Don’t attempt to seduce your bodyguard
DON’T ATTEMPT TO SEDUCE YOUR BODYGUARD
Brynn
It only took two more days for my resolve to completely crumble. I really thought I had more self-restraint than that, but apparently all it took was a sexy, competent bodyguard to prove me wrong.
Everything he did turned me on.
Making dinner for us? Turned on.
Starting the fire in just a T-shirt and a pair of perfectly fitted jeans that sculpted his ass? Turned on.
And don’t even get me started on watching this man chop wood. Jesus Christ. It should’ve been illegal to watch, it was so pornographic, especially when he took his shirt off.
I’d had to take an ice-cold shower and replay the moment in my mind afterward.
Him running his forearm over his forehead to wipe off his sweat, then removing his shirt by grabbing the back of the neck and pulling it up over his head.
The way it slowly revealed his six-pack abs and the V-lines that teased me as they disappeared into the band of his jeans.
His thick biceps and veiny forearms. The way he tucked his shirt into the back pocket of his jeans and then grabbed the ax and lifted it into the air like it was nothing, simultaneously flexing every muscle in his arms and torso.
I’m pretty sure I’d drooled, I was so mesmerized by his movements as I watched from the small window above the kitchen sink.
I needed another cold shower just thinking about it.
Except tonight, I’d resolved to finally do something about these feelings Wyatt stirred up in me.
I couldn’t take this for another twelve days, and I was about ninety percent confident I wasn’t alone in these feelings.
His eyes lingered on me just a little longer than they should, his gaze more heated than was professional.
A nervous breath escaped me as I stared at myself in the mirror.
I was wearing the sexiest thing I’d packed—a silk babydoll nightgown in a deep emerald green that complemented my fair complexion.
It fell high on my thighs, but that was one of the things I’d loved about it because it showed off my long, toned legs.
I wasn’t wearing a bra, and my nipples were hard pebbles visible under the smooth silk.
My hair fell in loose waves past my shoulders, and my face was free of makeup—something I’d noticed Wyatt seemed to like best since those were always the moments his gaze lingered the longest.
I stepped out of the bathroom where I’d been changing since we got to the cabin because the loft offered exactly zero privacy from the floor below.
Wyatt was just finishing up the dishes from dinner, and he glanced over at me as he placed a glass on the shelf and closed the cupboard.
The muscle in his jaw tightened and his dark eyes glided down my body with such fierce focus it made my core tighten and my inner thighs grow slick.
No man had ever made me as wet as this man did with just one look.
Feeling emboldened by his stare, I stepped forward, closing the short distance between us in only four steps until my body was practically flush with his.
I was out of practice when it came to seduction, and personally I preferred when the guy was the seducer.
But I couldn’t take the tension anymore, so I was putting myself out there and hoping Wyatt would catch me.
His Adam’s apple bobbed in his throat as he swallowed, but otherwise, he didn’t make a single move.
I placed my hand on his shirt-covered abs which flexed immediately at my touch.
Sliding my hand slowly up to his chest, then over his pecs, I tried to calm my staccato breathing.
My heart raced as my gaze met his. “You feel this too, right?”
Okay, so not the sexiest thing I’d ever said.
Clearly, I was way out of practice in the seduction department, but come on.
Wasn’t the guy supposed to see me in my barely there silk negligee and not be able to help himself?
My heart sped up as he stood frozen like a statue.
Why wasn’t he ravishing me? Why wasn’t he touching me or answering me?
Heat flooded my cheeks as embarrassment slammed into me like a semitruck going full speed into a rock wall.
Oh my God. What had I done? I almost choked on my own saliva as I tried to swallow.
“I’m s-sorry,” I stammered as I stepped back, removing my hand from his body as if he’d burned me. And maybe he had because my whole body felt like it was being incinerated.
God, I’d just accosted my bodyguard. What the hell had I been thinking? Was I really so starved for affection and touch that I imagined everything between us? Maybe all those lingering stares were really just him doing his job and making sure I was fine.
I spun around, hoping he couldn’t see how pink my cheeks had gotten with shame, but I only made it one step before his hand shot out and grabbed my arm, stopping me in my tracks. I couldn’t bear to face him; there was no way he’d miss the humiliation setting my face on fire.
“Brynn,” he growled my name and I dropped my head, accepting defeat.
I only hoped he’d keep his rejection short, so I could get up to the loft and bury myself under the comforter for the next twelve days. There was no way I’d be able to face him after this.
“I’m sorry,” I said again, proud of myself for keeping my voice mostly composed.
There was only the slightest quiver that gave away my shame.
“I misread the situation. It won’t happen again.
” Maybe if I reassured him before he could rip into me with how unprofessional my behavior was, we could skip the rest of this conversation and pretend this moment never happened.
My only saving grace at this point was that no one else was around to witness my embarrassment.
He spun me around, and before I could say another word, his firm lips were on mine.
This was no sweet, tender kiss. It was rough, passionate, needy.
He growled low in his throat as his other hand wrapped around my neck to hold me tight against him as his tongue slid across my lips.
They parted on a gasp of surprise and he took full advantage, licking into my mouth and kissing me so thoroughly, I was sure my body would’ve melted into a puddle at his feet if he hadn’t been holding me against him.
