Chapter 17 #2
“Answer it.” Leaning over the console, I kiss her temple before putting the truck in Drive and pointing us toward home.
Dropping to the mattress in my hotel room, I sling my arm over my eyes to block out the light and groan.
Tonight’s game was brutal, and we walked away with a loss, losing by one point.
One single missed field goal, but that’s football.
You win some. You lose some. I’ve been lucky enough to be part of a team that wins more than it loses, but those losses hit hard.
Grabbing my phone, I make a video call to Bellamy.
I know she’s probably in bed, waiting for me to call, and I don’t want her to wait up any longer than she needs to for me to say goodnight.
I don’t know what it is, but I won’t sleep when I’m away from home if I don’t get to talk to her. My dream girl has become my addiction.
“Hey, babe,” she greets. “Tough one,” she says.
“Yeah. But we can’t win them all, right?”
She nods. “Right.”
“How’s our baby girl?” I ask.
Bellamy’s smile could light up all of Nashville. “She’s perfect. She’s been active today. We might have a kicker on our hands.”
I chuckle. “You feeling okay?”
“I am. I miss you. I wish I were there to cheer you up.”
“Yeah? What would you do to cheer me up?” I ask, already feeling better just seeing her smiling face and hearing her voice.
“Hmm, kisses. Lots of kisses.”
“You know I love your kisses, Dream Girl.”
She giggles. “I could run my fingers through your hair to relax you.” She pauses. “I could get you off,” she says, her voice small.
“How?” I ask gruffly.
“My mouth? My hand? Whatever you want.”
“Your pussy?” I ask, and her face heats.
“That, too.”
“What are you wearing?” I ask, reaching down and gripping my cock through my sweats.
“Just one of your T-shirts and panties.”
“Show me.”
She pans the phone so that I can see her. “Nothing special,” she says, bringing the phone back to her face.
“Everything special,” I counter. “Take it off.”
“What?”
“Strip for me, baby.”
“If I’m getting naked, so are you,” she sasses.
“Done.” I put the phone down, strip my T-shirt over my head, then, in one motion, my sweats and boxer briefs go, as well. When I pick the phone back up, my girl is sitting naked on our bed. “Fuck, you’re a vision.”
“Are we really doing this?” she asks.
“We don’t do anything you don’t want, Bell.”
“I want. I miss you so much, Reid.”
“I know, baby. I miss you, too.”
“Show me.”
“You wanna see my cock, Bell?”
“Yep,” she says, popping the p.
“Show me your belly.”
She pans the phone across her belly, and I drink her in. Never in my wildest dreams did I ever imagine thinking a pregnant woman was sexy, but here I am, drooling over her curves, and the swell of where our baby girl is growing inside her.
“So sexy,” I say, gripping my cock, and giving it a rough tug.
“I don’t know how to do this,” she says, laughing. “I’m killing the mood, aren’t I?”
“Never,” I assure her. “If I were there, where would you want my hands?”
“My breasts. They’re so sensitive,” she says.
“Touch them for me. Show me what you would want me to do.”
“I wanna see, too,” she pants and tweaks a pert nipple. Her back arches off the bed.
“Fuck, knowing you’re watching me makes me hard.”
“Looks like you were already,” she teases.
“Are you wet for me, Dream Girl?”
“Mm-hmm,” she moans.
“Show me.”
“That’s going to be challenging,” she says, before moving the camera to show me. She shuffles around and props the phone up on a pillow between her legs. My girl is a genius.
My cock aches, and I can already feel my release building. “Touch it. Rub your clit.” My words are clipped.
“Like this?” she asks, taking my direction and gently rubbing circles over her clit, while pinching her nipples.
“Just like that, baby.”
“Reid.” She moans my name.
“I’m right here. I can almost imagine your pussy milking my cock and not my hand.”
“Oh, damn,” she mutters, sliding a single digit inside, and pumping slowly. I can’t see her eyes, but I imagine them filled with desire, the way they do every time I’m inside her.
Fuck. I miss home. I miss my girl. Traveling this season without her has been torture.
I miss her before we even leave Nashville.
A few more years, as long as my body holds out, and then I’ll retire.
I’ll never have to leave her or our kids again.
If they can’t be there, I just won’t go, because not sleeping next to her every night is not an option.
I’ve never thought about a time when I would be looking forward to hanging up my cleats, but knowing I’ll have Bellamy and our kids—because yes, I want more—the fear of losing the game I love doesn’t quite hit like it used to.
“Reid.” She calls out my name, and I can see her pussy gush all over her hand.
“Bell!” I call out with a groan as I release all over my stomach.
“Wow,” she says breathily, and brings the phone back to her face.
“There’s my girl.” I smile at her.
“I was supposed to be making you feel better,” she says.
“Together,” I tell her. “That’s how we do it, baby. There is no me without you.” It’s not I love you, but it’s damn close. I need to tell her. I just want the moment to be perfect.
“Together,” she repeats.
“How was your day?”
She tosses her head back in laughter, and all I can do is sit here and smile. Before I called her, I was exhausted and over the day, and now, I just want to keep listening to her laugh.
“My day was good. Nothing eventful happened. I came home, heated up some leftover lasagna from last night, and watched the game.”
“You’re feeling okay?”
“I’m fine. We both are,” she says, rubbing her belly. She’s still naked, and so am I, but neither of us makes a move to change that, even though I should. I’m definitely going to need another shower, but no way will I cut this call short before she’s ready.
“Did you order anything for the new house?” I left her a card in her name for my account and told her to go crazy.
“Not yet.”
“Bell, baby, we need things. All the things,” I tell her, and she laughs.
“I want to do it together.”
“And we can, but we need stuff. That’s a big-ass house we’re moving into.” Six bedrooms and eight bathrooms, with a full finished basement. We need a lot more furniture.
“I’ll buy a few things.”
“And I know we need stuff for baby girl. If you see something you love, buy it. I have no idea what we need, just that babies take a lot.”
“They do.” She smiles. “I want to pick the furniture out together.”
“Okay. We’ll do that when I get home. Right after we move into the new place.”
“You think we can do that in one weekend?”
“Yep. I have everyone lined up. My parents and your mom are even coming to help.”
“Really?”
“Yeah, the only person I didn’t invite was your dad.”
“Good call. How’s he been?” she asks.
“Dirty looks, but he’s not been as much of an asshole as he was in the beginning. It’s a side of him I’ve never seen before, but that’s all right. I’m following your lead, baby.”
“I think it’s best that he sits this one out.”
“Maybe once we’re settled, we can have him over for dinner or something?” I suggest.
“Maybe,” she replies, covering her yawn.
“Get some rest. I’ll see you tomorrow, Dream Girl.”
“Good night, Reid.”
“Night.” Tossing my phone onto the bed, I rush to take a quick shower and climb back into bed. We roll out first thing in the morning, and I can’t wait to get home to my girls.
