17. Lila

Lila

“Wake up, sleepy head,” Wes whispers, pressing a kiss to the top of my head. I must have fallen asleep in the middle of the last movie we watched. Wes made spaghetti for dinner, despite Harrison’s complaints.

It’s my favorite home cooked meal. The garlic bread was even homemade. I don’t think I’ve ever been more stuffed. With food…

“Oops,” I murmur, groaning as I stretch. “Oops,” I say again, since I just kicked River. He doesn’t look bothered, though, when I smile at him sheepishly.

“Want to sleep together as a pack tonight?” Harrison asks in front of me. He’s sitting on the floor in front of the couch.

“No pressure,” Wes adds, but to be honest, I slept better on the couch with these men than I did all fucking week in the big bed alone.

“I think I would really like that,” I say with a smile that quickly turns to giggles when Harrison whoops, before dragging me off the couch and toward the room I’ve been sleeping in.

After we’re all settled in, I know there’s no way I can ever go back to sleeping in this bed alone. Three warm bodies all snuggling into me? Fuck yes please.

I’m out like a light in seconds.

“We have a little surprise for you, Lila,” Harrison says early the next morning. I’m snuggled into a pile of alpha, and I do not want to get up. “We’re going shopping,” he adds, pulling me into his body.

“We know you had a shitty week at work, so we want to spoil you,” Wes says as he presses a kiss to my forehead. “We would offer to spend the day in bed, licking your pussy until you come so many times you black out, but we can always do that tomorrow.”

My eyes pop open and meet Westley’s. He’s smiling, that twinkle of mischief that I like so much lights up his face.

“Our treat,” River murmurs on the other side of Wes, completely glossing over the orgasmic blackout offer.

“You don’t have to–” I start, but three growls cut me off. “I just meant–”

“We know we don’t have to, Lila. We want to. We fucking love the idea of spoiling you. If we can do something to make you happy, we’ll do it. It will be our pleasure, baby,” Wes says, caressing my cheek.

“Let us show you how much we like you, Lila,” Harrison begs, snuggling his face into my neck, and pressing kisses to my skin.

“Okay, I’ll be ready in half an hour,” I giggle. Once they make up their mind about doing something for me, there’s no changing it, and maybe I’m ready to accept that about them. And maybe even enjoy it too.

I rush through getting ready. I just really want to be close to them, and since they all went their separate ways to get ready as well, I had to spend the next half an hour alone.

I can’t afford to go shopping right now. I have too many bills, and even though these men aren’t going to ask me to pay rent, I still have debt to pay off.

Larry wasn’t good with money, and I had to put a lot on my credit cards just to get by.

But if letting the guys buy me a thing or two will make them happy, I can’t say I won’t enjoy the gifts. I’m an omega, after all.

“Ready?” Harrison asks when I walk into the living room.

“Yes,” I nod, grinning ear to ear.

“Let's go.”

The boutique is only a five-minute drive away, and the first thing I notice is how expensive it looks.

“Oh, wow, um. Are you sure about this? They look expensive.” I nibble my bottom lip, nervous about the price tags in there. They live in an apartment, and split the rent between three alphas, but still.

“They are,” River grins, taking my hand in his once we climb out of the car, and pulls me toward the door.

“I’d rather you didn’t look at the price tags, but if you do, just know we aren’t worried,” Wes says, opening the door for me and River. These men are crazy.

“Oh! H-hello sir!” The woman that works here says as we walk in. She’s dressed better than anything I own. This might not be the place for me.

“Lila has a 10 a.m. appointment,” River says, already leading me further into the store. “She’ll have a glass of champagne, please. Is everything we picked out in room four?”

“Yes, sir!” the woman says, hustling away as I’m led further inside. There are a couple of other women working, but they keep their distance, either helping other shoppers or organizing clothes and accessories.

“This place is definitely not in my price range,” I whisper-hiss at the guys.

“About that, baby girl. There’s something we want to tell you, but first, you have to try on the dress I picked out for you,” Harrison says, as he opens a dressing room door.

Of course, it’s a massive room with racks of clothing lining the walls, and a freaking pedestal in the middle of the circular room.

The floor to ceiling mirror is massive, and I gasp when I see everything fully.

“What the fuck, you guys?” I gasp… Turning around to push them back out the dressing room door, since they all followed me in here. “Get out, before we get banned or something! They’re going to kick us out!”

“Ha, not fucking likely,” Wes snorts, and my eyes go wide.

“What?” I glance from one man to the next, shaking my head.

“Don’t fuck this up,” Harrison hisses at his packmates. “Here, put this dress on, and we’ll tell you everything.”

“Champagne!” the woman says, knocking on the dressing room door. River opens it enough to take the glass before shutting it quickly.

“Here, this will help,” he says, handing it to me.

“Yeah,” is all I manage to say before taking the glass and downing it. The dress Harrison hands me is a floor length lavender gown. It’s extravagant, and I can’t imagine where I’d wear something like this. But it is beautiful, so with all three men watching me, I try the dress on.

“Fuck, you look beautiful.” Harrison grins, walking over and putting his hands on my hips.

“Like everything we’ve ever wanted,” River agrees.

“Thank you,” I blush, but now I really need some answers, because I saw the price tag on this bitch, and I could work for years and still never afford this dress. So how can these men afford it?

“We own this boutique, Lila. And others like it,” River says, pulling me away from Harrison, and into his arms. “We can afford everything in this store twice over, well, more than twice over.”

“And the apartment is just one of our properties here in the city to make our commutes easier. We own a house a little outside the city. We’re taking you there next,” Wes adds, looking smug.

“A house?” My brain stutters on the knowledge that this pack is more than financially stable. The beautiful apartment hinted at their wealth, but this is beyond what I had imagined.

“Six bedrooms, four bathrooms. A greenhouse, pool, and room for a playground. The nest is huge, baby. You’re going to love it.” Harrison looks so fucking excited, and it’s infectious.

“I can’t wait to make you come in every room,” Wes adds, winking.

“I hope you don't think–”

“Let me stop you right there, Lila. We know you like us for who we are and not our money. We weren’t trying to hide it from you.

And we're not using our money to try and manipulate you into being with us.

We're just ready to show you everything we have to offer you.” River pulls me in and kisses me, and I melt for him.

He didn't need me to say it. He already knows me so well.

“Can we take you to the house?” Harrison asks eagerly.

“I would like that,” I murmur. “Can we maybe save the shopping trip for another time, like maybe after I have time to process how wealthy you three are?”

“Sure. We already had some stuff sent to the house anyway. Plus, after we show you the house, we can take you to Home Nest and Beyond,” Wes says as he unzips the back of the fancy dress.

“I would like that,” I admit. I don’t know if I could handle a shopping trip centered on me, but things for the house? That sounds fun. We’re building something more. A home.

I don’t know what our future holds, but I think that’s okay. I’ll love every moment with them while I have them, and if one day things change, I’ll be okay.

I know what love should look like now.

Gentle and caring. Playful and fun. Free and comfortable.

This is what I’ve always wanted.

“I love you,” I say gently, rising to place a kiss against my alpha’s cheek. Wes freezes, but only for a second.

“Fuck, I love you too, Lila!” Wes spins me in his arms, kissing me silly.

“Wes, I’m getting dizzy!” I giggle, shaking my head until he puts me back on my feet.

“I’ve been in love with you since the day we met,” Wes admits, as Harrison pulls me into his arms.

“I love you so fucking much it hurts,” Harrison confesses, pulling me in for a long and steady kiss. He’s so romantic. I can’t imagine a day without him.

“I love you too,” I say breathlessly when he pulls away from the kiss to hug me tightly.

“And me, omega? How do you feel about me?” River asks, arms crossed over his chest.

“You, Alpha, you I love more than I ever imagined possible,” I confess, stepping before him, looking up into his eyes.

“Good, because I love you more than life itself, Lila,” River says, pulling me into his arms. I fit here perfectly.

Not a happy ending, but a happy beginning.
