Chapter 3

As Zoran closed the door to Aurora's bedroom, a sense of peace and quiet settled over him.

As he entered the room, Amber and Jade, who had volunteered to babysit Aurora, glanced up from their activities.

When he saw they had brought one of their new inventions, he couldn't help but chuckle and shake his head.

“Should I be worried about this? You aren’t going to create any little monsters or time travel to far-off worlds, are you?” he warily asked.

Amber snorted. “Naw. This is a worm house for Spring. She wanted something to help keep them warm and safe from Roam when he comes.”

“Okay. As long as it won’t turn Aurora into a worm,” he said.

Jade’s eyes lit up with excitement. “That would be so cool! Oh, but we wouldn’t do it to Aurora.”

“Of course not! We’d test it out on James or Leo first. Leo is always up for being stuffed into our new inventions, isn’t he, Jade?” Amber stated.

“Yeah. Especially if you put some food in first.”

Zoran listened to the twins animatedly discussing the machine, feeling a mixture of curiosity and dread. As the thought crossed his mind, he couldn't help but shudder. The fact that his brother, Trelon, and his mate, Cara, hadn't lost their minds completely astounded him.

I should have asked Morah.

You should ask Morah. She only talk to Goddess who shrinks you.

The memory of that unexpected trip to the Kingdom of Glitter still haunted Zoran, causing him to shudder once more.

If they hadn't been shrunk to the size of Aurora's dolls, it wouldn't have been so terrible.

The thought of canceling his plans crossed his mind, but he reassured himself with the knowledge that things tended to work out in the end.

Plus… he had made a promise to his dragon.

You no stop from going?

No… no, tonight is for you and your mate, my friend.

The sound of his dragon's relieved sigh brought a smile to his face.

He was determined not to cancel his plans.

Abby and his dragon yearned for a peaceful interlude, needing some time away from the world to connect on a deeper level.

Besides, Goldie would be here to keep an eye on things. What could possibly go wrong?

A lot, his dragon muttered.

Shut up. You aren’t helping.

With a mischievous snicker, his dragon expressed its amusement. As he stood there, a wave of lightheartedness came over him, lifting his spirits. As he walked away, he could already hear the twins excitedly discussing their next mischievous scheme, envisioning the chaos it would cause.

“Hey, is everything alright? I thought I heard voices,” Abby said, stepping out of their bedroom.

Zoran slowed as he approached her. The overwhelming need to kiss her struck him hard, and he pulled her into his arms. She melted against him, feeling the warmth of his embrace as she wound her arms around his neck.

A low moan of longing escaped her as their lips connected, causing their kiss to grow more intense.

They were abruptly interrupted by a low rumble, followed by a gentle purr, which made them break apart with amused grins.

The sounds mixed together, left him uncertain as to whether it was him or the enchanting woman he held who had made them.

Delicate and mesmerizing, her throat was adorned with pale blue scales that glimmered with gold and white accents.

With a delicate touch, he lovingly stroked them, relishing their smooth texture.

“I want to share something with you,” he murmured.

“I have something for you… well, for you and your dragon as well.”

His chest reverberated with the deep rumble of a purr. Despite his efforts to tamp it down, his stubborn dragon refused to listen. If they didn't escape from there soon, he feared he would completely lose control of the damn thing!

Will you behave? he growled.

No.

Gritting his teeth, he shot Abby a terse smile, the corners of his mouth twitching slightly, when she raised an eyebrow.

She couldn't help but find it amusing as she watched him struggle for control, a twinkle of amusement in her eyes. It wasn’t until he caught his reflection in the window that he really understood why.

Dark green scales, edged with gold and red, covered his lower jaw and neck, while the nubs of his dragon's horns peeked through his thick, black hair. He didn’t even want to focus on his eyes.

“You look almost like the first time I saw you change,” she commented, lifting her hand to brush his cheek.

He scowled. “If I remember correctly, you fainted.”

She scoffed and waved her hand in dismissal. “After that.”

“I think we should fly.”

She laughed and brushed the nub on the top of his head. “I think we should fly.”
