45. Mathan
Mathan
As soon as Artie and I reached the pair of them, Kallis grabbed us, and we made love for hours.
I’m still in a daze from how ecstatic it was.
The main issue is that we’ve overstimulated her.
She’s only in her preheat, but the three of us were so excited that we loved her with everything we had, and then some.
Orso’s scent was back to how it was before he met her, the same sweetness Artie and I loved, and we thought we’d lost because of his accident. It was such a relief to scent him like that again.
We worked around her hate for how hard the bed was by using her office chair, her desk, and my body. Though after half an hour, she’d reached a point where all she needed was her alphas to take care of her.
After we’d finally cooled off, she dressed herself, and we could all tell before she opened her mouth that she planned to walk back to her house again without us.
But there was no way we were letting her go when she was leaking slick and covered in our scents.
Thankfully, it didn’t take much to convince her to come to our cottage, and Artie is so excited that our bond is as chaotic as a heavy metal concert.
She ordered us to pack up very specific things from her office, and that’s when it clicked for us that it’s her nest. We told her we would stay there for her heat and protect the room if she needed it, but she claimed it was unnecessary.
I don’t have as much experience with omegas as Artie. He’s been worrying about leaving her nest since we carried her out to our car, luckily without anyone noticing.
We’d stayed so long in her office that the sun had set, and now I’m sitting on the back seat with her on my lap, her shoulder against my chest. Her hair has fallen out of its tight style and is scattered messily over my arm.
I want to keep her here forever. Especially as she is so tired that she fell asleep the moment she rested her head on my shoulder.
I hug Kallis to me, breathing quietly so I don’t wake her as she gently purrs away.
“Maybe we were a little too rough,” Artie says from the front seat, biting his lip. He has her team sweater and doctor’s coat neatly folded on his lap, and has been obsessively stroking them since I told him he had to stay in the front.
“Oh, you think?” Orso growls from the driver’s seat while his glare jumps between Artie and the rear-view mirror, namely me and Kallis.
Artie hasn’t tried to bite her again, but Orso still has a close eye on him.
Kallis said she won’t go into full heat until tomorrow. But she also said that she had way more time, so who’s to say?
Though we didn’t exactly stop to ask her about her heat when we entered her nest.
I look down at her, her face free from the usual tenseness she always carries. Slipping my hand into hers, my heart clenches as her fingers curl around mine like it’s the most natural thing in the world. I want to purr along with her just because she’s coming home with us.
I have to know if she ever planned to tell us about her heat. I’m sure she didn’t mean to spring it on us, so what was she thinking?
Fucking us wasn’t enough to trigger her heat, but I still won’t let Artie sit next to me just in case he begins messing around and knots her. We aren’t having her heat in the back of a car, especially if we get trapped in here.
“I don’t think she’s got as much experience as we assumed,” I point out. “She looked overwhelmed when we were making love to her at the same time.”
“We got her with the ol’ triple cock attack,” Artie says proudly with a smirk, but neither of us laughs. He sighs. “I mean, it makes sense since it looks like she’s not actually interested in alphas.”
“Or that could just be us she doesn’t care about,” Orso growls. “We don’t know what kind of relationships she’s had in the past.”
“She doesn’t have any bite marks, though.”
“You don’t need to share a bite to fall in love, Artie,” I reply.
“Besides, you thought I was innocent when we first started fucking, but it turns out you’re just a slut,” Orso says, giving Artie a look, and he bursts into a grin.
“We’ve still got a few minutes ‘till we get home,” Artie purrs as his hand disappears between Orso’s legs. “Wanna see how much of a slut I can be?”
“I’d rather he just focused on driving,” I say. If I wasn’t holding Kallis, I would bat Artie’s hand away. I don’t like any of us being distracted while we’re on the road.
Considering how Kallis acts, some of the guys joke that her skin would be ice-cold. But the longer she stays in my arms, the warmer she grows, until I’m worried she really is going to start her heat.
I stroke along her waist, hidden by her shirt, my brow furrowing. She said the bruises from her dad’s pinches didn’t hurt, but they were still a deep purple after five days. How could they not ache?
The moment Orso pulls into the drive, Artie jumps out before he’s even parked. He runs around the front of the car, tearing open the door, standing over me with gleaming eyes.
“Step away,” I say, my voice harder than I mean. I feed one arm under Kallis’s knee, the other clutching her shoulders as I twist and awkwardly rise from the car. I don’t want to let go of her, not even for my mates.
I shock myself. Because as Artie reaches out to take her, I lean back from him, a low growl rumbling from me.
His eyes widen, and he shoots away instantly with a gasp. Though he quickly bounces back, his face lights up as he understands. I’m sure in his head, my possessiveness means I’m already willing to share a bite with her. Because that’s all he’s been thinking about since the day Orso stopped him.
Orso goes to the front door, not looking at us once. He holds it open as I carry her inside. I’m concerned that she hasn’t woken up until my shirt tenses as she tugs on it.
“Mathan?” she asks groggily, her gaze swinging around our kitchen. “What’s going on?”
“Do you remember we said we’d bring you home?” I ask.
Artie jumps in behind us with a cloth bag that clicks and rattles with things from her nest.
“Where do you want us to put them?” he asks her, lifting it up.
“I’ve just woken up, and I know nothing about the floor plan. How am I supposed to answer that question?” she asks, and I sigh happily, placing a kiss on her furrowed brow.
“Glad to see fucking us hasn’t changed you,” Orso remarks as he closes the door and walks past, his arms folded, shoulders tense. She doesn’t need to be bonded to him to see how uncomfortable he is.
I don’t like how light she is in my arms, and I already want to cook her a few big meals so she can eat as much as she wants during her heat. If she’s going to put up with us, she needs all the strength she can get.
Love flows through us as Orso stands and faithfully maintains his glare. Kallis is finally in our cottage, and the rightness that hums through us increases as I turn to the stairs on my right.
But there’s no way I’m lying her down on our living room couch or in the spare room.
Artie won’t allow us to put anything in there because he’s been saving it for whenever our omega appeared.
But telling an omega where they would nest is wrong on so many levels, so there’s no way we’re forcing that on her.
“Where are you going?” Orso asks as Artie trails behind us.
I’m about to answer as I reach the stairs, but she yanks my shirt so hard I nearly fall. I let my shoulder bump on the wall to stop myself from tipping over as she stretches up to kiss me.
“Kallis—” I say, but she drags me in, her moans light, her grip firm as her tongue brushes mine, and I soften instantly. I twist, pressing my back to the wall so I can catch my balance. Then it’s easy to dip my head, and her wild hair tickles my nose as she deepens the kiss.
My head spins with sweet honey dripping in my mouth. We were so wrapped up with being inside her in her office that I still haven’t had a chance to eat her out. I definitely need to change that, but not when she looks half-asleep.
“Er, guys?” Artie coughs, and we pull apart to stare at him. “Are we just going to stand here watching you make out?”
“You don’t have to stay, but I’m taking her to my room,” I say as she nuzzles my neck, happily purring away. Or I hope it’s happy.
I expect them to fight me, but Orso stares numbly at her as Artie bounds toward me.
“I know what you’re thinking,” I say to Orso over her shoulder. “But it’s going to be okay.”
Artie’s too excited to sense how uncomfortable Orso is, which is another reason I’m carrying her away. I’m sure both of them are skipping through all the possibilities of what it means that she’s here, good and bad. But I’d rather we took her to our cottage than leave her alone in The Woods.
Orso doesn’t reply, sighing as he turns away from us and pads toward the kitchen. Sure, he was fine fucking her brains out in her office, but bringing her to our home is a different level of commitment.
I keep her tight to my chest as I carry her up the stairs.
They’re made of a beautiful swirling wood topped with a deep red carpet, and I love the feel of them under my feet every morning.
And it’s even better when I’m holding our omega, though I’m worried her hair might get caught as I plod up each one.
“Mathan,” she says as she wiggles in my arms. “I have legs. I’m perfectly capable of walking.”
“Just let me spoil you,” I hum, nearly tripping on the last step at her gentle smile.
A tremor of nerves goes through me about her seeing my room, but considering how her kisses roam my neck along with tiny moans, I doubt she’ll care about my taste in decor.
I manage to get to the landing, though I’m pretty out of breath. Orso’s room is closest to the stairs, while Artie’s is at the back of the house. I walk past the large office and our comfortable bathroom to reach my bedroom, which is directly across from the spare room that only Artie touches.
I take a deep breath as I carry her in because I don’t know anything about her preferences.
All we’ve really seen of her is her clothes and her office nest, which looks bare compared to most nests in adverts.
She doesn’t wear accessories and keeps things plain.
We’re in the dark about so many things, and we need to fix that as soon as we can.
I set her down, and she wobbles enough that she falls back into me. I’m happy to carry her everywhere if that’s what she wants.
“What was that about walking by yourself?” I ask. But she doesn’t answer as I flick the light switch, and she looks around my bedroom.
Her gaze sweeps back and forth, and I shuffle as the silence draws out.
It’s not only the giant pile of blankets and the pillow fort piled high on top of them that I’m worried about.
I have a giant stuffed bear in the left corner that scrapes the ceiling, surrounded by tons of teddies, and a large bean bag on the right where Artie likes to sit, drenched in his scent.
I also love low lighting, and various novelty and kitsch lamps I’ve picked up at thrift stores scatter the room, brightening the space with a gentle hue.
She stares at a few pillows that look exactly like the ones she uses in her office, and above them on the windowsill sit empty picture frames with little bees flying around the yellow wood.
I don’t know how she’ll react if I tell her I’m waiting to capture pictures of the four of us together so I can fill them.
“It’s like a nest,” she finally says, her eyes wide as she fixes on the largest objects in my room.
“Aye, I love soft things,” I reply jokingly. I can’t tell if she actually likes it because her expression grows neutral again.
No one apart from Artie and Orso has ever been in my bedroom, and Kallis isn’t the coziest person in the world.
“Clearly,” she replies, pulling in a breath, gathering up my scent that soaks the room. I stand behind her, pressing a kiss to her shoulder, and she relaxes into me again. She might not even be aware she’s doing it: I just have that effect on her.
I love seeing her standing here, surrounded by my favorite things. My mates are keeping a close eye on me through the bond, and they definitely sense my pride. I’m sure they want to make sure Kallis and I don’t start fucking without them.
But I need to know Orso is comfortable. We’d gone from making love in her office, or her nest, to suddenly inviting her to our home to spend her heat with us.
It took him months to adjust to Artie after he joined our relationship and to move on to welcoming him into our pack house, and the struggle for him didn’t end there.
I know he’s unnerved by how powerful his reaction to her was, especially when he treasures control so much. Artie will be fine, but we have to make sure Orso is included in all of this. Though he wouldn’t have driven Kallis here if he were against it.
I just hope we aren’t put in a situation where Artie and I go into rut and Orso doesn’t join us. But seeing as he was the first to make love to her, there’s hope for us yet.
