Chapter 15 #2

He grabs the coffee and takes a sip before looking down at the cup. “Because it was always a day where people hung out and enjoyed it with their friends.” He shrugs. “Nina would always go out with hers, dressed up and come back saying how much fun it was, while I was at home handing out candy.”

“Blake.”

“Nope. We’re not pitying me today. Today is different. I’m going to my first Halloween party and we’re going to dress up, drink, dance, the whole nine yards.”

“Yeah?” An excited smile forms on my lips. “All of it?”

His brows pull together. “Oh god. I don’t know if I like that look.”

“How do you feel about matching costumes?” My grin grows.

***

“I feel stupid,” Blake mutters as we walk towards the football house.

“You look awesome. It was like that costume was made for you. You already had the black hair.”

“Yeah, but this straw hat looks stupid on me,” he grumbles, glaring at me like he wants my head to explode.

I chuckle. “Stop saying stupid. You wanna know what's stupid? A gay man dressing up as a character who is literally obsessed with women and gets so horny for them he gets a nosebleed, because of the dirty things he wants to do to them.”

I wanted to pick costumes of something both Blake and I liked. The whole super hero thing is overdone, so I thought why not go as people from our favorite anime.

Blake is Luffy and I went as Sanji. Thought it would be easiest as we each share the same hair color as the characters we’re dressed up as.

“Yeah, but at least he's an attractive man. My character is a boy,” he deadpans.

“Not a kid, a teenager. Not far off from your age. Stop overthinking it.” I wrap my arm around his shoulders. “I can assure you, there will be people here with much more stupid costumes than ours. Not saying ours are stupid, because they’re not.”

“If you say so.”

He’s an extra angry kitten tonight. I’m not sure if it’s because that's who he is, or if he’s really not happy to be here.

I tried to get him to agree to do something else, but he insisted on going to the party. As soon as he looks like he’s not having a good time, we’re out of here.

“Let’s go find the girls. Lexie texted me that everyone is here. Even Ellie and her guys, minus Theo. He stayed home with the kids. It would be weird to have the dean of the school here.”

“Yeah. That would be weird.”

“We’re going to have fun. Just us and our friends, ignore everyone else. Also, I do have good news!”

“Yeah, what's that?” He looks up at me with a suspicious glint in his eyes.

“Mickey and some of the other guys on the team are skipping the party and going up to Wicker’s point to drink and do stupid shit.” I roll my eyes. “Dumb for them, great for us.”

That seems to bring a bit of a perk back into him. “Good.” He nods.

When we get inside people start saying hi to me. I go to remove my arm from Blake, not wanting him to be uncomfortable if people start thinking we’re together. I couldn’t care less, I want to show him off to the world. But we’re not together. Yet.

When I go to move, though, Blake leans in closer, looking around like he’s nervous.

“You’re going to be fine,” I whisper in his ear. “The girls are out back. Let’s go find them.”

He nods and I lead him through the party, grinning on the inside that he hasn’t moved away.

“Blakey Poo!” Val cheers when she sees us. “Look at you.”

Bonus about having Brody here is everyone has kept a nice distance from the fire where Ellie and her partners are sitting with our friends. That gives a nice space away from everyone else. Better for Blake.

“Are you wearing contacts?” Val takes Blake’s face in her hands. “Oh, you have really pretty eyes. I like the whole no glasses look.”

“I like his glasses,” I say with a shrug.

Blake looks up at me with a soft look, the tips of his ears turning pink. “Thanks,” he grumbles, looking away.

I smile, chuckling softly to myself.

“So, who are you supposed to be?” Lexie asks.

“We’re pirates.” I grin.

Brody snorts. “I’ve never seen a pirate that looks like either of you.”

“Babe, they’re dressed up as Luffy and Sanji from One Piece.” Jax’s chuckles. “Don’t mind him. He doesn’t watch anything that doesn’t have fast cars, murder and action.”

Brody and Jax don't seem to have a costume on, but Rain is dressed up as Poison Ivy, and Ellie who’s sitting on her lap is dressed up as Harley Quinn.

Chase is dressed up as Batman, and that doesn’t surprise me at all.

“Ten bucks says he spends the night saying ‘I’m Batman’, in a deep voice,” Blake murmurs to me.

I snort out a laugh, because I feel like that’s going to be an easy ten bucks.

“Nice costumes,” I tell the girls.

“What about me?” Chase huffs, standing up. He puts his hands on his hips, lifting his chin. “I’m Batman.”

“Cheeky little shit.” I snort, digging my hand into my pocket and pulling out my wallet. “You win.”

Blake grins up at me with a genuine one. “Like taking candy from a baby.” This time, he winks. And fuck me, my cock twitches.

For the next hour we sit and chat with our friends. After my third soda, I excuse myself to the bathroom.

People try to stop me to talk, but I push past them. If I don’t get to the bathroom, I’m going to need a detour to my room first for a change of clothes.

“Get the fuck out.” I bang on the door before opening it.

“What the fuck, man?” Nate, one of the football guys says as he washes his hands.

“Sorry man. Gotta piss.” I take myself out and relieve myself into the toilet, sighing in relief. “Fuck. That was close.”

“I guess when they say you gotta go, you gotta go.” Luke’s voice has me looking over my shoulder.

“What the hell?” I quickly put myself away.

“Hey, sorry man. Door was open.” He raises his hands.

“Fucking Nate,” I mutter, flushing and going over to the sink to wash my hands. Luke doesn’t leave, instead leaning against the door. “What are you doing here anyway?”

“It was good seeing you last night. It got me thinking.”

“Thinking about what?” I ask.

“You and me. We were good together.”

I snort out a laugh. “No, we weren’t. We weren’t even together. We had casual sex and outside that, you acted like I didn’t exist.”

“I’m sorry about that. It was wrong of me, but I was young and newly out. I was excited to finally be myself, you know? I didn’t want to settle down with one person. But, now that I think about it, you were the one I had the most fun with. We could have been something great.”

He steps into the bathroom, coming closer to me, giving me a boyish grin. “We’re older now, time has passed and we’re both single,” he murmurs seductively. “Why not see where this can go? I know I could be good for you, Cooper. Just give me the chance.”

I turn to glare at him, to tell him to fuck off, but my heart stops when I see Blake standing behind Luke, his eyes wide, lips parted.

“Blake,” I whisper.

He turns around and runs for it.

“Fuck!” I curse.

“Wait!” Luke steps in front of me.

“Get the fuck out of my way,” I snarl. “We were nothing. There’s only one person in this world I want, and it’s not you.” I shove past him, heart pounding in my chest, dread filling my stomach. I look around for Blake in a panic, but he’s not up here anymore.

I run for the stairs, taking them two at a time. “Damn it,” I curse when I look around for him, but can’t see him through the sea of people.

“Cooper!” Tabitha shouts my name. My eyes snap over to hers. “He went out the front door!”

Nodding, I race to the door and out onto the front step. Eyes scanning the yard, I find him headed toward the road.

“Shit.” I take off toward him. “Blake!”

He doesn’t stop.

“Blake. Stop! Wait up.” Lungs burning, I finally catch up to him. “Blake.” Grabbing his shoulders, I spin him around. He looks up at me with his big blue eyes filled with tears and I’m fucking gutted. “Blake,” I sigh his name. “Don’t cry.”

I try to wipe away the tears, but he jerks his head back.

“It’s not what it looked like,” I urge him. “Me and Luke, we’re nothing. Haven’t been for years.”

“But you have a past.” His voice breaks. “Why not be with him? He’s asking for something more.”

“Because he’s not the one I want to be with, Blake. He means nothing to me.”

His eyes flick between mine, lower lip trembling. He’s shaking, clearly upset and maybe confused.

I’ve been giving him the space and time he needs, trying to be the best friend I can be for him. But seeing this hurt in his eyes, him thinking I’d want to be with anyone else but him, is destroying me.

“Who is the one you want?” His voice quivers, like he’s afraid to ask the question.

Maybe this is stupid of me. Maybe I might be fucking this all up by making the first move if he’s not ready, but I’d rather take the risk and ask for forgiveness, than let him think for another moment he isn’t my entire world.

Instead of using words, I step forward, closing the space between us.

His breath hitches, eyes darting between mine. I cup his face in my hands, making him whimper a soft sound that goes right to my dick.

And then I kiss him. I press my lips to his and pour every bit of my feelings into it. He’s stiff at first and for a moment, I think I fucked up. But then he’s wrapping his arms around my neck, parting his lips and inviting me in.

Every cell in my body electrifies; my head spins, my heart races so hard and fast that I think I might have a heart attack. His lips feel so warm and soft against mine.

I don’t want to overwhelm him, this is his first kiss, but I can’t hold back anymore.

Sliding my tongue in and over his, I swallow his whimpered moan with a low hungry growl.

I’m not sure what I was worried about, because this man kisses me back with vigor, grabbing a handful of my hair and pulling. I moan, my hands lowering to his ass. I pull him forward, pressing my lower half to his, finding him rock hard too.

My whole body shivers in delight, my cock throbbing.

Our tongues tangle together, dancing like long lost lovers.

It’s the hottest kiss I’ve ever had.

When we both can’t take it anymore and need air, we pull back, panting heavily. My love-drunk filled eyes find his.

His pupils are blown wide, wild and desperate. “That was,” he pants out. “Holy fuck, that was...”

“Fucking amazing.” I chuckle, closing my eyes as I press my forehead to his. “If that wasn’t clear enough for you, Blake, you’re the one I want. No. The one I need. I’m crazy about you, Latte Boy. Have been for a while.”

“Really?” He pulls back, hope bright in his eyes.

“Yes.” I rub my thumb against his kissed, swollen lips.

“You’re not just saying that because you think it’s what I want to hear?”

“Blake,” I growl, leaning in and kissing him again until my head is spinning.

“I mean it,” I murmur against his lips. “I mean every word. I’m sorry if this freaks you out, but I’m obsessed with you.

You’re all I think about. When you’re not with me, I want to find ways to be near you.

When you’re upset, I want to make it all better.

When you’re happy, it makes my whole fucking chest swell with joy.

No other man in this world will do, Blake. Just you.”

“Thank fuck.” He kisses me again. I’m five seconds from creaming my damn pants with how turned on and happy I am. “Because I like you, Cooper. I’m sorry it took me so long to figure that out. This is new and it has been confusing. I just needed time.”

“You have nothing to apologize for, okay? I’d have waited as long as it took. You were worth the wait, Blake. Two months is nothing compared to the chance at making you mine.”

“I’m yours?” He bites his lower lip and fuck me it’s adorable.

“Yeah, baby, you’re mine,” I murmur. “All fucking mine.”

“You’re mine too.” He smiles.

“Yeah I am.” I chuckle, pulling him in for another kiss.

“What do you say we get out of here?” I ask, forehead against his.

“Where would we go?”

A grin stretches from ear to ear. “I have an idea.”
