypnotizing, and I was thankful that she didn’t have eyes in the back of her head to catch me damn near drooling.
Khaleesi disappeared into the hallway, and I finally relaxed, thinking of some of the most unpleasant shit to get my dick to go down.
Then visions of Khaleesi in the scalding shower, soap suds running down her ample breasts flooded my mind. I had to get the fuck on.
Standing from the table, I headed for the front door. When I swung the door open, a light-skinned nigga, an inch or two shorter than my 6’1” frame, stood at the door with a box of pizza in one hand and a basketball tucked in his other arm.
“Who the fuck are you?” I pried.
I prayed this wasn’t her nigga, and above all else, I hoped he couldn’t sense the jealousy seeping from my pores. Either way, I couldn’t say what my next move would be if he claimed Khaleesi. My fists were already balled, and I desperately needed an answer.
“Nah, nigga. Who the fuck are you? And where is my sister?” He quizzed.
“Oh my bad. She’s in the shower.” I stepped aside, granting him entry. “You’re her brother, Noah. I remember you coming out to one of Q’s concerts during his first tour. You weren’t this damn tall back then. You hoopin’ now?”
I attempted to make small talk, but he didn’t reply. Noah made a beeline to Khaleesi’s bedroom, tossing the pizza on the dining room table on his way. I went back into the kitchen to wash my hands and grab one of the Gatorades I brought over.
“Aye man, where the fuck is my sister?” Noah questioned from the doorway of his sister’s room. “Ion hear no shower running in her bathroom.”
“She’s in the other bedroom.”
“Why she in there?”
“Ask her,” I shrugged.
Noah jogged in that direction and peeked his head into the bedroom.
“Khaleesi!” He called her name.
“I’m in the shower, Noah. What are you doing here?” She shouted back.
“My mama tripping. I need to stay here for a few days. I bought you a pizza. I’mma be in the living room with your friend. Just wanted to make sure you were okay. I ain’t never seen a nigga over your place since you moved out of the apartment with Montell!”
His statement was music to my ears. I likely was the only nigga to see the inside of her bedroom and feel those nice ass pillows.
Noah closed the bedroom door and found his way back down the short hallway. I plopped down on the couch with my Gatorade and refocused on the TV.
“My bad. Needed to make sure your strange ass didn’t break in here and hurt my sister or no shit like that,” Noah detailed, taking a seat on the couch opposite me.
“I feel you. I would do the same about mine,” I admitted.
“But yeah. I be hooping. Trying to get a scholarship for college,” he expressed.
“That’s what’s up. What position you play?”
“Shooting guard. You a personal trainer or some shit? You look like you lift a lot. I need some help with my strength training.”
