Chapter Twelve #2

Getting out of my car, I open the back door to grab the diaper bag from the floor where I placed it earlier. By the time I stand back up, Aaron is rushing to my side with a large smile on his face. He doesn’t stop until he’s got me wrapped up in a huge hug.

“I’m sorry they forced you to show up for this shit.

Roger’s parents are talking all sorts of shit about him still being behind bars and you not dropping the charges against him.

That’s going to be the focal point of tonight’s shitshow, Nessa.

The three of us are already fed up with all four of them and ready to beat the fuck out of Roger’s dad.

He’s whining like a bitch over his precious son being in jail and what a vicious bitch you are for letting him rot there,” Aaron informs me, his voice full of venom as he glares over his shoulder at the house.

“I’m not gonna drop the charges like I told the three of you before.

Roger is exactly where he belongs and honestly, I have a feeling walking in with Kaden will turn all attention toward me for that and no other reason.

Once it’s out that this baby isn’t Roger’s son, his parents will lose their shit and ours will follow their lead.

I’m about to be prosecuted in here. You know that right?

” I ask my baby brother as he releases me from his hold and reaches in to grab Kaden’s car seat.

Once he’s out of the car, the two of us make our way up the steps of the house and pause outside the door. As expected, the butler Oliver opens the door for us and greets me with a large smile. He’s always been one of my favorite people in this world and has protected me when he could.

“Miss Janessa, it’s so good to see you. You’ve been gone for far too long. And what is this you have with you?” Oliver questions me, his voice a whisper as he looks around for my parents to show up from the shadows.

“Oliver, this is my son Kaden. He’s the most precious person in the world to me. I’m sorry, but you’ve no longer got the top spot,” I tell him, giving him a quick hug before stepping back and smiling down at my son sleeping in his car seat.

“This is the one person I’ll ever give up my spot for. You know Aaron’s been trying to take it for as long as I can remember. I won’t ever give it up for him, but Kaden can gladly have it with my blessing,” Oliver says with a smile on his face as he leans down to get a closer look at my son.

Aaron huffs in indignation at the same argument we’ve had our entire lives.

This is our thing between my baby brother, Oliver, and me.

Nothing ever changes and Aaron and I both feel as if Oliver is more of a father to us than our own dad.

Oliver is the man I will always look up to and care about more than the man who gave me life.

My father is nothing more than a piece of shit who only cares about money and his reputation.

“Let’s get this shit over with,” I say, knowing we have to make an appearance sooner rather than later.

“You don’t have to go in there, Nessa. I can walk you and the baby back out to your car right now and you can leave. I’ll go back to Frostford with you if you want,” Aaron practically begs me, his voice low so he’s not overheard by anyone else.

“No. The sooner I face this shit, the quicker I can leave and put all this shit behind me. I’m not going to keep Kaden a secret from anyone.

He deserves more than that. My only concern is protecting him and keeping him away from everyone out to get me,” I say, knowing deep in my heart this is the only solution to the situation I find myself in.

“Okay,” Aaron sighs, lifting Kaden up higher in his arms and heading toward the formal sitting room.

Just before entering the room, I can hear the voices I hate the most in the world.

My parents and Roger’s parents. They’re all arguing and I hear my name several times.

About how worthless I am and that I’m a monster for locking Roger up over some bullshit that doesn’t mean anything.

He never hurt me and everything I’ve ever said about him is a lie and someone else hurt me.

I simply blamed Roger for it in order to get away from him and put him behind bars where he doesn’t belong.

“Here the little bitch is now,” Barb says, her voice grating on my nerves as she stands from the couch and crosses her arms over her chest while glaring at me.

“And here’s the bitch who can’t accept the fact that her son is a piece of shit abuser and rapist,” I counter, my voice laced with venom as I step closer to Aaron and in front of the car seat so Kaden is protected.

“How dare you!” Barb shouts, waking Kaden up as everyone’s attention is drawn to him.

Joseph and Daniel rush to stand with Aaron and I as my parents get off the couch and take a few steps toward us.

“What the hell is going on here?” my dad shouts, his voice filling the room and making me jump.

“I’m here for dinner just like you requested.

If this is gonna turn into something where all you do is try to force me into getting Roger, the pathetic piece of shit, out of jail before he’s sentenced to prison, then I’m leaving.

There’s no reason. I honestly don’t know why I bothered to hope why I thought you’d actually want to know you have a grandson and see him.

That’s on me and it’s a mistake I’ll never make again,” I say, anger filling me because I’ve never stood up against my parents this way before.

I’ve always kind of quietly rebelled in my own way.

“You have a son?” my mother questions me, stepping even closer and trying to get a look at Kaden while my brothers stand in front of him.

“Roger has a child with you?” Barb speaks up, her voice hard and cold.

“No. I have a son with someone none of you know. Roger can’t have children if you didn’t know. Ask his doctor. He’ll never give you a grandchild and I will never get him out of jail,” I state emphatically so maybe these morons will realize I’m not bluffing and I refuse to help them.

“Are you fucking kidding me. You walk into this house with a bastard and are proud of the fact that you have a child out of wedlock! This is not how you were raised and I will not allow this bastard to be part of our family. Get the fuck out of my house and never step foot back inside,” my father shouts louder than ever before as Kaden starts screaming in surprise.

“Good. I never wanted to be part of your fucking family to begin with. Nicole is the only daughter you have. Don’t contact me ever again for any reason.

As far as Roger goes, I hope he fucking rots in prison and never sees the light of day again.

If you fucking come near me again, I will call the fucking cops without hesitation.

And, don’t think they don’t have leads tying you to the fire at my house that almost killed my son and I.

The cops are on to you, Barb and David,” I state as Barb’s face goes pale and David slumps down farther on the couch.

“What is she talking about?” my mother questions her, shock filling her voice.

“Nothing. This bitch is lying! I don’t even know where she lives,” Barb lies as I look at her and can’t help but laugh my ass off.

“You don’t know where I live? I have a recording of you sitting in my living room waiting for me to get home the day you threatened me and begged me to get Roger out of jail.

The cops have a copy of it,” I say as Daniel and Joseph wrap their arms around my shoulders and turn me away from my parents and Roger’s.

“Let’s get the fuck outta here,” Aaron says, lifting Kaden’s seat up closer to him.

“We need to get Little Man calmed down and away from the filth in this house. Mother. Father. You can accept this as the last time I will ever show my face in this house. Don’t call me or ask me for anything.

I am no longer your son and want nothing to do with you. ”

“You can’t do that Aaron! Why would you choose this slut over your family?” my father questions him, indignation filling his voice as he steps closer to us.

“I can do anything I want. You don’t control me and I don’t depend on you for anything.

You wanna cut me out of your will? Go right ahead.

Your money is tainted by your greed and every evil deed you’ve ever done in your life,” Aaron says, walking out of the living room and heading for the door as Daniel, Joseph, and I hang back for a second.

“What Aaron said, you can take as coming from me as well. I will always support my baby sister and love her no matter where her life takes her. You’re pieces of shit who only want to have us around when we’re agreeable and doing as you order us.

I’m tired of your fucking games and of being a pawn,” Daniel says as Joseph nods in agreement without saying a word to them.

“You’re really gonna choose this skank over your family? Over the money and everything we can offer you?” our father questions, glaring at me while talking to his sons.

“We are. Janessa will always be the most important person in our lives. You don’t mean a fucking thing to us and never will again.

Barb and David, I’d start preparing to join your son in prison.

If it’s the last thing I do, I’ll make sure you end up behind bars with nothing to your name.

You’ll be disgraced in your social circles and all the money you’re so proud of will disappear.

Fucking pieces of shit!” Joseph speaks up, pure hatred filling his voice as he glares from one set of parents to the other.

“Nessa, let’s get the fuck out of here. There’s no reason for us to stay in a place monsters are infiltrating.

I hope Nicole lives up to your standards and can give you everything you want. ”

Without another word the three of us leave and join Aaron just inside the door of the place all of my nightmares started to take shape.

At the door, I check on Kaden who is now in my brother’s arms as Aaron rocks him gently back and forth while Oliver watches on with a soft smile on his face.

I hug him goodbye for the last time, knowing I’ll never step foot back in this house of villains again.

My parents no longer exist to me and I’ll forever do everything in my power to take them down and ensure everyone they try to prove themselves to will hate them and know the truth of who they are deep down.

If it takes every last breath I have to give, I’ll ensure my parents, Barb, David, and Roger get exactly what they deserve and pay for all of their crimes.
