Chapter 7 Meeting the Boys
"I read that could be dangerous." He cocked his head sideways studying my face.
"Dangerous?!" Ben and Bruce said at the same time their voice filled with concern.
"It can be if you don't know what you're doing. Plus it's a sport all sports have their risk." I tried to ease the tension. The rest of the ride was just light conversation between the boys that I tried to tune out. I felt so overwhelmed with everything I just couldn't wait to be back with the twins, Momma, and Pa.
Once we were back I quickly got out and running to the barn up the hill from our campsite that was by the area for the rodeo. I found our stalls and found Starbuck's going in and hugging her neck.
"Kat you guys are back?" I heard Jaz ask from behind me. I only nodded as an answer. "Are you okay Kat?"
"It just a lot to handle at the moment and I needed a second." I say letting go of Starbuck and looking at Jaz. "I am okay now."
"Okay can you go introduce me? Are they all as hot as Ben and Bruce?" She said giving me a mischievous grin. "Isn't the youngest like fourteen? Oooo please tell me he is cute!" She bounced up and down on her toes in excitement.
"Ew Jasmine! Shut up." Jase said coming into view with Starbuck's bucket of food. "He's not going to be your boyfriend. I already plan on making him my best friend so I have someone to hang with that's not a girl when around you two."
"Guys stop!" I groaned taking the bucket and hocking it the stall. "They are not even close to being like us. They are pretty boys who don't know how to get their hands dirty."
"Hey I am pretty. Well I mean handsome." Jase glared causing us both to laugh. "I am the most popular boy in school and all the girls want me." He stomped his foot.
"Eww Jase we don't want to know how all the girls want you." Jaz laughed. "Now come on Starbuck was the last one we needed to feed. Take us to meet them." She grabbed my hand and we headed off to the campsite.
When we got down there I saw Momma and Pa talking to everyone. "That's a really fancy set-up you have in there." Reuben said as he climbed out of the camper part of the trailer.
"Thank you we needed something that could hall a horse for each kid plus one extra and then places for us to sleep. Since the kids turned ten we let them sleep in a tent because they love it but if we need to the table and couch both turn into beds." Pa smiled.
"I don't know how you drive this! It's huge. Plus you backed it in." Logan shock his head in disbelief.
"A lot of practice." Pa chuckled looked up seeing us. "Aw kids did you all get them feed?"
"Yes sir." We all said in unison and nodded. I noticed all my brothers looking up at us shocked other than Ben and Bruce. They had gotten used to the fact that the twins and I often were in sink.
"Well boys this is the twins Jasmine and Jason. Twins that's Reuben, Logan, Sampson, Jeremiah, and Weston." Ben said as all the boys nodded and waved when the heard their name. I looked over at Jaz who look like she was starstruck. I knew she would be infatuated they all looked like models.
"Finally!! The boys out weigh the girls!!!" Jase cheered jumping up and down like a buffoon causing everyone to laugh.
"Well I am hungry who wants to go eat?" Pa said standing up.
"I am starving!" Sampson groaned causing all my brothers to laugh.
"You're always hungry." Logan rolled his eye.
"Big bro I am a growing boy I need nutritious food." Sampson said rubbing his tummy.
"Nutritious? Boy I have to force you to eat health most the time you eat junk." Reuben rolled his eyes.
Sampson stood up and walked towards me wrapping his arm around me shoulder. "Ahhh I need to warn our little sis here about you. Kat he is a health nut and makes us eat all our greens." He said in a funny voice and disgusted face making me laugh a little. "But don't worry I will show you where we stash the good stuff." He whispered. "So Mr. Smith please tell me you have somewhere unhealthy and greasy in mind. Reuben has been cooking all week since Bruce and Ben have been gone. I am losing my mind with healthy."
Pa laughed, "There is a dinner up the road it has the best burgers."
"Aw yeah that's what I am talking bout!" Sampson smiled. I could tell that I would like him the best he seemed like the fun playful one.
We all piled in the cars and headed to the dinner. They had to put three tables together so we could sit together. Jase sat next to Sampson who was next to Jeremiah and the three seemed to be hitting it off well.
"Well I be! It's the triplets! Y'all sure have a big party with you this time." Momma, Pa, the twins and I all looked up to see the rodeo director Chris standing at the end of the table.
Pa smiled and stood up shaking his hand. "Chris it's good to see you."
"Matt I thought y'all weren't coming. Can't say the misses was to happy when she heard y'all weren't. She will be tickled pink when I tell her y'all are here." Chris smiled ear to ear.
"Yeah it was a last minute decision after everything that happened." Pa sighed.
Chris nodded his head and then looked to me. "Your Pa told me about your Mom Kat. I am so sorry to hear that happened."
"Thanks Mr. Blake." I nodded.
"Well I am sure glad to have y'all see you in the morning." He said patting Pa on the shoulder. "Laura I am sure RaeLynn will find you as soon as we get there." He smiled towards Momma and walked away.
The rest of the day we spent playing card games and talking. The boys stayed for Pa to cook steaks and to make s'mores. Once it got late they all went to the hotel and the twins and I talk for hours til we passed out. I will miss them so much when I leave. At least we have one more day and that day was going to be a blast.
