Chapter 19

LACHLAN MACBETH

The soft mattress groans under my weight as I lie flat on my back, but I barely hear it over the sounds of Elena’s slow breathing and the lashing of the rain against the glass paned window.

Outside, Vivian’s storm rages across the landscape. But inside, the small room is illuminated only by short, sharp flashes of lightning that split the night sky, and the sight has my bones trembling.

Elena is the bonniest thing I’ve ever seen sitting astride my hips with her skin flushed like a ripe peach and shadowed in the dark room, her head thrown back and her fingers gripping at my shoulders as the final, almost violent tremors of her orgasm ripples through her body.

The expression of unadulterated pleasure on her face completely undoes me.

Deep in my chest, a low and heavy thrum starts vibrating, the sound overtaking the thunder shaking the cabin walls. Right now, it’s a fierce and helpless purr that signals my complete and absolute devotion to her as I fight to keep myself still.

My hands are clenched at my side, balled into fists to keep from grabbing and taking everything I want, and probably hurting her in the process.

“Lachlan,” she pants, her voice tight and breathless as she’s caught up in another wave of pleasure.

Her small hands come down and frame my jaw as her pussy trembles with aftershocks.

Her palms are scorching hot and a welcome contrast to my cool skin.

“I can feel it in your chest. Are you purring? Is that what that sound is?”

I lift my hands, my arms framing her voluptuous body.

My fingers are thick and heavy with a strength that can crush bone, so I tangle them into her hair with almost reverent care.

I’m shaking under her. The intense tidal waves of my affection for this woman threaten to split my very ribs open and she can feel every bit of it.

“I can’t help it,” I say, my voice a gravelly and rough bass that has her shuddering against me. “I’m trying so very hard to not hurt you, my flower. But you are everything I ever dreamed of. The way you feel against me now, it fills me up until I can’t breathe with it.”

“You won’t hurt me,” Elena promises, her voice thick like molasses from pleasure.

She suddenly shifts her weight against my thighs, sending shockwaves of heat to my middle and presses her chest flat against mine.

The lightning outside flashes again, highlighting and painting her in a stark shade of white.

I sense her frantic, very human heart beating in a perfect sync with my own.

“I want all of you. Please don’t hold back. I promise if anything hurts, I’ll tell you, and we can stop. Okay?” she asks, her gaze pleading.

Bloody hell, she could tempt a saint to debauchery.

A pained groan comes from my throat, a sound of total and willing surrender, and I reach up to capture her mouth with mine. I don’t kiss her gently. I can’t. My kiss is hungry and desperate for her with the centuries of isolation and finally finding a home in her.

I consume her and pull her down onto me and sweep her into a deep and passionate kiss that takes her breath until she’s a gasping and quaking thing in my arms.

“Look at me,” I command, my breath choppy and short as my hands slide down to grip her thick hips and anchor her firmly over me while thunder rattles the glass in the windowpane.

I’ve waited so very long for her. And if I lose her, I’ll never recover. The thought has me freezing in place, unmoving as I look up into her heavy-lidded gaze as her breaths come in quick little pants.

“Elena, being here with you, it fills me with such wonder until it’s difficult to breathe.

I’ve spent so long locked down to the depths and I swear to you now, if I don’t have you, I go back to the dark.

Tell me you’re mine. Please be mine, and I’ll do everything in my power to keep you happy for all our days. ”

“Always,” she breathes, her forehead coming down to rest against my own as her fingers dig into my broad and scale-covered shoulders. “I’m yours, Lachlan, I’m here. And I’m not going anywhere.”

I squeeze my gaze shut, and a low rumble vibrates through both of our bodies as I hold her to me, her body flush against my chest. The outright certainty in her voice chains my inner monster to her. I’m ancient and a creature of the deep, but forevermore, I’m hers.

I slide my hands from her hips to her big bountiful breasts and tug at one nipple, enjoying how her breath hitches in her throat.

“Lachlan,” she whispers against my lips, her breath hot and her body still trembling slightly from her release moments ago. “You can move now, it doesn’t hurt. It feels good.”

“Elena,” I groan out, the sounds a low gravel torn from the deepest part of my chest as a green glow lights up the back of my eyelids.

I grip her hips and guide her movements as the thrust and slide of her wet and willing body has me spiraling out of control. The intensity is a physical wave that builds in a rough and choppy storm of need inside me. My heart hammers between my ribcage, and I find I can’t breathe.

And I don’t want to. My whole world suddenly narrows down to the slick and burning heat of her body that scorches me and binds us together along with the fierce and undeniable clench of her around my thick cock.

I buck my hips up into hers and pull her flush against me as she rides me, surrendering to her while starbursts begin to crest along my body as I start to come.

The release hits me with a force I’m not ready for. It’s a tsunami threatening to fracture my form into pure sensation that makes my big body shudder with the aftermath. I spill myself inside her and cry out in animalistic pleasure, clasping her hips to me as I grit my teeth against it.

A rough and unbridled gasp escapes me, and I arch into her, giving her every bit of my hot seed as her sweet cunt milks me of every last drop.

The storm outside begins to wane, no doubt from Merlin finally calming Vivian down, not that I can find much will to care.

Elena’s head rests flat against my chest, her fingers running small circles across my scales. I keep my arms securely wrapped around her, anchoring her to me in the dark.

“The purring stopped,” she whispers, her voice soft and slightly raspy against my skin. She shifts her head to look up at me, her pretty blue eyes catching on the giant glow of the moonlight breaking through the clouds.

I let out a long, slow breath, comfortable with the quiet and let the vibration I make only for her rumble beneath her cheek. “The peace you give me, I’ve never known anything quite like it.”

“What do you mean?”

I look up at the dark ceiling, my fingers slowly stroking though her short hair “I was bound to the dark for so long. You can’t know how heavy and cold water can become,” I say.

“But I always knew you were out there and you’d come for me.

I knew my true mate would find me and break the curse on the moat. ”

I look down at her and meet her gaze.

“You didn’t just save me, Elena,” I tell her softly, the absolute truth of the words lodging in my throat. “You’ve given me so much more than you can fathom. The weight of being free pales in comparison to how much warmth you create inside me. This feeling, its overwhelming.”

She smiles a tender and beautiful smile that curves her sweet lips and completely banishes the last shadows from my mind. She leans up and presses a soft, lingering kiss to my jaw.

“It may have been an accident when I fell into the moat, Lachlan,” she breathes, her hands coming to rest directly over my steady and thudding heart. “But you’ve made me feel more than I’ve ever felt before too. I’m happy I fell into your moat.”

I tighten my grip on her and pull her close until there’s no space left between us on the bed, letting the warmth of her body wash away the last of my fears.

Gods be good, she’ll never have cause to want to be anywhere else.
