Chapter 19

Chapter Nineteen

VERONA

After giving us most of the night to prepare, Easton drives us to Eva’s house in a black SUV, even going so far as to walk with us to the back door to ensure we’re safe.

He’s very careful to hide the vehicle, instructing us to leave using the same door we entered through and to walk out the garden gate in the yard for our pick up.

Eva’s new place is an adorable cottage that sits away from its neighbors.

The windows are dark, her car is in the driveway, and there doesn’t seem to be anyone awake.

According to the floor plans, there’s a living room, kitchen, one bedroom, and one bath.

There’s just enough room for one person who is looking for a little more space without having neighbors sharing their walls.

It’s now about one in the morning, and the near silence of the neighborhood is why we waited to pay our visit.

Eva is a night owl and I remember her saying once at a family function that she was often up watching re-runs of her favorite shows.

Memories are so odd, because there’s no reason it should have stuck with me.

Hopefully, we can muffle all the screaming Eva might do. Something tells me she may be a bit of a drama queen about a little torture.

None of this makes me squeamish. I know she deserves everything that’s coming to her and more.

The bitch obviously enjoyed the part she played in Rosa’s wedding, even going so far as to suggest my girl kill herself.

While I have an unhealthy obsession with Shakespeare’s works, much of the Accetta family does as well.

Some of the women particularly enjoy dabbling in poisons, knowing exactly how scary the men in the family are.

It’s a way to control the rabid dog in your home.

You’re less likely to hurt your wife, daughter, or cousin if you know she can kill you without a single bullet being fired while she serves you food.

What kind of man wants to admit to having the shits due to something his domestic partner or daughter gave him? Honestly, it would almost be amusing if Eva had had better intentions.

Pablo, Rosa, and I are all wearing dark clothing, and Easton has the three of us inside the house in minutes once he picks the lock. Pablo begins to search for the security key pad to disarm it, eyes widening when he discovers she doesn’t have one.

“She just moved in,” I breathe. “I bet she hasn’t had a chance to have it connected yet.”

“There’s no way the family would allow her to live alone otherwise,” Rosa agrees.

None of us lock the back door in case we find we need to leave quickly or Easton needs to come in, and we creep through the house to clear it of inhabitants. It’s a small property, but much better than an apartment.

If Eva is rationing the money Renzo gave her, it makes sense that the house also barely has any furnishings. Rosa keeps her gun in her hand as we walk down the hallway to the single bedroom in the house, ready to take care of Eva.

Rosa mentioned that if her cousin lives alone, she would have her gun nearby, and the last thing we want is to get shot. Therefore, she is insisting that she walk in first. While I don’t love this plan, I’ll go with it.

Eva is snoring in a queen sized bed, the curtains pulled tightly closed as she sleeps.

Her chest is rising up and down, and it doesn’t seem as if she’s faking.

However, Rosa seems to think that is a possibility, because she climbs into the bed and straddles her before dropping her weight on her chest.

Eva gasps as the breath is knocked out of her, and a knife arcs toward Rosa’s face, which she easily blocks as she shoves her gun under Eva’s chin.

“People talk about going out in a blaze of glory, dear cousin,” Rosa croons as we circle the bed to get closer to her.

Pablo squeezes Eva’s palm and wrist until she whines, releasing the weapon, and allowing him to disarm her easily.

“This is not your moment. Be a good girl now and take your punishment. Out of bed, lazy bum.”

Rosa grabs hold of Eva’s wrists and hair before dragging her out of her comfortable bedding. Her body thumps onto the floor as Eva attempts to make a ruckus, kicking out and bucking as she screams, but Pablo shoves his gloved fingers into her mouth until she’s gagging on them.

“That’s one way to shut her up,” I chuckle.

“I think the gag in your bag is going to be our best friend, mama.”

That’s the first time he’s called me that and my lips part in surprise before I pull off my backpack. Maybe if I ignore what he said, I’ll be able to get away with how warm my cheeks are in the darkness. Happy Eva sleeps with blackout curtains, I remove a gag and zip ties from the bag.

“Vero, I want to keep access to her fingers when you bind her wrists, please,” Rosa says sweetly.

Nodding, I give the gag to Pablo while I zip tie Eva’s wrists together while she holds her.

There’s a bed and a single nightstand in the room, her clothes scattered around and still in suitcases.

After turning on the light, I drag the nightstand over, and use a table leg to pin down the zip tie binding her.

The wash of low light brightens the room, and I am briefly reminded of how lucky we are that Eva wasn’t still awake. She has these curtains all over the house. They either came with the house, or it was one of the first things she added.

“Perfect.” Rosa’s purr isn’t exactly doing much to check my libido, and hide my face as Eva fully realizes how fucked she is.

Stepping away, I watch as Eva kicks and writhes, and Rosa decides to drop her weight down on the stupid, worthless bitch. It’s effective, and not the one trick pony people would assume it is.

Rosa weighs just enough to pose a threat to Eva’s insides.

“Ughh!”

I have to shove my gloved fist against my lips to keep from laughing as Eva retches behind the gag that’s now in her mouth. Pablo rolls his eyes as he tightens the strap, ensuring it’s tightly secured before moving to her ankles to grab them so she’s unable to move.

This isn’t even the worst thing that’ll happen to her tonight. She had better buckle up.

“Did you think I wouldn’t come for you first, cara cugina?” Rosa asks. Leaning forward, she takes hold of one of Eva’s fingers and twists it until it snaps.

I don’t even have the compassion for her to wince, and I sit back on my heels as I watch Rosa work.

“Did you think you were living in a Shakespearean tragedy?” I add. “Goading Rosa into killing herself would’ve just killed me. That wasn’t very nice, Eva.”

I know she didn’t know until this moment that we’re bonded, and I smirk as I pull out a large knife from the bag. I meant to grab it for Rosa, but I can feel my omega’s ire, so I begin to cut off Eva’s clothing with disturbingly slow movements.

“Papa is homophobic,” Rosa snorts. “He has no respect for human life, Eva, and neither do I. Stab her, Vero. Just a little one.”

I don’t allow myself to think too hard about it as I raise the knife and sink the blade into Eva’s body. I miss all the pesky bones in her ribs, and I find I enjoy the way the blood looks as I pull out the knife and return to what I was doing.

I can feel Rosa’s concern through the bond, and I answer her by kissing her.

I’m not concerned for the blood bag laying underneath her, or the fact that she’ll be dead when Rosa is ready for her to be.

All I want is for my girl to get her revenge, one person at a time, until she feels ready to leave all of this behind.

As Rosa and I look down at Eva again, she widens her eyes and begins to try to fight harder. Maybe she is finally realizing how fucked she really is.

Rosa moves off her body to systematically break every one of her cousin’s fingers, while I think about how vain she is.

“Fingers may heal, but you’ll always be ugly,” Rosa muses, coming to the same realization I just did.

“I’ve noticed the people in my family have difficulty understanding consent.

There’s a deep seated enjoyment they seem to feel when they get to humiliate others.

Having a houseful of people watch my pussy and asshole get waxed has to list high on the things I never want to happen again. ”

Something breaks behind me, and I find Pablo gazing down at Eva’s broken ankle in his hands.

“It looks better that way,” I shrug, watching as he takes a deep breath. “Pablo, this isn’t even the worst of it.”

“I know,” he whispers. “I didn’t realize how violent I was feeling about it until just now.”

“The only way to fix that is to let it out,” Rosa says. “Trust me on that. She won’t be able to kick at me with how fast her ankle is swelling. You broke it perfectly. Come here.”

Pablo takes another deep breath as he moves from his squat to his knees, crawling toward us.

“Eva is very particular about her looks. I was going to slice up her pretty little face. Would you like to help?” I ask.

“I don’t trust myself not to kill her too quickly, mama,” he sighs. “I’ll watch. I may want to break more of her bones though.”

“Easton was sweet and packed us a mallet. It’s heavy enough that it breaks bones nicely. I think he thinks I have more strength than I do in my muscles,” Rosa chuckles.

“I could lift it, but I’m trying to be a good girl.

I also don’t think the baseball bat fit in my backpack,” I admit, making a face as I grab Eva’s hair and press the back of her head against the ground.

“My stitches are mostly fine, but the stretching of the tissue that was cut aches when I do too much.”

I cut right above her brow, ensuring she sees the knife as she screams, and then dig the blade into her face as I drag it down the length of her too-pretty face. Eva has been getting by on her looks her entire life.

It looks like her face card privileges have run out, though she won’t be alive to deal with those repercussions.

“I think she looks lopsided,” I giggle. “Want to even her out, Rosa?”
