4. Balls & Brunch
Steel
“Yes, Sir.”
I wasn’t sure if it would be possible for me to stop myself from coming. But as Oli leaned down and closed his mouth over my cock, I realized I’d try to do anything for him.
Even if it was a form of torture. The best kind of torture, but still hard.
My claws dug into the blankets and I cursed as they ripped beneath the sharp points. “Fuck. I’m so sorry—”
“I don’t care,” he said. “I’ll buy new ones. Don’t hold back, pup.”
Pup. It was degrading and endearing at the same time, and I was eating it up. No one ever dared to call me something like that, but coming from him, it was perfect.
My head fell back on a groan. He tightened his grip around my shaft, milking me as he swallowed me. I hit the back of his throat and whimpered as he paused, savoring me.
I looked at him again, something inside me shattering. For so long, I’d told myself I didn’t want something like this. But Oli was everything I’d secretly dreamed of. He wasn’t intimidated by me and he was kind and clearly loved his family.
And he was dominant.
He wasn’t afraid to put me on my knees and demand I be good for him.
His hand slid around my knot and gave me a gentle squeeze that had me howling. I arched against the bed, gasping as he stroked me faster.
Over the last few weeks, I’d been suffering, unable to satisfy myself. But his touch alone was a balm on my soul. His scent eased all my stress—a warm peppery pinel. My mouth watered as I inhaled him, more pre-cum dripping down my cock along with his spit.
He leaned back, licking his lips. “You taste so fucking good.”
My chest rumbled with a pleased growl. Oli’s eyes shut as he held my knot and sucked me again, his expression one of pure bliss.
“Fuck,” I whined. “I don’t know how long I can last.”
I could come at any moment. I panted as I tried to think of literally anything else aside from the fact that my dream man was sucking my cock right now.
I have a honey mead I made a couple weeks ago I could bring for him to try—fuck.
Fuck, fuck, fuck. My balls tightened and my claws shredded the sheets again, my muscles trembling as I fought the need to come.
He doubled down, sucking me harder, faster. His hand glided up and down, all while he kept slowly tightening his grip on my knot.
“Oli,” I gasped. “I can’t hold out. Please. Please let me come. Please.”
He ignored my begging and kept going, but I caught the edge of his smile. His cock rubbed against my thigh, slowly thickening again.
“Please, please, please.” I kept saying it. I couldn’t stop myself. I was holding on by a thread, and it was fraying with every second that went by.
He pulled off for a split second. “Come. Now.”
The moment his lips closed back over my cock, I cried out, my hips jerking up as I started to come. He moaned as it shot into his mouth, eventually overwhelming him and spilling from his lips and dripping back down onto me.
I felt like I was floating. I relaxed into the blankets, finally feeling relief.
Oli leaned back, licking his lips. “Fuck, you had a heavy load.”
“I’ve been suffering this month,” I murmured.
He hummed as he kissed up my body, his touch gentling as he explored me. I loved the way his hands felt on my body.
With a happy sigh, he rolled to my side. I drew him into the crook of my arm and we both stared up at the ceiling.
And that’s when I realized he had a fucking mirror above us.
“How the fuck did I not see that?” I grumbled.
“Well, you were distracted,” he chuckled. “So was I.”
We looked up at ourselves, both fully naked.
His body fit against mine like a puzzle piece, the silver in his hair glinting.
I couldn’t help but note my shoulders were twice as wide as his, but I liked it.
I liked the fact that I could pick him up, but he could also pin me down with ease like he did at the cafe.
He had a lot of muscles I wanted to spend time kissing and exploring. My eyes drifted down to his cock. Perfect.
For someone I’d just met, I felt very comfortable with him. Maybe I shouldn't have been surprised, but I still was. My entire life, I’d grown up around monsters finding their fated mates. Being in my family meant that love was all around, and I was spoiled by that.
Even being surrounded by that love, though, I'd always questioned if it was right for me. I understood fated mates, but I didn't like the idea of fate taking away my choice.
But now I understood that it wasn't about fate taking away my choice for love. It was about fate giving me the chance for it.
I wanted to know everything about him. I wanted to learn his likes and dislikes. His favorite color, his favorite food, his morning routine. I knew that it was going to take some time for us to truly get to know each other, but I trusted this was right for me. That it was right for both of us.
But now what? We both laid in bed, looking up at our reflections above us, our bodies pressed together.
Still strangers.
For now.
Oli propped himself up and looked over at me. “How about I make us a proper brunch? I can cook us up something nice and then show you around my house. And you can tell me more about your life. Maybe even your kinks.”
“I’d love that,” I purred. “I want to know about your kinks too.”
“Well . . . You’ll see my closet. I may or may not have a little bit of a kink shopping problem. I have some ideas for what we might do.”
“A kink shopping problem?” I laughed. “I thought you said you were out of practice, old man.”
His mouth dropped and suddenly he was straddling me. His hands planted to either side of my face, a dark brow lifting. “Old man? You can’t call me old man.”
My hands settled on his hips, my claws light on his skin. “A very hot old man.”
“I’ve heard at work I’m called Chef DILF.”
“Oh, I definitely understand why they call you that,” I said. Salt-and-pepper hair, chiseled abs, and a voice that sounded like velvet when he yelled? “Without a doubt, you are a dad I'd like to fuck.”
“Ridiculous.” He rolled his eyes playfully, his hands settling back on my chest. He gave each of my pecs a squeeze, and I couldn't help the way my cock jerked in response.
“I’ll keep calling you Sir,” I said. “How about that?”
“Yes. I like it when you call me Sir,” he said. “It felt very natural. I also like that you call me Oli. That's what . . .” I swallowed hard as his eyes went glassy and he looked away. “Sorry. Let's go make some food.”
“Wait, wait, wait,” I caught his wrist and pulled him back before he could escape me. “I need you to know I really do not mind if you talk about her. There's no reason to hide that part of yourself, Oli. Truly.”
“We just met, though,” he said. “And I don't want to compare something so new. This is different.”
“And it should be different,” I said. “Of course it should be different. But that doesn't mean you need to pretend like you don't think about her. I know we are still getting to know each other. Hell, we met each other an hour and a half ago? Maybe two? I’d never ask that of you. Plus, you have to remember, my family is very much a patchwork quilt. Second chances, falling in lust and then love, finding a second fated mate after being with the one for ages. It’s just how life goes, sometimes.”
He drew in a deep breath, releasing it slowly until his shoulders sank. “You’re very wise. I can see why everyone looks up to you.”
“Well, they do when I’m level-headed,” I chuckled.
“Fair. Very surprising for someone who pinned me against the coffee table the moment we met.”
I close my eyes, trying to work through the humiliation of that. “I may keep apologizing for that for the rest of my life.”
“No,” he chuckled. “We came to an agreement, didn’t we? Plus, I’m only teasing you, Steel.”
“Your scent is just very irresistible,” I growled, huffing it in again. Gods, I could drown in it.
He wiggled his brows at me as he slid off my body.
My eyes never left him as he got up and pulled on his boxers.
He didn't bother putting on any other clothing, which was good.
I was certain we would just end up ripping them right back off.
And if I knew anything about humans, it was that they did not appreciate it when their monstrous partner shredded their clothes with their claws.
Truthfully, I’d never dated a human before.
I was technically part human, as a werewolf.
But I did not ever shift into that form—I found it uncomfortable.
The only time I ever did was when I needed to be amongst humans long-term, and the glamours were faulty.
While my mom was human, somehow all three of her children ended up way more like our dad.
Oh gods, they were going to want to meet Oli immediately, weren't they? I thought about Mama for a moment. She was going to be the hardest to win over. When Rhea brought her mates home for the first time, she’d grilled them until finally Mom and Dad distracted her with catnip chocolate cake.
I decided not to check my phone as I got out of bed and tugged on my boxers too. Oli leaned up on his tiptoes to pull me down for another kiss. We tasted like each other and I loved that.
I smiled as every muscle in my body stayed relaxed. All the pent-up tension I’d felt over the last few weeks had been giving me a headache. The pressure was finally easing, if only for the moment.
There was a chance, though, that I’d go into a full heat.
I cleared my throat, realizing I should probably share that with him. “Um . . . how much do you know about werewolves and knotting and heats and ruts?”
“Not too much,” he said. “Some, but I should know more, shouldn’t I?”
“Wouldn’t hurt . . .” I rocked on my heels, wincing. “There is a small chance that us having sex sends me into a full-blown rut.”
“I thought you were already in one?”
“Well, yes. But this would be different.” More intense, from what I’d heard, which I really couldn’t even fathom.
“At least until we mate or it fades. I just want to warn you because I might get all submissive and breedable.” And desperate.
Really really fucking desperate to be touched and fucked by him.
I was an Alpha everywhere else in my life but in the bedroom.
“You mean more than you are now?”
I snorted. “Yes. Even more.”
“Oh no.” Oli smiled, giving my arm a gentle squeeze. “And how do you feel right now?”
“I feel normal. Like myself, which is wonderful. Thank you.”
“Mmm. I do like being thanked.”
My stomach grumbled and I looked down at myself. “Sorry. I just realized I think I’ve only had three sips of coffee today.”
“All right,” he said. “Let's go see what I've got in the fridge and I’ll cook it up for us.”
His hand slid into mine, and he led me out of the bedroom. We went down the hallway, and this time I took note of everything around me—the photos on the walls, the way he had the place decorated. It was very midcentury and minimalist, but still warm and cozy.
Very different from my little cabin in the woods. I’d never been very good at home decorating. My moms and sister had, on more than one occasion, broken into my place to “add some furniture” so it didn’t look like I was a “lonely werewolf bachelor.”
The kitchen was through the living room and had a wall of windows that looked out to the grove of trees surrounding his place. I wandered toward the windows, wondering how far the forest went.
“Do you like running?” I asked as he opened the fridge.
“I do,” he said. “I usually run every morning.”
Well then. I swallowed hard and glanced back at him. His hair was disheveled and I noted a couple scratch marks I’d left on him. Luckily, I hadn’t drawn any blood.
“Do you have any allergies, Steel?”
“No,” I said, peeling away from the windows towards the bar. I leaned over the smooth counter top, watching him with a half smile. He’d slipped an apron over his body, so now he wore only that and his underwear. Ugh, maybe I had a kink for DILFs in aprons. It was the perfect view. “Do you?”
“Nope. Any foods you don’t like?”
“I’m not much of a sweets guy,” I said.
“Oof, I am. You could feed me pancakes every day and I’d be happy. I don’t think the rest of my body would be though.”
“I bet you make a damn good pancake.”
“I sure do.” He flashed me a grin as he lit the burner. Blue flames burst as he put a skillet over it, melting some butter in the center. “I’ll make us some omelets and a small salad. I know what you must be thinking—a salad is not a breakfast item. But I promise you’ll love mine.”
“I believe you. And really, it’s brunch time, isn’t it?”
Oliver laughed. “It is. Fair point.”
“Would you like any help?”
“Absolutely not. The kitchen is my domain. You’re not allowed in here unless it’s to sit there and look pretty. Or rugged. Pretty and rugged?”
I found myself grinning again as I watched Oliver cook us breakfast. He was clearly in his element and eventually started singing to himself under his breath as he chopped and stirred.
Would this be our life?
I wanted it to be.
The back of my neck heated as I watched him, and finally, I closed my eyes—trying to push away the driving need to be mated immediately.
It was starting to dawn on me that my rut was just getting started.
