23. Lyra

I’d gotten flowers for the first time in my life, and they were stunning.

It was silly to be tearing up over something so trivial, but the gesture had completely blindsided me. I took another deep breath of the soft, sweet scent of the flowers and the eucalyptus’ sharp afternote, keeping it from being too sweet. Taking a step back, I pulled out my phone, took a picture of them, and sent it to Elora. We hadn’t talked recently with her schedule as crazy as it was, but we tried to keep each other in the loop when it came to big moments. For me, this wasn’t just a big moment. It was major.

“You sending a photo to Eli?” Fawn asked, plucking a peony out of the bunch, sticking it behind his ear, and posing.

I chuckled and snapped a photo of him. “I’ll send that one to him after I finish the one to my bestie, Elora.”

“Oh, a bestie,” Fawn said excitedly, hopping up on a stool. “Tell me everything. Does she live here? Do I get to meet her?”

His enthusiasm was infectious, and he looked rather adorable as he sat there kicking his legs like a kid waiting for a present.

“Elora is a singer. She was with a band called Twisted Hearts but broke out on her own using her stage name, Glamour Lies,” I shared.

Fawn let out a shocked squeak and nearly fell off the stool but caught himself on the counter. “Ohmygod, ohmygod,” he said, talking so fast it sounded like one word. “Oh. My. God. Lyra, do you have any clue how big of a deal that is? Clearly not, since you just dropped that bomb in such a casual manner.”

Confused by his reaction, I frowned. “I mean, I know she’s doing well, and lots of people listen to her music, but I’m not sure why you’re freaking out like that.”

“Oh, my sweet, clueless angel,” Fawn said in a baby voice as he stood, grabbed my face, and quickly kissed my lips. “Babe, your bestie was just nominated for the Signboard Choice Award in the category for best rock artist. She’s up against major names like Modest Syndrome and Ecstasy in Knots for that award. That is why I had a bit of a meltdown.”

I tugged his hands off my face and hugged him close before flipping the camera around to take a selfie. “There, now I can send her a picture and tell her you’re a fan.”

“Not with that picture, you’re not.” Fawn huffed indignantly. “Give me the phone, and let me show you how to do this right.”

One picture turned into a full-on photoshoot, testing out all kinds of poses and taking pictures together. I laughed so much my cheeks hurt, but Fawn refused to stop taking pictures.

“You don’t understand… the camera loves you,” Fawn praised, now having decided to take pictures of me alone. “Just wait until I send some of these to the guys. They’re going to be so fucking jealous. I mean, look at you… no makeup, hair fresh out of a messy bun, and you’re wearing lounge clothes, but I’ve never seen a more beautiful woman.”

“Oh please.” I groaned, flopping back on the couch.

“What, you don’t believe me? Give me a second, and I’ll prove it to you,” Fawn challenged as he joined me on the couch but couldn’t seem to get comfortable. “Hey, lift your head for a sec.”

I obliged, allowing him to snuggle into the corner of the seat and stretch out his legs so my head now rested on his thighs. “It’s not that I don’t think I’m pretty,” I commented, grabbing the remote and turning on the television. “When I choose to clean up and put in the work, I’m a solid eight on the looks scale.”

Fawn snorted but didn’t respond, too engrossed in whatever he was doing on my phone. I recalled Fawn saying the movies he wanted to watch could be streamed, so I pulled up Bingeflix. Next, I headed for the romance category and found they had a subgenre titled Steamy Romance Movies. I was betting all the movies Fawn had in mind would be found here, so I skimmed through the options and found 365 Days.

“Should we start with this one or that other one, Mike something?” I asked, peering up at Fawn.

“Oh, I love this movie. It’s like the adult version of Beauty and the Beast,” Fawn said with a grin. A second later, my phone started to buzz like crazy. “You’re gonna want to read these for yourself, angel.”

Lyra:

It’s Fawn, I stole angel’s phone to send you these. Enjoy!

Zachary:

Cub, it’s not nice to rub it in our faces that you get to spend the day with Lyra.

Tanner:

Seriously, Fawnie? I’m at the shop, and now I have to hide in the office until this damn hard-on goes away.

Pascal:

Little bro, would it bother you if I made one of these photos my background if I left yours as the lock screen?

Fawn:

Nope, go for it, Passie.

Eli:

Fawn, I hope you remember I let her leave the bed so you could spend the day together.

Tanner:

Wait! Eli, you got to sleep over? I didn’t know that was an option.

Eli:

Wasn’t something either of us planned, but petal gets rather demanding when she’s sleepy.

Tanner:

*takes notes*... always be around when starlight is sleepy. Got it!

Pascal:

Once we’re all under one roof, I’m sure we’ll all get the chance for a sleepover. That being said… I’m an excellent bedmate since I don’t snore.

Zachary:

Looks like Pascal is playing dirty.

Tanner:

You’re just salty because you know how bad your snoring is.

Fawn:

Guys, you’re getting way off track so I think we’re gonna watch our movie now.

Eli:

Did you two find anything special when you got back?

Fawn:

Oh, you mean these? Why yes, these beauties are what prompted the photoshoot.

Lyra:

Yes, thank you. Eli, I’m sorry I meant to send you a picture when we first found them but got a little distracted.

Tanner:

Wooow, way to make us look bad.

Tanner:

JK (in case you thought I was serious).

Pascal:

Stop letting us distract you two and go watch your movie.

Fawn:

Aye, aye, captain, over and out.

Cheeks flushed, burning with embarrassment, I grabbed a pillow and hid my face with it, letting out a giddy scream. God, I felt like I was a teenager with her first crush the way these men caused a riot of butterflies in my stomach. Once I’d pulled myself together, I peeked out from the pillow to find Fawn looking far too pleased with himself.

“Oh, shut up,” I muttered.

He gasped and fluttered his lashes at me. “But, angel, I didn’t say a word.”

“You didn’t have to. I could see the smugness written all over your face,” I countered, waving a finger at him.

He caught my hand and playfully nipped my finger. “Look at us… three days in, and we’re already able to read each other without any words. I can’t wait to see where we end up in three years.”

I couldn’t even picture what life would look like three years from now. Would we be in the same house? Was I still working? Would Fawn have had a child by then? Were we all happy and in love? Those thoughts came to a screeching halt as I felt Fawn’s mouth wrap around my finger and suck on it as he drew it back out.

My breath caught in my throat while I watched his tongue flick over the tip of my finger in a highly suggestive manner. “Oh good, you’re back. I thought I lost you there for a second,” Fawn said, rubbing his cheek to the back of my hand. “I didn’t mean to freak you out talking about our future together.”

“You didn’t. It’s just my brain that seems to struggle with what a future with a true pack looks like,” I explained. “For so long, I’ve been fighting against this exact scenario, and it’s hard to switch gears even if it’s something I now know I want for my life.”

Fawn bent over and kissed my forehead. “I’m glad to hear you’ve changed your mind. It helps to know what you’re thinking since none of us want to push you into something before you’re ready.”

Smiling, I wrapped my arm around his legs and snuggled closer before hitting play on the movie. This story wasted no time and wasn’t beating around the bush when it came to the steamy moments. One minute, you see the leading lady get ditched by her boyfriend and go to town with a vibrator, then the highly attractive male lead is choking out a flight attendant with his cock. I swear to God, that scene had to be real, with the glimpses of something real getting thrust into that woman’s mouth.

“Is the whole movie like this?” I asked, fanning myself.

“They give us a little break as they introduce the real point of the movie,” Fawn answered as he slipped a hand in his sweats to adjust himself. “That blow-job scene gets me every time. There’s just something about how he owns her mouth, taking what he wants, and you know she thanked that man at the end.”

My shoulders shook as I laughed at how flustered he’d gotten. “Do your Alphas know how much this man affects you?”

Fawn grinned and waggled his eyebrows. “They love it… probably because they get all the benefits.”

We were soon swept away in the glamorous life of this handsome criminal as he wooed his reluctant lover. The sexual tension that poured off these two actors was impressive as each of them became bolder in their attempts to tempt the other. I was slightly alarmed when she was tied to the bed, but it quickly turned into jealousy as she was forced to watch another woman give her man a blow job. To be clear, I wasn’t envious of this situation specifically. Instead, I imagined being all riled up, but Zachary made me wait as Fawn worked him over with his lush mouth. My body hummed with need while I wished I could be kneeling next to Fawn, making out and taking turns sucking on Zachary’s cock.

Heat flooded my body, and I was soon wriggling my way up Fawn’s body so I could rub my face against his rock-hard dick. He groaned and bucked his hips in approval and then rested a hand on my head, fisting some hair. I expected Fawn to shove my face into his crotch, but he didn’t—he froze instead. Tilting my head, I looked up at him, but his eyes were closed with his lips parted in an expression of pure enjoyment.

If he wasn’t going to move things forward, then it was up to me.
