Epilogue

Two weeks later

“I HOPE NOW THAT THE danger is over, you’re not expecting us to go back to just being friends,” Quinn teased, her eyes alight with mischief.

Knox grinned, rolling them over in bed so that she was pinned beneath him. He ducked, kissing her slow and sweet, letting her feel every inch of his hard body. “Hell no,” he said, his voice gravel. “You’re mine now. Should I remind you again?” he asked huskily.

She flushed, recalling Knox making love to her earlier. He’d turned her over and taken her from behind, Quinn screaming into the pillow as she came. She loved how physical he was with her, having no qualms about moving her into different positions and driving her absolutely wild.

It was the look of love in his eyes right now, however, that made her heart soar. Knox slid his fingers across her forehead, brushing back a few strands of her hair. He was always so damn gentle with her.

“I could use a reminder,” she said sultrily, wrapping her legs around his waist and pulling him closer. He growled and kissed her, hard, proceeding to make her scream his name once more and showing her exactly how much he adored her.

After they’d made love, they showered together and dressed. “We’re going to be late to Radley and Boone’s,” she commented.

“Eh. They’ve been late before, too,” he pointed out.

An hour later, and absolutely running late because of their quickie before they headed out, Knox and Quinn were standing in Radley’s beautiful condo.

It was in a luxury building in downtown Seattle.

Boone had moved in, and they were already talking about buying a home together so they could have a yard and a little bit of land.

Something a bit secluded and just for them.

“Wouldn’t you miss your condo?” Quinn asked. “You just bought it before starting at Shadow Security, didn’t you?”

Radley shrugged. “This made sense when I was single, but we’re ready for a place of our own.”

“You guys are dropping like flies,” Cooper joked. “First Boone, then Knox. Gage, Xaden, and I will be hitting the bars of Seattle alone.”

Quinn shot him a look. “Alone? You always have women surrounding you,” she pointed out.

Cooper grinned. “True that. What can I say? The ladies love them some Cooper.”

Quinn burst into laughter as the group continued ribbing him. She looked around, smiling, realizing everyone here was truly a friend. It was good to be home. It was good to be back in Seattle, yes, but it was the people who’d become like family and the man at her side that made everything worth it.

Knox snagged her hand, bringing it to his lips for a kiss. “You look happy,” he noted.

“I am happy,” she said, flashing him a soft smile.

Holt strode over, a beer in his hand, his expression unreadable. “Some of you might be taking a trip to Chicago soon,” he told the group.

“Chi-town?” Xaden asked.

Holt nodded. “Qureshi had contacts there. We need to monitor them and ensure nothing slips off our radar. We ended the plot from the homegrown terror cell, but there’s more of them out there. Quinn can assist Bravo Team with tech support. You’ll all stay overnight in the city,” Holt told them.

“Well, it’s gotta be better than holing up in Kabul,” Cooper said.

Quinn shuddered, recalling the entire team cramming into Sloane’s small home. “Please tell me we’re getting our own room,” she joked.

“We’re getting our own room,” Knox immediately said, his eyes warm.

“Thank God.”

The guys snickered beside them, but Knox pulled Quinn close, kissing her temple. Conversation continued around them, but his lips hovered by her ear. “I love you, sweetheart. Today. Tomorrow. For the rest of forever.”

She beamed at him, turning for a slow kiss. The men whooped around them, and she smiled, happy tears smarting her eyes. “I’ll love you forever, too.”

Holt’s phone buzzed just then, and he frowned as he read over the message. “We’ve got a new problem. An American living abroad has gone missing.”

“An American? Why isn’t the military taking point on this?” Boone asked, crossing his arms.

Holt muttered a curse. “Because she was never supposed to be there. According to the U.S. government, Sloane Ferguson doesn’t exist.”
