Chapter 8 #2

“Look, let’s stop fucking playing games, okay?

Life just got real. And we need to figure out what our priorities are now.

Starting with Nova,” Will says, looking at Nick.

“Nova is our Omega. The three of ours. We’ve always wanted an Omega, so don’t act like this is something new.

Now that he’s dead, we can stop being raging fucking assholes to her because we were trying to protect ourselves,” Will growls, and Nick’s eyes flick over to mine for a moment before looking back to his brother.

Was what Ian mentioned about Nick earlier true?

What happened to him that makes him so reluctant to take on an Omega?

It’s not just about his father. There’s something more that I want to know.

Picking at him aside, I am starting to fall for the grumpy fucker and find myself caring for him more than I’d like to admit.

“Nova is our top priority. She is what matters. Her happiness, comfort, and safety comes before anything else.”

My heart stutters as my breath hitches, eyes flicking over to Will’s.

I lick my lips, swallowing the lump in my throat.

The way he said it with so much certainty and passion has more of my walls crumbling down.

I want to give myself over to these men, to let them love me, care for me.

But I’ve been terrified of being hurt again.

I’m so used to doing everything on my own, I don’t know how to depend on anyone else but myself.

But what Will is saying... yeah, I’d like that. A whole fucking lot.

“I agree,” Ian says, pulling me into his arms from behind.

“Anyone tries to hurt my Omega, I’ll fucking kill them.

” The deadly growl rumbling in Ian’s chest at the mention of murder has my pussy weeping.

Damn, I need help. Guess men who kill turn me on.

Who knew? The things I am learning about myself lately are mind-blowing.

“And that includes you,” Ian says to Nick. Oh fuck. If I didn’t love this man already, I sure as fuck do now. Threatening to kill his brother for me? Swoon.

“I wouldn’t fucking hurt her,” Nick barks. “Why the fuck do you all look at me like I’m some kind of monster?” Nick growls.

“Let’s see. You’ve treated her like shit since the moment you met her, threatened her any time you could, chased her through the woods, and then brutally fucked her like some crazed man,” Will lists.

“To be fair, I got off on all of that,” I chime in, biting my lip. “So, you can’t really use that against him. And if he did actually try to hurt me for real, I’d have found the nearest blunt object and beaten him to death, so there's that.”

“Fucking hell, Little Doe. Listening to you talk about violence like that makes my cock so fucking hard,” Ian groans, rolling his hips as he grinds his erection against my ass.

My nipples harden, and my breathing grows shallow. I’m about to ask Ian to fuck me here and now when Nick growls.

“Do not fuck.” He points at the two of us, and I pout like a kicked puppy.

“Cock blocker,” I grumble.

Nick glares at me, and I just grin back like a crazy bitch. He loves it.

“Fine,” Nick grunts. “The Omega is our top priority. Whatever. Now that that's solved, what do we do about the fact that everything we worked for was all for nothing?”

“We could still move,” Will suggests. “We just wouldn’t have to go through the trouble of faking our deaths and getting new identities.”

“I don’t want to move,” Ian responds. “If we can stay here, I’d like to. I like our home, our town. I have a business I love. A life we’ve built despite everything our father did to interfere with. He’s not a problem anymore. The sky’s the limit, really.”

“It’s not that easy,” Nick growls at Ian. He turns his attention to Will. “And we can’t just leave her behind.”

Wait, who’s her?

“Her? What's going on?” Ian asks what I’m thinking.

Will takes a heavy seat in one of the dining table chairs, lowering his face into his hands and scrubbing before looking up.

“That MC is a fucking mess,” Will sighs.

“And I don’t mean just because most of their members are gone.

I mean, literally a mess. It looks like a fucking junkyard.

Everything is crumbling to the ground, and the children are feral and uncared for.

The women couldn’t care less. I don’t know how they survived this long. If you call that surviving.”

My heart hurts at the mention of children. Those poor kids.

“Shit,” Ian mumbles. “That's fucked up.”

“Tell me about it. And that’s not all. As we were leaving, we met one of the kids. A little girl.”

“Okay, and?” Ian asks.

“She said her name was Rica. She looked just like Nick did when he was a kid,” Will adds.

My eyes widen as white hot jealousy courses through my veins. “Don’t fucking tell me you have a kid,” I growl.

“No,” Nick growls back. “She’s not my fucking kid. Relax. But...” Nick looks at Ian. “I think she’s our sister.”

“What?” Ian shouts. “Sister?”

“Does it surprise you?” Will asks. “Our father wasn’t one to keep it in his fucking pants.”

“Who’s her mother?” Ian asks.

“Julia,” Nick growls.

“Well, fuck me.” Ian laughs. “That evil bitch finally got what she wanted.”

“Who’s Julia?” I ask.

“She’s our stepmother. We hate her with a passion, and that bitch hated us, too. She only saw us as the bastard children of the women who her husband cheated on her with. He may as well been out knocking up anything that moved while he denied her a child of her own.”

“But why?”

“Who fucking knows. He never liked her, never loved or respected her. Not that she deserved it. She’s a wretch of a woman.”

“She sounds lovely,” I say, deadpan.

“Yeah, as lovely as syphilis,” Will comments.

“So we have a sister,” Ian says softly. “I wanna meet her.”

“Kane will be here tomorrow. We have to head back over there, then you can come along.”

“I want to come too.”

“No,” Nick growls.

“Well, it’s a good thing I didn’t ask for your permission.” I raise a brow.

“It’s not a place for you.” Nick steps forward.

“Why?” I ask. “Because it’s filled with bad, bad men? Thought they all died?”

“Not all of them,” Nick grinds out. “We don’t trust anyone there.”

“Guess it’s a good thing you all would kill anyone who tries to hurt me. So, I don’t see there being any issues.” I shrug. “Plus, I want to see these kids for myself.” I turn to Ian. “Do you think we could go shopping tomorrow before we go over there and get some things for them?”

Ian looks down at me with admiration in his eyes. “I think that’s a wonderful idea, Little Doe.” He kisses me on the tip of my nose.

“You’re not going,” Nick grunts.

“Sorry, what?” I ask him. “Can’t hear you.”

“Nova!”

“Lalalala!” I shout as I make my way towards the stairs to check on Duchess and Petunia.

“She’s going to drive me fucking mental.” I hear Nick snarl behind me, making me grin.

Yup. And I’m going to have one hell of a time doing it, too.
