ADELAIDE
I stared at my phone when it was time to go home. I was ridiculously excited to hang out with Tyson again. We lived in a college town and the club that Sophia and I frequented was always busy, even on a Monday night. It was kind of insane actually but also, super fun.
Tyson: Pick you up at six?
Me: Works for me
I would get sweaty from dancing anyways, so there wasn’t any use in getting a shower before going out.
Tyson: Dinner beforehand?
Me: Yep
Tyson: Where?
Me: I’m easy, you pick.
I hated making decisions for people. I like it better when someone else plans it. I picked what we did anyways, he can pick where we go.
The more I sat, the more fidgeting I did. Did I fuck this up already?
“What’s wrong with you today? Is this about what happened this weekend?” Sophia threw herself on the chair in front of me. “You’ve been distracted all day.”
“The meeting with Laurel was fine. After the first initial blast of videos and things, it seems to have leveled off.” Laurel was great and efficient.
She was able to tame down the information on Tyson and Vance that did get out and keep the attention on me.
It was the least that I could do since I was the one who put their name out there to begin with.
She leaned forward, waiting for an answer. “Sooo….”
“So, I have a date tonight with Tyson and for some reason I’m just…out of it. I want to see him again but now that I’ve been with them both the pressure seems to be higher.” I pulled my hair down and then put it back up.
“What are you doing?” She did seem genuinely interested, not just to mock me. I should know better.
“I thought that going out to the club again would be alright, burning off some nervous energy but as the day goes on, I’m starting to hate the idea. I’d like to get to know him better and I can’t do that if we are at the club.”
“Then just message him you beautiful idiot.” She stood up and tipped over my pen holder. I rolled my eyes at her. She loved to mess with me, even if it was just to make me pick up pens.
“Thanks for that.” I picked up the few pens that scattered across the desk.
Sophia leaned over the desk, glaring at me. “I’m jealous you get all of that amazing dick and I get none.”
“Sucks to be you.” I met her glare. Sophia was a beautiful woman, but she was a handful and intimidating to be around if you didn’t know her as the sweetheart that I knew her as.
“Not. Fair.” Sophia stood up and flipped me off. “Have a great night. Bitch.” She grinned at me now.
“Thanks.” I checked my phone and now had half an hour before Tyson would be at my place. Fuck.
Me: Scratch the previous plan. We are staying in tonight.
Not even a minute later he responded.
Tyson: Even better.
Me: Wear your comfiest gray sweats. *wink emoji*
Tyson: Excuse me *skeptical face*
Me: You heard me.
I grabbed my purse and walked past Sophia. “See you tomorrow.” I was about to enjoy a giant man, with a heart of gold and a dick that would satisfy me for hours.
“If you aren’t walking funny tomorrow, you aren’t doing it right.” She hollered after me and I blushed. Ducking my head from wandering eyes.
“I think I’ll work from home tomorrow.” I laughed and heard her laughing behind me.
