Blurb

He came into my clinic bleeding.

Then he smiled like he was trouble.

Olive:

I’ve patched up plenty of stubborn men.

Working for Doc Hansen means I’ve seen everything from twisted ankles to bruised egos.

So when a lumberjack from the Harrison Logging Camp walks into the clinic bleeding, grinning, and pretending he’s fine, I know exactly what I’m dealing with.

Or at least, I think I do.

Holden is newer to town.

Too handsome.

Too charming.

Too good at acting like nothing hurts.

He jokes while I clean his wound. Flirts while I wrap his hand. Smiles like he’s just another easygoing man with sawdust on his boots and trouble in his eyes.

But I see what he’s hiding.

He’s more than just another sexy-as-sin sawdust-flecked beard.

Holden has secrets. And I plan to uncover every one of them.

Holden:

I’m done traveling the country looking for work, and I’m ready to make some roots.

I came to Red Oak Mountain for steady work.

That was the plan.

Keep my head down. Settle in. And make this logging camp my home.

Then I slice my hand open at the logging site and get sent to Doc Hansen’s clinic.

The doc isn’t there. But Olive is.

She’s sharp-eyed, soft-handed, and completely unimpressed by my smile.

Which is a damn shame.

Because the second she touches me, I’m gone.
