Epilogue

Harmony

I’m the luckiest woman in the world.

I take my first step toward Elias while holding onto my dad’s arm.

It took us a long time to get here, but I proudly hold onto his arm as he guides me down the aisle.

Once I reached back out to him, he made it his personal mission to be a part of my life—attending Summer’s birthday parties, hosting barbeques and inviting Elias’s family …

My gaze clashes with Elias’s, and I swear I see tears brimming in his eyes. He’s wearing his fitted black tux with the biggest smile on his face. John, who stands right beside him as his best man, pulls out a handkerchief and hands it to my husband-to-be. This time, the right one.

Our small wedding ceremony is in Sully’s backyard.

Birds chirp from the trees nearby. White wooden chairs are placed in two rows, decorated with fresh red roses.

Off to the side are tables with lavender tablecloths and matching chairs for our reception.

Our closest friends from town are scattered throughout the crowd.

John has a small smirk like he’s thinking he knew this would happen. And beside John is Victor. Elias and Victor became fast friends after they bonded over their hospital stay. Serenity, Summer, Abigail, and Kami all stand next to the arch in matching magenta dresses.

There’s no Anita throwing false accusations at me or Victor’s mother aiding in trying to turn him against me. Instead, I have my fiancé’s sister by my side and his mother figure sitting in the front row with happy tears in her dark eyes.

I reach Elias and take my spot next to him. He grabs my hands, and our Justice of the Peace starts talking, but I don’t hear his words. All I can concentrate on is the love of my life and the happiness dancing in his eyes.

Elias must be listening because he starts his vows. “Harmony, I promise to love you forever. I never stopped. Being with you has been the best time of my life, and I can’t wait to grow old with you.”

Someone sniffles behind me, and without even looking, I know it’s Abigail. She’s the biggest closet romantic I’ve ever met.

“Elias, even when I felt unworthy of love, you showed me I am worthy. I know growing old with you will be my best adventure yet.”

The Justice of the Peace says some other stuff I don’t hear, but when he finally says, “I now pronounce you husband and wife,”

I’m spurred into action, wrapping my arms around Elias’s neck like I’ve done a million times before, and I know we will do it many million times more. He leans down, heat dancing in his eyes. Our lips touch, and everything feels right in the world.
