TWENTY YEARS LATER #4

Caspen wanted to see it. He needed to observe every moment of her orgasm, to watch it in its entirety with no distraction from his own.

Tem’s back arched. Caspen’s lungs tightened.

It was as if she were pulling him right along with her.

It was agony to hold back. But he would defer his pleasure for hers; he would wait for her even if it killed him to do so.

Caspen watched as Tem took herself there. He watched as she drove her fingers deeper, touching herself the way she did when she was alone, showing him something he knew he was privileged to see. To witness this was a certain, singular liberty.

The moment her neck arched back, Caspen broke.

He could not resist any longer; he found he did not care to anyway.

It was as useless as holding back the shore.

He allowed himself to release, to succumb to the desire that had seeped into his veins the moment she had stepped into the cave.

Caspen’s cum poured into his palm, and with it, the very last of his restraint.

He had never known such luscious joy. Tem was the antidote to his misery. The stars. The sky. None of it was as awe-inspiring as her. He looked down at his essence in his hands. To his surprise, Tem reached for him. Without thinking, Caspen jerked away.

Tem withdrew, stuttering an apology. At her embarrassment, he softened. She had never seen a man’s cum before. Of course she was curious. He held his hand back out slowly, giving her the opportunity to look. Her head was mere inches away from his. It would be so easy to lean down and kiss her.

“It’s beautiful,” Tem whispered.

“Then it is like you.”

At his words, she blushed. Caspen should not have said that. But he could not help it. She was the single most stunning creature he had ever borne witness to.

A terrible, forbidden idea occurred to Caspen.

It was wrong to give her a piece of himself.

It would only end in disaster. He could not condemn her to that—he could not make it so that this gorgeous human woman was beholden to his grasp.

But Tem was no ordinary human. Caspen was not sure she even was human.

And if she was what he thought she might be, then giving her a piece of himself was not only reckless; it was dangerous.

But he could not resist the urge. It was as if Kora herself were compelling him to clasp his hands together and harness the power within his core, creating what he had never created before.

This particular act was new to Caspen. But all basilisks were born with the ability to perform it.

So he closed his eyes, drawing upon the power that simmered constantly within him.

The fire dimmed. It only fueled him more.

He pressed his palms together, concentrating on nothing but the act of forming. A moment later, it was in his hands.

Tem’s eyes were wide with wonder.

He held it out to her. “Take it,” he said.

She took it slowly, and the moment she touched it, a part of her sealed itself inside him.

“Try it,” Caspen said quietly.

Tem looked up. “Right now?”

“Yes.”

He was so eager it was embarrassing. He wondered if she could sense it—if his hunger was evident in his voice. It did not matter. Caspen needed her to insert this piece of him. He needed to be inside her.

Tem considered the object, turning it over in her hands. Then, to his relief, she sat on the ledge and slid the thick tip of it between her legs. He watched as she struggled; it was too big.

“Do it slowly,” he commanded. “It is not meant to hurt.”

She nodded and tried again. This time it slid all the way inside her, and a primal wave of need slammed into Caspen as all but the end of it disappeared. A shadow of how she would feel cinched around his own cock, and he hardened once more. Kora.

They stared at each other, her seated, him standing. Caspen saw her flushed cheeks, her smooth skin. He longed to step forward and touch her. But he had broken enough rules tonight. If he broke one more, he might never let her leave this cave.

They dressed slowly, and Caspen could feel Tem watching him. He wanted to watch her too. But he refrained, only allowing himself to look at her when she was once more fully dressed. They walked to the head of the trail together.

“You will return tomorrow night,” he said to her. “Do not be late.” Without another word, Caspen turned to leave.

“Wait—” Tem cried.

He stopped, his back to her.

“Will you think of me?” she whispered.

Caspen closed his eyes. Even with the expanse of the forest around them, he could not block out her scent. Finally, he said, “I told you I would.”

“I know. I just…” Tem paused, and he heard her take a deep breath before finishing. “I wanted to hear it again.”

Caspen did not dare turn around. If he turned around, he would go to her.

If he turned around, he would tell her anything she wanted to hear, as many times as she wanted to hear it.

Instead he sent her a pulse—the first one he had ever sent—one so strong that it nearly took the breath from his lungs.

The moment he did so, power surged within him.

It shot from his chest to the tips of his fingers, crackling beneath his skin.

He had suspected it before, but now he was sure: Tem was not human.

She was his undoing.
