Chapter Seventeen Lash
When we got to the hospital Grim and Riot were standing outside waiting for us.
I’m surprised they are here and not with Sophie and Bulldog.
I know Peyton said that the Untamed also had brothers come in from North Carolina, but I did not think it would be the President and Vice President.
I get out of the car and head around it towards the back doors and they are headed our way.
I wait to open the doors to let the kids out so I can talk to them.
“What are you guys doing here? When Peyton said you sent brothers up here I didn’t think she meant you’d come.”
“Well Sera wanted to meet the new babies, plus she wanted to see Sophie, so we are headed there next. We wanted to check on you and the kids before we headed out. We only flew in for a couple days. We are leaving some of the men here though to help keep everybody safe.
Ten here and ten at the hospital with Sophie. We are gonna talk to Luca about possibly having some of our brothers stay at the clubhouse for a little while to help you guys handle this stuff and give you some more hands. I know you’re stretched thin. You guys have a big club,
but also have a lot of families.” Grim says.
“I’m sure he’d appreciate the help. We do have a lot of people. Right now we are just trying to find everybody tied into this and I know you guys have been helping with that too. Plus the Moretti’s have been helping out, along with our friends on the force.”
“Yeah, but you’re family. We are gonna make sure everyone is solid. We also figured we’d help you get the kids upstairs. You’ve got six little ones in here, we want to make sure you’ve got some more hands.”
“Thank you. I’m sure they’ll love seeing you. They always love seeing their Uncle Gavin and Uncle Garrett.”
With that I open the back door and as I suspected I’ve got some happy little kiddos on my hands.
Gavin and Garrett grab Delaney, Dash, Dallas and Dare while Declan, Daisy and I grab some of the bags.
I might have to come back out for the rest of the stuff, but at least I know that I have enough stuff for a couple of days.
I’ll probably have to get more, but here’s hoping it won’t be too long.
My mom and dad park next to us as we are unloading, they were running a bit behind us making sure they had everything and making sure they made all the calls they could make.
I talked to them on the drive over, mom got in touch with the school and they are going to send her things so she can homeschool the kids.
Which is amazing. She’s a superhero and honestly I don’t know what we would do without her.
I’m glad she has teaching experience and knows what the kids need to learn.
Dad gets out of the car and comes over and grabs the rest of the bags from the back of our SUV telling me he and mom are gonna stay at a hotel nearby so they won’t be unloading.
So we head on in, with Garrett and Gavin leading the way.
We get all of us loaded in the elevator and it starts moving.
I’ve never really been to a VIP floor in a hospital before and honestly didn’t think they’d do this for kids that were in the NICU, but I guess helping the hospital gives you privileges.
We stop at a room and once Garrett and Grim open the door I’m in awe of what I am seeing. This isn’t a hospital room it’s like a fucking apartment. Peyton underplayed what we were walking into when we got her.
“Woah.” Declan says as he walks in before me.
Garret and Grim chuckle, “Yeah when Knox decided to move here and knowing this was probably where Peyton was going to work he got on the board here, some of the legal aspects of the club. They decided they wanted to upgrade the hospital's VIP area so the club could use it in situations like this.
They’ve got the room for the patient and then there are two rooms for guests, a living room space with couches and tvs, a little kitchenette situation. We figure this is a good situation for if something happens to the club and they need to have protection.” Grim stated.
“Peyton did not mention this.”
“Yeah I wanted to keep it as a surprise.”
Peyton says as she walks out of the room I’m assuming the boys are in.
She walks over and pulls in each kid for hugs and kisses.
“You guys want to meet your brothers? They are so excited to meet you, but just wanted to give you a heads up. Right now they have little masks on their faces to help them breathe because they were born a little early. Their lungs still need some help. But everything is looking good.
They are in little incubators, but you can touch them through the hole on the side. Hopefully soon they will be in little cribs so you can just reach in. They are a good weight for their development. I think Sophie was further along than the doctor thought she was. They are both very healthy,
like I said just their lungs just need a little extra help. If you want at some point I can help you hold them. Maybe snuggle with them, but that’s for the biggest siblings and daddy.”
She looks at me and smiles, “They are so adorable, Tobs. Sophie did so good.”
I nod my head and put the bags down and head to the room that she left without a word to anybody.
I think Peyton knew I needed a minute and kept the kids in the other room.
I could hear them talking and asking questions.
When I walked in Whip was sitting next to one of the cribs and Knox was sitting next to the other. They looked up at me and Knox stood up.
“We will give you a minute, I’m going to go check on the triplets. They are in one of the other rooms.”
With that he gets up and heads out. Whip looks at me and gives me a sad smile, “These boys, they have strong Chaos blood, brother, they are going to be okay. Just like Sophie. She still has to kick all of our asses, she's not going anywhere.”
With that he gets up and slaps me on the back as he heads out the door.
I walk over to the first crib and look down at the little bundle that is wrapped in a swaddle with a little oxygen mask going into his nostrils.
He’s also wearing a tiny little Devil’s Chaos hat and from what I can tell Peyton decked him out with a Devil’s Chaos onesie.
He’s got little wisps of brown curly hair poking out from the bottom of the hat.
I reach down and put my hand on his belly just feeling it rise and fall and as I do he stirs and opens his little eyes.
His blueish green eyes looking back at me and I can only imagine this little guy is going to have my green eyes.
“Hey there Leon, I’m your daddy. I know this isn’t how you expected to come into the world, but your mama and I are so grateful to have you. We are so blessed to have you and your brother join our family. I’m so excited to watch you get big and strong.”
As I sit and talk with him his eyes begin to flutter closed and he falls back asleep.
With another glance at him, I walk over to the next crib and look at the other little boy we have.
He is in a black Devil’s Chaos hat and onesie where his brother was in crimson red.
Except what I see peeking out of his hat is little blonde wisps of hair.
“Hey Lucas. You and your brother are so handsome and so strong. I do have some excited people here to meet you both. Your older siblings are so excited to get to see you, we just wish your mama was here to see you. We love you both so much.
Your mama is going to get better and we are going to be one big happy family.”
With that I take my phone out and take some pictures of them individually and send them to Bulldog.
Me: share with Soph. Tell her they need her to wake up and get better so she can meet them in person. Any change?
Papa J: oh Toby, they are beautiful. I’ll share them with her and pass along your message. No change yet, she is still stable. So that is good. How are the kids?
Me: they took it as well as you’d think. Deck definitely had a hard time. He broke down.
Papa J: well send me pictures of all my grandbabies when they meet their new additions. You didn’t tell me their names yet.
Me: I will send you tons of pictures and videos. Going to make sure to document everything for Soph. I’m trying my hardest to keep it together right now for the kids, but this is killing me. She should be here. I’m going to rain down hell on these mother fuckers.
Me: Also their names are Lucas and Leon.
Bulldog: you went away from the D names huh? Well you better have more babies or they are going to feel left out that they were not included on your weird D name obsession.
With that I put my phone away and tell the boys I’m going to grab their siblings and they should prepare for some Chaos.
