“Okay, I give up. I have no fucking idea who this guy may be,” Grace says in a defeated tone. “What if we ask someone for help?” Her eyes sparkle with another of her magnificent ideas.

“Who?” Her gaze is all I need to know who she’s referring to. “No.”

“Why not? He’s dying to sink his teeth into you, he won’t hesitate for a second to help us.”

He’s dying to fuck me and then push me aside again. I want to correct her, but I just shake my head and bite my lower lip.

“I don’t even know him well enough to ask him for this kind of favor.” She lets out a weary snort. Then sits down next to me and looks at me with those brown eyes.

“We won’t get anywhere on our own, we’d better talk to him. At least to find out if this Sergei guy works for him or one of his friends. With that clue, we’ll know how to proceed.” I purse my lips and look away.

With how nosy he is, he will want to find out every little thing that happened between me and that man.

I don’t feel like explaining what happened to anyone.

My fingers move on their own when I hold my phone in my hands and my heart starts beating faster.

I want to think it’s because of the adrenaline and not because I’m using this chance to hear his voice again.

Admitting that I miss him is more painful than remembering our nights together.

Denis lets out a loud laugh catching Sergei’s attention, who gives him an angry look before resuming his pacing around the room.

“I swear I’m going to kill them,” he mutters through clenched teeth, his fists balled tight.

“You won’t do anything. If you touch a single hair on their heads, I’ll cut your fucking head off,” I say as I zoom in on the screen to see where in the city she is now. The tracking points shows she is still at Grace’s house.

“Like hell I will! Those people fry my brain, steal from me, and you expect me to just stand by and do nothing?” I refocus my attention on him in the blink of an eye, leaving my phone on the table with the screen locked.

Denis tries to hide a laugh with a cough, failing miserably and earning another angry look from Sergei.

“Don’t look at me, I’m not the one to blame,” he says amusedly, raising both hands in a gesture of peace.

“Fucking calm down. You won’t achieve anything by thinking in the heat of the moment,” I murmur in a tired, flat voice.

“I want revenge.”

“I won’t grant you that.”

“Then find another idiot to watch your little princess’s ass,” he spits, turning away with the intention of walking to the door.

“Fine. Do whatever you want with the blonde, but don’t touch the red head. I mean it,” I say.

“Thanks,” he replies in a dry, mocking tone, continuing toward the door.

“Don’t be too hard on her,” I warn dismissively, wanting to check again if she is still in the same place.

I wanted to continue with our nightly routine and apologize for being away these past few days, but because of someone else that wasn’t going to be possible. If I’d let Sergei erase her, I wouldn’t have that problem now.

My phone vibrates with an incoming call that I decide not to answer the call. Knowing damn well what she wants to talk about. First I would have to think of something to tell her.

“You should answer it, we don’t want the little princess to get mad again,” Denis scoffs, referring to the handprint Sergei had on one of his cheeks.

“Shut the fuck up, will you?” I say, feeling a slight headache coming on.

“What’s wrong with that idiot!?” Lizzie shouts, appearing out of nowhere.

“Get out of my damned house. You’re not welcome here,” I say without even sparing her a glance.

The reasons of that being her sneaking naked in places she shouldn’t be, despite of being the actual fling of my father and the one he uses the most.

“I didn’t come here to see your face. I want to know where your father is,” she demands defiantly.

“Don’t know, don’t care. Now get the fuck out before I start cleaning the damn floor with you.”

“I won’t leave here until you tell me where he is,” she says, sitting down in one of the chairs in front of me with her chin held high.

Feeling my patience slipping away I grab her by the arm, and lift her forcefully out of the chair. Then I drag her to the door.

“Let go of me, you animal!”

Denis gets up and opens the door for me, bowing slightly. I let go of her arm and grab her long hair, forcing her down each step of the staircase. Her screams can probably be heard throughout the house, but no one dares to intervene.

I open the large gate and push her through, caring little that her body falls onto the hard pavement. Then I close the door in her face. I let out a snort as I felt the vibrations in my pants pocket for the second time.

My stomach keeps twisting, waiting for the moment we see each other. It’s not until I have him in front of me that I manage to calm down a little.

I’m wearing a short dress that shows off my legs and enhances what little I have of breasts.

Grace’s idea. He focuses his gaze there and then slowly sweeps his eyes over my body until he reaches my face.

I’m so focused on his eyes that I don’t notice when he takes one of my hands and brings it to his lips very carefully. His eyes shine intensely.

“You look beautiful.”

“Thanks.” My voice sounds a little hoarse as I feel completely captivated by his closeness and his compliment.

“Let’s go,” he says in a soft voice. I nod without even knowing where he’s taking me.

At no point does he let go of my hand or take his eyes off me. When we stop walking, I notice that there is no one else around us. We are in a part of the park I have never been to before.

We sit down on a wooden bench. We are so close to each other that our knees touch. The silence is thicker than the air, making it hard for me to breathe. He begins to caress my fingers, staring at them intently, as if they were something extraordinary.

“How have you been?” he asks.

“Fine. I guess.”

“Guess?” I remain silent, not knowing how to continue. “Tell me what’s wrong, love.”

“Nothing, it’s just that… I’m having some personal problems.” His blue eyes are fixed on my face with a strange look. Then he brings my fingers back to his lips, kissing them one by one.

“You know you can count on me for anything. I’ll always be here for you.” I bite my inner cheek, suppressing a silly smile, the kind I used to make whenever he said anything I considered sweet.

“Thanks, but I don’t want to talk about that now. I wanted to ask you something.” His eyes focus on me even more intently than before, if that’s possible. “Do you know someone named Sergei?”

“Yes,” he says immediately, without even thinking.

Part of me knew that he had something to do with Sergei being after me all the time, but I wanted him to admit it himself. I wanted him to tell me why the hell he had that man watching me so closely. What he was trying to achieve.

“He works for me.”

“Doing what? Spying on me?” My voice is louder than I intended.

“I wouldn’t call it that.”

“Oh, really? What do you call having someone follow you everywhere, all the time?” I ask sarcastically.

“Lena.” He tries to hold my arm when I get up and walk away from him. Not far enough to be out of reach.

“You’ve been spying on me since who knows when!”

“I’m just trying to protect you.”

“Sure. And that’s why you’re keeping photos of me too?”

“Sit down and let’s talk. Let me explain.”

“I think things are pretty clear between us.” I shake my head with a pout on my lips. “I don’t want you or your so-called bodyguard anywhere near me again. Ever. I don’t trust you.” I see a flash of unhappiness in his eyes, which he quickly hides behind a neutral mask.

“Do you really think I would be capable of hurting you?” My silence is enough for him to understand that I do.

At this point, what else can I believe about him?

I don’t even think he’s capable of separating his social relationships from his business dealings.

If he had to kill a friend or lover, I’m sure he would do it without hesitation.

He would even be capable of killing those who brought him into this world.

“If that were the case, you wouldn’t be breathing right now.”

“I don’t believe you.” His gaze now becomes dangerous as he corners me against one of the many trees there.

“Tell me when I’ve given you reason to doubt me.” I look away, finding it impossible to keep my gaze fixed on his. “My life depends on yours. How the fuck do you expect me to hurt you?”

When he holds my hands in his, a current runs through my stomach, making me squeeze my legs together.

“Even if that were the case, you shouldn’t have done anything behind my back. You should have consulted me first. I’m not a doll you can manipulate at will. And I already have my own bodyguard,” I say, pulling my hands away from his, ignoring the intensity of his eyes and his slight smile.

“Maybe you’re still blinded by whatever is clouding your pretty little head, but soon you’ll realize that you’re more than just a doll I can manipulate.

You’re mine, Lena. My slut, my doll, my toy, my life, my everything.

You and I are everything, I told you once.

” My cheeks burn with his words and his audacity.

“I’m not,” I say more abruptly than I intended, causing him to narrow his eyes at me. “I’m not yours.”

“Don’t make me prove it. You might not get away unscathed this time,” he says in a hoarse whisper, running his tongue over his lower lip. I do the same, staring at his piercing. “Besides, now you’ll have two. I don’t see what the problem is.”

“I don’t want it,” I whisper, my cheeks still red, ignoring the previous topic.

“Whether you want it or not, it’s not something I’m going to change.” My lips pucker in anger, leaving any feelings of modesty behind.

Before I can say anything else, he presses his lips against mine so fiercely that I can’t breathe.

My lips part slightly in search for oxygen.

He takes advantage of that to slip his tongue inside and move it around my mouth.

I didn’t know I was so wet until he presses his knee against my sex.

A muffled moan escapes my lips without me realizing it.

It’s not until he pulls away that I realize what’s happening, and my palm flies to his cheek. He’s not the only one confused by my actions, but I try to hide it behind a mask of coldness and anger.

“Stay away from me and my family,” I mutter hesitantly before turning around and walking away.

I always hated it when others made decisions for me.

I’ve spent my whole life dealing with the consequences of that.

Only hanging out with people my parents approve of, going to places they approve of, or studying what they think is worthwhile.

It’s not as if studying law is so bad anyway.

In a world where breaking the laws is an everyday occurrence, knowing a little about them is quite useful.

Some rules are made to be broken, but every time I wanted to stray a little from them, I had to do it quietly so as not to risk arguing with them.

I simply loathe the idea he is also part of that endless cycle.

I lay down in my bed, listening to Grace while I play with the stuffed animal.

“Well, he has a point.” I look at her, raising both eyebrows and stopping to move the ears of my teddy bear.

“He had plenty of opportunities to kill you, and with all the power he has, they could get rid of all of us in a single snap. Besides, they need us now to regain their former territories, so it doesn’t make any sense for them to want to kill you. ”

“I don’t know, Grace. Something is off,” I say, going back to playing with the ears of my black teddy bear. It’s a gift Jas gave me for my last birthday.

I still don’t understand why they left to Moscow. I know there must be something behind that, and my desire to find out won’t let me rest, but I have no way of finding out exactly what happened, and no one will satisfy my curiosity.

“What happened next?” she asks. I bite my lower lip, trying not to blush.

“He kissed me.”

“He? Or both of you?”

“He,” I clarify. “Then I slapped him and left.”

“You did what? Do you know what those people are like?” I glance at her sideways and press Jay Jay against my body. Wanting to distract myself from the heat of his lips.

“You even stole from one of his men,” I scoff.

“But I didn’t know that at the time, so it doesn’t count.”

“Anyway, tell me what to do,” I say, pouting.

“Seeing how persistent he can be your only option is death.” I look at her with an incredulous grimace. “Don’t look at me like that. It’s the truth. Even if you went to the other side of the world, he’d find you. And you know it,” she says with an amused smile.
