Chapter 19 #2

“Diamond, get your ass in here.” Kabria snapped. “You just said they were shooting in there! What the fuck are you going to do about it?!”

She glared at both of us before hopping her little ass up in the truck.

“What about my car?” she asked.

“Give me your keys.” I held my hand out and she placed them inside. “I’ll bring it to the crib.”

“Come home to me, Makhai,” she asserted as some tears slipped down her cheeks. “Don’t do anything to get yourself killed or I’m going to kill you.”

Chuckling, I leaned in and kissed her before closing the door. Just as they pulled off, the wraith I knew my brother was in was pulling up. I already knew he was about to be on some bullshit.

“What’s good, Lord?” I said as I dapped him up.

“Shidd, we ridin’ right?”

“That a real question, nigga?” I asked, hopping in the passenger seat.

I was thankful as fuck that Jay hadn’t been able to pull up due to my nephew being sick because I knew he’d want in.

Nigga didn’t like racking up bodies and shit, but he still loved to be present.

I couldn’t have my nigga mixed up in none of this shit.

The season would be starting soon, so I ain’t want his name in no bullshit.

When we pulled off, I went to find Diamond’s car.

I ended up having to call her to get the exact location and that shit led to a million questions.

A nigga damn near had to hang up on her ass to get her off the phone.

I had Prynce follow me to her crib where we dropped both their whips off because there was no way we could handle business in a fucking Wraith without being noticed.

Some of the other Lords scooped us and we headed to the spots that we knew them Crimson bitches frequented.

Frog met one of the hoes from out here that had been doing a whole bunch of pillow talking and she told the nigga where they were most days.

They weren’t at the store where they’d run up on me the first time, but we hit the jackpot when we found them because they were all gathered and congregating like shit was sweet.

I didn’t have the time or feel like getting out to do no back and forth, so me, P and Chino pulled our masks down, loaded the AR’s and let them mothafuckas ring until there was nothing left.

Frog burned rubber out that bitch once we were done.

Our first stop was to ditch the ride and grab something else for Frog and Chino to travel back home in, then they took us back to Dime’s spot so that Prynce could get his shit.

We bid them niggas farewell and safe travels before getting out.

I walked P to his ride then dapped him up before I headed up.

He wanted to formally meet Diamond, which I knew meant his nosy ass wife wanted to, so I promised to set some shit up soon.

I just wanted to get the rest of the tour done first.

I’d just gotten to Diamond’s door and got ready to key in the code to get inside when I felt a presence behind me.

I didn’t even bother reaching for my gun because I peeped the nigga in the parking lot watching me the moment we pulled up.

I knew they were here for me when they didn’t follow Chino and Frog out.

“Turn around slowly.”

I glanced over my shoulder and frowned at the officer. “For what?”

“Because I gave you an order.”

I knew Diamond’s ass wasn’t asleep. She’d been blowing my fuckin’ phone up, so I knew she was watching. I stayed in front of the camera lens but turned around only because the nigga had his gun trained on me.

“What you want, Lord?”

“Where are you coming from?”

“None of yo’ fuckin’ business,” I spat. “Fuck is you on?”

“What am I on?” he repeated and smirked. “I’m on your trail, that’s what I’m on. There are a series of murders that I’m investigating, and the one thing that they all have in common is you’re in town when they take place.”

“Okay, now what?”

“I know it was you Loco.”

“If you know it was me, then why you runnin’ yo’ big ass mouth instead of arrestin’ me?

” I angled my head to the side, waiting for the response that I never got.

“Exactly, nigga, you don’t got shit, so take yo’ ugly ass the fuck on.

” I shooed him, preparing to turn around to go inside Dime’s crib, but he removed the safety from his gun.

“You think you can just run from city to city doing what you want? Taking lives while you get to live yours carefree?”

“Lord, you really testin’ my patience.” I sighed heavily, completely over his ass. Only reason he was still alive and talking was because of the badge he was wearing around his neck.

“What? Are you going to kill me too?”

“Naw, I’m just gon’ let my attorney have some fun with yo’ bitch ass for violatin’ my rights.

” I smirked, stuffing my hands in my pockets.

“If I was the murderer you’re tryin’ to paint me out to be, I wouldn’t waste my time on yo’ soft ass.

You been shakin’ more than them hoes down at Kiss, so there would be no fun in that.

But I’m an upstanding citizen, so I’m going to just stand here and wait for you to leave since we both know you don’t got shit on me. ”

His eyes narrowed and he appeared to be thinking about something for a second before he put his gun away but retrieved his cuffs. I frowned when he took a step toward me.

“Fuck is you doin’?”

“Turn around and put your hands behind your back.”

“Makhai!” Diamond finally said through the camera’s speaker. I knew her nosy ass was watching.

“Chill, baby, I’m straight. Stay inside.”

“Turn around, Mr. Matthews.” The officer repeated.

“No, Makhai, I’m coming.”

“Diamond—”

Before I could get the next word out, the bitch ass officer grabbed my arm, forced me around and slammed me into the wall.

“Lord, what the fuck is you doin’?!” I barked.

“You’re under arrest.”

“For what?!”

“Wreckless endangerment…”

“What, nigga?” I snapped, doing my best to look at him but he had his forearm in the back of my neck.

“The shooting at the concert put the lives of a lot of people in danger.”

“I wasn’t the one shootin’, Lord.” I argued.

“Doesn’t matter.”

“Yeah, the fuck it does.” I chuckled. “You ain’t got shit on me, so you tryin’ it with this bullshit.”

“You can’t do this!” Diamond started going off as soon as she opened her door. “He didn’t do anything!”

She was trying to grab me and pull me toward her, but the officer pushed her hands off, asking her to go back inside, hell I was too, but her little ass was refusing. She was snapping so bad some of her neighbors had come out to see what was going on too.

“He was performing! He didn’t shoot anybody! You can’t arrest him!”

“You see him in cuffs, don’t you?” he smugly replied.

“No—”

“Diamond, if I have to ask you to step back inside again, I will arrest you for interfering with a police investigation.”

“Fuck you, Collin!” she snapped. “I know what this is about! Tristan already told me that you discussed the details of all of your investigations with him, so if Makhai goes down so do you.”

Oh, they know each other?

When he called her by her name, I didn’t think too much of it since he heard me say the shit, but hell, I didn’t even know the officer’s name.

“Take your ass back inside!” he roared, and I elbowed his ass in the mouth for the shit.

“Don’t be yellin’ at my girl, Lord.” I spat, glaring down at him because he was now rolling around on the ground as he held his face. “Now yo’ bitch ass got a reason to take me to jail.”

“Baby—”

“Go in, Diamond.” I cut her off. “I’m good, I promise I am.

“But—”

“Baby, go in.” I pleaded. “I’m gon’ call you as soon as I get the chance.”

I could tell that she wanted to object, but she didn’t. Instead, she tossed her arms around my neck to hug me. It was killing me not to be able to hug her back or to wipe her tears when she was crying for the second time today because of some shit that I’d done.

“Sh-should I call your mom?”

“Naw, it’s straight.” I shook my head. It was gon’ fuck with me enough knowing that my girl was crying, but if my mama got to worrying and shit, it was gon’ be bloodshed for real. “Go in and wait for me to hit you. I’m gon’ call as soon as I can, aight?”

“Okay,” she sniffled. “I love you.”

“I love you more, baby.” I smiled even though I didn’t want to.

I was seething on the inside, but I wanted her to be chill, so I had to remain calm. I looked down at the punk ass officer that was still nursing his busted nose. “Get yo’ bitch ass up and take me to fuckin’ jail, my nigga.”

It took him a second, but he finally got his ass up and dragged me down the steps to his car.

The nigga tried his hardest to be rough, but he wasn’t doing shit for real, and neither was his lil’ clique of fuck boys that he’d corralled together to meet him there.

I let each and every one of them niggas know if they laid a mothafuckin’ finger on me they mama’s was gon’ be on the block sellin’ fish plates at the ass crack of dawn.

They could play with other niggas like that, but I wasn’t going.

After realizing they wasn’t gon’ intimidate me, they threw me in a small ass holding cell and left me there, not even bothering to uncuff me.

I didn’t say shit at first, but when some hours passed, I started blanking on them.

They’d ignored all of my fuckin’ requests for phone calls despite me threatening to let my attorney know what was going on.

I stopped pressing them after a while and just started plotting.

I’d make Collin’s lil’ bitch ass pay in the worst way.

I just had to get the fuck out of jail first.
