Chapter 8

Pulling up to school that morning felt different. After that tough talk with my mama, I felt such a huge sense of relief. Now, I could do everything openly, while also opening a new chapter with Sin J.

Hopping out of my Benz, I allowed Jaylah to walk ahead of me, because I already knew that I was about to make a pit stop.

A smile gradually spread across my face, as I noticed him leaning against the hood of his Benz, smirking.

Casually rocking Givenchy from head to toe, while the sun hit those mesmerizing grey eyes perfectly was enough for me to melt at the sight.

“Morning,” I sang, as I approached him.

“Morning,” he responded, before pulling me into his arms for a tight hug. “I’m sorry,” he apologized, before placing a juicy kiss upon my lips.

I frowned. “Sorry for what?”

“For having you in that situation last night. I know that you hated that we got caught. By your big cousin, at that. And that’s my fault. Acting like a freaky frog, and shit. I was just backed-up. It had been a few days…and I just couldn’t help myself.”

I shook my head. “Clearly, neither of us were thinking straight, but it’s okay.”

He nodded, before reaching behind himself and grabbing a bouquet of flowers. “Here, baby.”

“Aww,” I gushed, as he handed the flowers to me. “Thanks, bae.” I hugged him again.

“You’re welcome, shorty. Now,” he cleared his throat. “Did you have that talk with your moms and pops?”

I nodded. “I did.”

“Okay. How did it go?”

“They were easier to talk to than I expected,” I admitted. “Now…my mama is just insisting that I get on birth control.”

“Birth control?” He frowned.

“Yeah. What do you think about that?”

“Honestly? That aint what I want…but we’ll both be eighteen in a couple of months. So, even if she does force your hand this time, it’ll be the last. After that, its up to us.”

I nodded in agreement. “Right.”

“Okay,” he sighed. “Fuck all that, yo. I’m just glad that moms Trinity didn’t put you on blast. That would’ve fucked our whole shit up.”

“It really would’ve. Did she fuss at you, after I left?”

“Nah. She sent my pops to have a talk with me.”

My stomach churned. “And what did he say?”

He exhaled. “Basically, not to fuck you raw, unless I was ready to marry you.”

I arched a brow. “And what did you say?”

“That I heard him loud and clear…and that’s why its no need to wear a rubber.”

“Nigga, what?” I exploded with laughter. “You did not tell that man that.”

“I did, yo. Word to my mother.” He raised his right hand to the man.

“I can’t with you,” I giggled. “Now, come on. Let’s go in this school.”

Nodding, he smoothly hooked an arm around my neck, as we traveled towards the building.

That morning…I guess was sort of our official couple announcement to the school. Before then, there had been speculation, as people would see us after school, but this was in front of the entire student body, leaving no room for questions. We were unquestionably a solidified thing.
