Beckett’s Journal

I have very few close friends. It’s an unfortunate side effect that comes with needing to protect myself from disappointment.

Yet Joey has an undeniable warmth that utterly captivates me. Her shimmering golden brown eyes draw me in, igniting an insatiable curiosity to learn more about her.

So, even though I was petrified, I asked her out for coffee. Or tried to, at least. I need the opportunity to get to know her. Something about her nudges me out of the confines of my comfort zone, and that sensation is beginning to get addicting.

Because when I’m with her, my loneliness fades into the distance.
