Chapter 9 Lexi
LEXI
Thirty minutes later, Lexi came out of the locker room freshly showered, holding another ice pack to her lip that Eddie handed her wordlessly. He stalked away, annoyed with the entire situation.
She put herself in harm’s way, he’d asked, and she was going to continue to do so on repeat for this guy?
After Eddie had reset Grayson’s shoulder, Grayson had disappeared into the men’s locker room while Lexi had outlined the deal to Eddie, omitting certain details like spying on the other fighters and being his sub.
He didn’t seem to care how much money she would make, but she did.
As one of the very few who knew she owned the gym, Eddie assumed her financial life was just fine.
He couldn’t possibly know about all of her father’s medical bills, and that everything she made went back into the gym, leaving her…
if not penniless, then dimeless for sure.
She’d changed, but only into more workout clothes; it made up over ninety percent of her wardrobe, and it was great that she could stash clothes here just in case (today being one of those cases).
With another class to lead in an hour, she figured she had just enough time to grab food.
As she was scrolling food options on her phone, it buzzed in her hand.
