ADELAIDE
The fight was in a week and I hadn’t spent much time with Vance, I knew he needed to focus and I was nothing but a distraction.
Then there was Tyson. He messaged me, but kept it to business.
Well, now he did. First he asked me to call him.
Then as more reports came out about Becky, Tyson and Tj I backed way off and he did too.
Unless it was to thank me for introducing him to Laurel or for my help keeping Tj out of the press.
“Hey girl.” Sophia peeked her head in and grinned. “What are you doing?”
“Working.” I answered like I wasn't just looking up articles about Vance’s fight.
“Whatcha working on?” Then Mari, Lena and Norah filed in. Fucking great. I could maybe fool Sophia, but I wouldn’t fool all of them.
“We have an article coming up. Maybe I’m working on that.” I closed my computer and sat back.
Mari sat on the corner of my desk and opened my computer. “I see Vance.” She grinned. “Were you dreaming about your adorable men?”
“They are not mine.” I huffed. “But they are adorable.” She wasn’t wrong there.
“Have you talked to Mr. Pierced Cock and Mr. Cocky lately?” Sophia sat on the opposite corner of Mari.
That’s when I saw Mari holding something.
I peeked around her and she twisted, then handed off an envelope to Lena, who then handed it to Norah.
“What are you hiding?” I peeked around them so far that I almost fell over and Mari caught me.
“Hey! Is that for me?” I made grabby hands and Norah held up an envelope with scratchy man handwriting on it.
“It is for you. But first, check your phone.” Mari put my phone in front of me.
Tyson: Please come to the fight. I know it would mean the world to Vance. And me too.
“Are those tickets for the fight?” I was floored.
I didn’t know that they’d want me there, but on the other hand I wasn’t about to assume they’d invite me.
I’d only met them a few weeks ago, I figured tickets were sold out.
At least that’s what I saw online. I did look to see if I could buy tickets.
“Text the poor man back.” Lena giggled.
“Has he been hounding all of you?” I felt like I could cry.
Sophia grinned. “Text Mr. Pierced Cock.”
Me: Of course I’ll go.
Tyson: I’ll send a car for you.
“Here you go.” Norah presented the ticket to me. “Don’t forget to wave at us who are stuck at home.”
Sophia pouted next to me. “I wish I could watch two hot guys fight.”
“Vance is the only one fighting. But I’ll be sure to take pictures.” I looked at Tyson’s contact picture. It was one I took from the internet of him fighting. He was so fucking hot and I loved the picture, so I saved it.
“I heard from a little bird that Tj and Becky will be there.” Mari squeezed my shoulder. “How do you feel about that?”
“That’s Tyson’s family. I don’t have to feel any way about it.” I fucking hated it. But it wasn’t my business. So I would keep my opinions to myself.
“You're a good person Addy. Don’t change.” Mari stood up and motioned for the rest of the girls to follow her. “Meeting this afternoon, see you there.” I was left staring at the ticket for the fight between Vance Langston and Tyler Warren.
This was really happening.
