“Shit. Why are you reminding me? I had already forgotten about that.” She raises her brows expectantly. “Okay. He has gold piercings down there,” I whisper in her ear, omitting the two diamonds on the tip.

“On his dick!?” she exclaims, her eyes wide. “On the tip or where?” A man walking by with his dog glares at us, muttering something I can’t hear from where I’m sitting.

“You didn’t have to shout it to everyone.”

“Won’t it get infected? How does it feel when it’s inside?” Embarrassed, I look away toward the lake full of ducks and swans.

“The strawberries are very good, it seems they’re in season,” I murmur. I don’t know why I get the impression that talking about these things in such a public place is not a good idea. But she doesn’t seem to get the hints.

“Is he good in bed?” Her voice sounds carefree, yet at the same time genuinely curious.

“Mm, yeah, I think so.” She looks at me with her head tilted.

“You think so?”

“I mean yes. Normal. I don’t know.” My cheeks are starting to turn red. I can’t imagine telling anyone about the things we do in our intimacy.

I love every time he marks my body with his hands or teeth, every time he takes my breath away. Every time he makes me bleed and then erases all traces of it. He has promised to corrupt me, and I fear he is succeeding.

“Now the most important thing,” she says with a smile as she settles down on the picnic blanket. “Is it big?” I spit out the sip of champagne I just took.

“That’s a yes,” she murmurs with a smug look on her face.

“It’s certainly not small,” I mutter to myself. Then I look at my side when I notice a man in black approaching us with a serious face.

“I need you to come with me.”

“And you are…?” Grace says sarcastically.

“Alekei wants to talk to you.”

“Well, tell him we’ll go another time. We’re busy,” she says in a matter- of-fact tone, giving our surroundings a sidelong glance.

“Now.”

“Okay, we’ll go now. Just give us five minutes,” I interrupt Grace as she is about to reply. “And what trouble are you in now?” I ask focusing my eyes on her. If he wanted to see me or Grace he wouldn’t do it so formally. She looks away, biting her lower lip. “Grace.”

“I may be a little bit to blame for what happened with that Sergei guy.”

“What?” She let out a sigh, still looking nervous.

“I know he was responsible for what they did to me.”

“Did you hire a hitman to kill him?” My voice comes out in a strangled cry.

“Don’t look at me like that. I was just defending myself.”

“You could have killed him!”

“That was the intention,” she says. “I should have paid more.”

“Do you know what would have happened if you had managed to kill him? Alek must be furious.”

“I know. But I’d be lying if I said I regret it. That jerk deserved a taste of his own medicine.” I snort as I get up from the blanket. It’s useless to try to reason with her, I just hope this issue doesn’t go any further.

“Hi,” I greet the men in the front seats, who just ignore us before starting the engine.

“Don’t be angry,” she says beside me with a pout.

“I’m not angry. But pray that our parents don’t find out, because then we’ll be the ones dead.”

The journey to his house seems to take forever, and even though it’s not a pleasant situation, I’m dying to see him.

“Hey, is it much further?” Grace asks.

“Yeah, so shut the fuck up,” one of them says brusquely.

“They call him Mr. Nice Guy,” she whispers to me, looking in the rearview mirror.

“Walk,” says a man behind us in a deep voice. I follow his footsteps until he turns to me.

“Not you. You stay here.”

“Why?” I ask, raising my eyebrows.

“Because I said so.” He turns around and accompanies Grace to a place I don’t know.

I start tapping my foot nervously as time runs out on me.

A few minutes later I start wandering around until I find a fairly large kitchen.

My fingers reach for the refrigerator door, but before I can open it, the sound of heels clicking on the floor stops me.

When I turn around, I find myself face to face with that blonde girl.

My eyebrows furrow in a displeasure I try to hide behind a friendly smile.

“Hello.” She looks me up and down with an air of superiority, arrogantly. What’s wrong with people here when it comes to greeting?

“I don’t know what Alek saw in you, you’re nothing but a pathetic little girl,” she says in a mocking tone, staring intently at my breasts. “You’ve always been insignificant.”

“And yet he would choose me a thousand times over, while he wouldn’t touch you with a ten-foot pole. Ironic, isn’t it?” I smile as I see her face contort with rage, not letting her nonsense words reach me.

“That’s because you’ve bewitched him, but when it passes, I know he’ll come to me. As it should be.” I burst out laughing before letting my lips form a smile. Her face now is just another demonstration of how hurt she feels inside, and that makes my stomach tingle pleasantly.

“Then don't hold your breath,” I say before leaving with a bottle of water in my hands.

I think about waiting for him in his bedroom, but my desire to continue snooping around the house is greater than my desire to breathe in the scent of his room again. Bad idea.
