Chapter 34 What Happened?
After a bit I heard the door open then I felt my bed dip on the other side.
"Kat what he said is not true, it was not okay either. You need to tell Ben or Pa." Jaz finally said after a few minutes of me crying.
"No there is no point Jaz I will just keep my distance." I sit up looking at her wiping my eyes with the back of my hand when the door opened.
"What's wrong?" Jase hurried over to us pulling me into a hug when he saw me crying.
"Wes told her that he wished their Moms boyfriend would have got ride of her too."
"Is that why Alisha needed to talk to Ben and Pa before they dealt with us?"
"No there is no way she heard it. He said it when they got out of the car I only heard it cause I was walking over to her."
I felt Jase tense and then let me go quickly walking out the door.
"Where is he going?" I looked at Jaz in horror. "You don't think he is going to go tell them that part do you?"
"No we don't tell things we promise not to and he promised. Just like we did with the alcohol." Jaz was right he wouldn't go behind my back like that.
"Oh God what if he goes and punches Wes?"
Jaz's eyes grew wide thinking about how he might be doing just that. Much to our luck he didn't. Instead he busted back through the door pushing Sam in.
"Dude are you going to tell me what this is about?"
"You're her older brother! You're suppose to protect her! I don't give a shit if he is your brother what he did is not okay and when he is not drunk I am kicking his ass."
"What are you talking about?" Sam looked from Jase to me.
"He told Kat that he wished their Moms boyfriend would have got ride of her too." Jaz said as her hand rubbed circles on my back. I took a deep breath trying to hold back more tears not wanting to show Sam how much that affected me.
However I saw pain flash in Sam's eyes. "Oh my God Kat I am so sorry. I knew he was mad but I didn't know it was that bad. I figured I could let him go today and drink it away then he could come back and make amends with you. Then Jere would follow, they're a package deal but they never stay mad long. I figured this would all be better by tomorrow not worse."
"It's more than worse Sam it's fucking awful! Has no one told you what the fuck happened?" Jase whisper yelled scared an adult would hear. "Your mother was stabbed twenty times. She bleed out on the floor and then the ass hole tried to chase Kat and kill her, she was running for her life and had to run right past your mother who was dying in a pool of her own blood!"
Hearing Jace whisper yell that at Sam caused it to all come flooding back. The fear started to creep up and the fact of what Wes said hit me ten folds.
"Jase shut up!" Jaz says horrified. As Sam eyes locked on mine. He looked completely scarred and sad.
"Oh my God Kat I had no clue they just told us that she died and her boyfriend was a part of it. I think we just assumed that it was a DUI wreck or something." He said stepping towards and pain showing in his eyes when I took a big step back.
"And that makes it all right? Sam he basically said he wished she was dead." Jaz turned her anger from Jase to Sam.
"No it doesn't I just....."
"What are you two doing in here? You both suppose to be in your rooms." Ben's voice makes us all turn towards the door as his eyes land on me. "Kat baby are you okay?" He rushes over to me and picks me up hugging me tight. I had already been balling but I instantly started to sob.
What will kat do when she is faced with the people she and her brother love. Will she be able to choose who she will be with. Or will she leave them all behind? She neve...
"I need everyone to go out please I need to talk to Kat." Ben said as I buried my face into his neck clinging onto him as if I was a small child.
"No way you and your brothers have done enough damage she should move back with us. You all don't deserve her." I heard Jase spit out.
"Jason Matthew! Don't you dare talk to an adult like that." I heard Pa's voice. I didn't realize he was in here. I slightly wanted to look up and go to him because he was my safe place for so long him and Momma. However Ben felt safe now too. Wes and Jere didn't, maybe Sam too. But Ben, Ben was safe.
"What do you mean Jason?"
"Jeremiah and Weston have said one too many hurt full things and the thing that Weston said when we all got home was the last straw." Jase seethed out. I am honestly shocked I didn't hear a smack yet. Pa doesn't care how you feel, it is never acceptable to talk to an adult like that.
Ben squeezed me tight then I felt him hand me off. I buried my face into the next person inhaling Pa's cologne. I wrapped my legs around him as waist and arms around his neck clinging to one of the two safest adults I have ever had in my life.
I felt Pa start to walk but I didn't dare look up.
"GET UP NOW!!! Go to my office." Ben's voice boomed from somewhere in a different room. I felt Pa walking down the stairs and heard Ben yell the same thing again. After a minute Pa stop talking and sat me down peeling me off him.
He had taken me to Ben's office and sat me down. Sam was already in there and a minute later Wes came in then Jere with Ben right behind him.
"Okay I want to know what the hell is going on right now!" Ben's voice boomed.
"What did the little twerp finally snitch on us?" Jere laughed looking to Wes and Sam. He probably wasn't still drunk but he still had the edge of alcohol in his system.
Sam looked at Jere in disgust and then at Wes with anger but it didn't hold a candle to the anger Ben's face was showing. He was clenching his jaw so bad I am shocked his teeth didn't crack under the pressure.
"Don't call her that and no she didn't snitch on you. Alisha told me what you two said in the car then I guess Wes said something even worse because Jase was pissed off about it that I am shocked he didn't go punch Wes. So someone better start talking NOW!!!"
"Yesterday Kat made a joke about Wes kissing girls and saying he was slobbering all over them. He is super sensitive about that topic and he let. We went back to Logan's room and Kat fallowed us to apologies and she over heard us talking." Sam stoped telling the story looking down.
"Keep going." Ben growled glaring at Sam.
"Things were said that upset her."
"Like what Sampson?!" Ben looked like he was a ticking time bomb and Sam was going to slow in picking a wire to cut.
"She is just like Mom, you should have never got her, maybe if she messed up you will ship her back." Sam sighed as his eyes filled with tears. "Then I guess when they got out of the car Wes said." He looked up and his eyes landed on Wes with what looked like a bit of anger. "He told her he wished that Moms boyfriend would have done what he did to Mom to her." The last part caused Sam to sob and Ben to growl like an actual primal growl. Pa looked horrified while Jere and Wes looked unfazed.
"Are you fucking kidding me?" He barked turning to Wes. "Do you even know what the fuck happened to our Mom?"
"You said she died and her boyfriend was involved. We just assumed that it was like a DUI wreck." He shrugged.
"So you wished death on your sister?" Ben's face was starting to turn red as he seethed with anger. But Wes just shrugged. "That's not even close to what happened by the way. I can't believe you said that!"
"Well then what happened? You never tell us anything!" Jere jumped in.
"Because you don't have....." took a big breath and interrupted Ben.
"Our Mom and her boyfriend were on drugs and very abusive to one another. I was in my room and started hearing screaming, it was a normal however when she started begging for help I called 9-1-1." I started to ball sobbing through the words. "He ended up coming into my room with a bloody knife. I managed to get to the door and run down the stairs and out the house. I passed our Mom laying in a pool of her blood. Later I learned she was stabbed twenty times. I didn't have time to even check to see if she was even alive because I was running for my life. I made it outside and the cops pulled up and pointed guns at him. He was covered in her blood and his eyes were completely black. It was so scary." I sobbed pulling my knees to my chest. The room was silent for a minute until Ben's voice broke it.
"YOU REALLY WISHED OUR SISTER WAS DEAD OVER A JOKE ABOUT YOU KISSING! WHAT......."
"BEN! That's enough son you go take a walk. I know they are your brothers but you are their guardian! You have to calm down. They will still be here when you get back. But if you keep going down this road you will be to harsh and you can't take that back." Pa said putting his hand on Ben's shoulder.
Ben sighed and then stomped out of the office. That's when Pa turned to me and picked me up taking my spot in the seat. "It's okay baby girl, I've got you now! No one is going to hurt you."
