29. Two Omegas

Two Omegas

Kelya

I’m guessing he knows everyone. This is a private party.

While he’s busy hugging his boys, it gives me time to see what I’m walking into.

They must all be the packs and families of the Mangosta clan.

There’s mostly adults, but I see kids amongst them, too.

There’s a live band, catering, and people wearing their best. Everyone is here for a party.

People are already drinking, laughing, dancing, and smoking.

The sweet cigarillo smoke reminds me of Tony.

There’s a neighborhood off to the south with big white villas that look like your standard ocean beachfront design, but not this one. It’s a beautiful Santorini style home, with a pool on the roof and at least three hot tubs I can count.

Someone crashes into the pool wearing all of their clothes. That’s how I know people have been out here for hours, having a good time under the stars.

Rodrigo comes back and touches my elbow.

“Come on, he’ll be down on the beach.”

We walk around the long tables where people eat and right through the dance floor in front of the brass band.

There’s a set of wooden stairs built into the rock side, and we take it down to the beach where things are remarkably quieter, except for the waves.

People are smoking and playing cards, sitting at tables.

There’s even a bar. Everything is more intimate down here.

“Omega Notoria,” a man calls out from the middle of the party. A hush takes over the area as everyone turns to see who their omega leader is talking to.

He’s wearing an unbelievably fine blue suit.

He’s so fucking beautiful he radiates light, not even needing the lanterns hanging across the sand to illuminate him.

His black hair is gelled perfectly, and his hands glitter with gold and diamond rings.

He’s San Miguel. He has to be. The omega radiates what I can only describe as influence, like an alpha would have. I leave Rodrigo and walk up to him.

My eyes dart around and assess his packmates, though I can’t count them all. More than four alphas and two female betas, at least.

San Miguel gestures for me to come closer.

Left with very few options, hours away from the only person who would have my back, I step closer until I meet the man in the middle.

He’s maybe mid-30s and looks like a movie star.

He has that same “celebrity” aura around him.

Like you just know he’s in some sort of special club you’d never be allowed in.

I’ve never met an omega like him.

“San Miguel,” I say slowly.

“Omega Notoria,” the timber of his voice rings out as he calls me this again.

I suck in a quick breath.

Everyone is looking at me with blank faces. They look cool as hell in bright colors, jewelry, and impeccable makeup. No wonder Valentina rolls with these people.

“That’s you, right?” His Hispanic accent is strong. I appreciate his speaking English with me. I wonder if Valentina told him my Spanish wouldn’t be good enough for this conversation.

“Yes, Omega.”

The wind picks up, and my skirt wraps around my legs as my curls fly into my face.

Suddenly, I feel inadequate. Empty handed. I should have brought him a gift. It seems weird to meet someone so important and not have anything to give him.

Without thinking about it too much, or I’ll change my mind, I retrieve the lighter from my purse. It’s a little plain, but there are laser etchings in the metal.

“I brought you a gift. A thank you for inviting me to your party.”

He smiles, and it’s terrifying. I present the lighter. He takes a few slow steps towards me and takes the gift from my palm. With careful inspection, he decides he likes it. I kind of wish he didn’t.

“That’s very nice. Thank you.”

I let my breath out.

A beta woman with long bleached hair and a silver nose ring walks over and takes the lighter from him. He kisses her on the cheek, and she takes it away. He turns back to me.

“Your pills were good quality. I had some of my clan members try them first to make sure.”

I nod. His gorgeous, terrifying smile returns.

“And this—” He points to one of his alphas who holds up the gold chain I stole from that one guy.

What was his name? Marcus. I sold it to the pawnshop.

“It is a beautiful piece. You should have brought it to Valentina instead of going to the pawnshop. Which I own. Valentina would have given you a good price, knowing who you were. Now tell me, what else have you stolen while on my island?”

It’s not like I was in much of a position to haggle for the best price. I was trying to get cash to get away.

“I only steal from tourists. And men. Mostly alphas.”

I catch his teeth gems glinting in the light from a nearby lantern. An alpha chuckles behind him.

“Oh, I know. You’re a very good omega.”

I push my hair out of my face to see his pleased face.

This is a good sign he won’t shoot me and throw me into the ocean.

“I like when good omegas make themselves known to me.”

I take a deep breath so I don’t pass out.

He eases closer to me, and I detect his scent. Vanilla, cinnamon, and rum. It goes right to my head and makes me woozy.

He’s taller than me by a few inches, and his aura affects me like an alpha’s would, making me unsettled and nauseous.

“Tell me, Omega Notoria, who’s Tony Racine? You reek of the unbonded male alpha.”

The heat of a blush takes over my face.

“He’s an alpha. I just…met him.” I’m not sure exactly what he wants to know, so I provide…nothing.

“Rodrigo told me this alpha keeps you in his room. That he heard you two fighting and a gun go off. As an omega myself, I don’t fuck around with alphas who play with things that aren’t theirs. It’s tough being an unbonded omega. This world is unfriendly and dangerous.”

Valentina told me he takes care of omegas. That should make me feel better. A powerful omega like him looking out for little ol’ me…

“I was one once unbonded,” he continues, “and now I have my pack. A great one. All my alphas and my betas are devoted, loving, giving souls, and I couldn’t ask for better people to be bonded to.

There’s always been something I’ve wanted, though.

Maybe you feel the same. I have always longed for another omega.

A male and female omega is a powerful pair. ”

His hand reaches out and pushes my curls off my face, careful not to touch my skin.

It’s so tender and polite. I don’t know what to do, so I just stand still and let him.

Our eyes meet, and I realize maybe he doesn’t invite every omega to his luxury villa to stand in front of him on his private beach, touching their hair and looking them in the eyes on a magical night.

El Santo is coming on to me.

Omegas don’t pair up. There are so few of us compared to the alphas who want us. It would be a spectacle. To possess something so rare, would show power.

It would be wild.

It would be notorious.

“Tony Racine…” I have to explain myself, and his name seems to be on the edge of my lips anyway. “He’s a problem, but he’s helping me. I have a form of bond sickness, and he’s helping me with the symptoms.”

“Oh pobrecita, no. Don’t tell me something so horrible.”

The night air rushes over my hot skin. He grows more bold and strokes my bottom lip with his thumb. Our faces are inches apart.

“Is this ok?” he asks, and I nod. The weight of his touch against me grows. Miguel’s hand moves down to my neck. “What’s the problem, Omega Notoria? Maybe I can help you.”

I look over at his two bonded beta women, and they are watching us with rapt interest. He definitely talked to them about this. They aren’t surprised by his behavior towards me. If anything, they’re watching me and my reactions.

“He’s supposed to take me back to my old pack.

The ones I rejected. They offered him half a million dollars,” I say in a tight whisper.

I’m not unaffected by Miguel’s charms. I can almost imagine it.

He and I in a pack with his tall, gorgeous alpha men and his hot beta women.

Our heats could sync up. There’d never be a shortage of people to kiss, fuck, and connect with.

We’d live on this magical island where time stops and everything is set apart from the rest of the world.

There’s commotion behind us, but I don’t look away from our locked eyes. Neither does he.

The commotion grows to the point that Miguel slides his hand down to mine and pulls me to his side so we can both observe.

Tony Racine crashes onto his knees in the sand. Sweat runs down his hairline. Crude layers of duct tape cover his mouth and wrap his hands together in front of him. Two large men stand on either side, preventing him from sitting up straight.

There’s a burning fire in his eyes. The man is not used to getting caught.

Miguel sees my smile and turns to me with a questioning look.

“It’s just kind of funny seeing him all tied up. I enjoy seeing it,” I whisper to him.

He shakes his head, then leans in close to my ear. “That’s such an omega thing to say.”

He turns back to Tony. How did he find me so fast? I mean, I’m grateful for it, but damn, he’s not fucking around. My heart grows, and my toes dance, excited to ask him how he did it. How he got caught. If he’s mad at me. If he can kiss me while he’s mad at me.

“Tony Racine, you’ve been caught trespassing. What do you have to say for yourself?”

The men let him up so he can see us. Tony only looks shocked for a second, and then levels Miguel with a look, since his mouth is all taped up and can’t answer him even if he wanted to.

I can’t help but giggle again.

Tony looks at me with that same irritated glare, but then his eyes drop to Miguel’s hand holding mine, and irritation turns into indignation.

“That’s right, Alpha Racine; I’ve got your omega. Unbonded omegas are something else, aren’t they? A lone alpha like you might do a lot of bad things to keep a girl like this in his bed.”
