Stay.

My body is shaken awake, my cries dying down as I hear the rumble of Alpha purrs within my nest. I am wrapped up in muscled arms and a leather scent. Campfire, citrus and rain linger around.
“Runaway, baby. It’s okay. You’re okay.” Anderson coos, he’s climbed into the bed with me and lays over the covers, facing me with a look I try to not read into too much. His hand brushes away tears from my cheeks, tears I swore I would stop shedding.
“Does this happen to you a lot, Sugar?” Monty asks with a hint of reservation from his position at the foot of the bed. I look over to him as he speaks, his campfire scent has an edge to it. I don’t like that.
“It hasn’t in a few months. At least. Not that I can remember.” I say as I sit up and try to catch my breath.
Taylor reaches for me, wrapping his large hands around mine.
His steady breathing at my side and his thumbs tracing circles over my palm are everything I need to stay in the present.
I can feel everyone’s eyes on me; I can hear the questions they all have.
Unfortunately, the answers are stuck in my throat.
“You don’t have to tell us about it all now Wildfire, but we want to know when you’re ready. We want to help.” Taylor murmurs as he places a soft kiss on my palm.
Relief rushes through me at his statement, I know we have to talk about it soon, but I can’t shake my nerves that they’ll all think it’s too much and leave. Or worse, send me back to Trent.
“We’ll go back out to the living room Angel,” Luke says, placing water on the nightstand. “If you need us, we’re just on the other side of the door.” All the guys start to leave, and I panic again.
“Wait. Stay.” I blurt out before I can even think differently, “Please. I feel safe with you all here.”
They all freeze, casting glances at each other, then looking to me for confirmation. I move the blankets aside and wave at the space, “I mean it please. Can we just have a pack cuddle puddle tonight?”
“Dibs on being next to Wildfire!” Taylor calls as he drops back into the bed with me.
I giggle and tsk at him as he rolls me in his arms to be my big spoon, facing me towards Anderson, who’s climbed back in from the other side.
Monty and Luke claim the outside edges of the bed being the big spoons to my little spoon sandwich.
Normally after a nightmare I can’t sleep for hours, as I end up thinking every shadow might be him lurking in wait.
Yet I find as I have myself cradled between my pack, that I am back to sleep quickly and with no more flashbacks of the past. The scents from my mates wrap around me, soothing all my anxious thoughts and lulling me to dreams of what is to come for us.
