Epilogue

"Are you ready?" Wren is sitting on her stool next to the tattoo chair in her workroom. She has it decorated with pictures filling every wall. Some are of us, others are of her and her brother, and the rest are pictures she's taken here at the shop. She's really come into her own here.

"I guess," I say, past the lump in my throat.

"Nervous?" She grins down at me. Her tattoo gun is ready to be put to my skin.

"A little."

"I can't believe this is your first tat. I assumed your sister would have already given you one."

"Nope," Bianca interrupts from the door. "He never allowed me that pleasure."

"Because you would give me a dumb ass tattoo like the one Charleigh gave Jake when they first met."

Wren shakes her head at my accusation. "I heard about that."

"It's what brought them together," Bianca grins. "That bit of ink started their happily ever after."

"Can you go now?" I groan. "I don't need you standing over me for this."

"Fine, fine," she throws her hands up. "I've got an appointment, anyway."

She walks off, leaving me and Wren alone once again. It's hard finding time together since I've started classes and she gets off late, but we're making it work.

"Hey," she leans down and gives me a quick kiss. "I'll be as gentle as possible."

Worried my voice will shake if I open my mouth, I nod. She's already transferred the design to my back, and within seconds her gun meets skin. I jerk at the motion, but she pats my arm, calming me down.

The design is simple. A crescent moon surrounded by stars. One for each person in my family. My way of honoring them.

It doesn't take long for her to finish it. It's small. I didn't want to do an enormous piece my first time in the chair. "That wasn't so bad."

"I told you." She grins after setting her supplies aside. She moves to straddle my lap. Her long hair falling down around us. A curtain to the outside world. "I." A kiss on my neck. "Can't." One on my chin. "Wait." The corner of my mouth. "To cover you in my art."

This time, her mouth meets mine. My tongue teasing at the seam until she allows me entrance. This is what I've always imagined, and I hope it never ends.
