5-her love for 15 years.
Vaidehi was looking at herself in the mirror.
She looked exceptionally beautiful today.
She was putting on her earrings, completely focused on herself.
After many years, she had worn a saree-and that too a traditional Bengali saree-in which she looked absolutely stunning.
She had left her hair open and had filled her parting generously with sindoor, making it clearly visible that she was married.
Her hands were adorned with numerous bangles, heavy anklets graced her feet, and her face was covered with bold makeup.
She didn't really know how to do makeup properly, yet she had somehow managed to put on quite heavy makeup with a lot of effort.
Just then, the door of the room suddenly opened, and Gayatri rushed inside.
The moment she entered and saw Vaidehi's appearance, she was shocked. Covering her mouth, she exclaimed loudly,
"Oh God! What have you done to yourself? You look like the queen of witches!"
Hearing this insult, Vaidehi became furious. In anger, she picked up a makeup brush and threw it at Gayatri, but Gayatri easily caught it and said,
"I said absolutely right! You look terrible. Is this even makeup? Do you even know how to do makeup or not, you crazy girl?"
Saying this, she immediately went near her, picked up a makeup remover, and quickly started cleaning her face.
Seeing this, Vaidehi angrily said,
"Hey! What are you doing? I spent two hours doing this makeup! It took so much effort. There's only half an hour left for the puja-you'll ruin everything, you stupid girl!"
But ignoring her words, Gayatri said,
"Such heavy makeup doesn't look good. You're already very beautiful-just a little makeup is enough. Heavy makeup is meant for girls like us with dusky skin."
She said this while pushing her noodle-like hair back.
Just then, the door opened again, and Samrat entered.
Suddenly, Vaidehi lost her balance and fell straight onto Gayatri. Both of them fell onto the bed, and their position could easily be misunderstood by anyone.
Seeing this, Samrat paused for a moment. A hint of surprise appeared on his face.
In a cold tone, he said,
"What's going on here...? Seriously?"
Vaidehi looked at him and gave a soft smile. Her smile was very sweet, but there was no change in Samrat's expression.
He clenched his fists slightly and said in a low voice,
"Get ready fast... we're already late."
Saying this, he closed the door and left without saying anything further.
Meanwhile, Vaidehi pushed Gayatri in anger and said,
"You crazy girl! I fell because of you."
Saying this, she started adjusting the pallu of her saree.
Without stepping back, Gayatri continued fixing her makeup and replied,
"Relax, drama queen.
If you go out like this, people won't admire you-they'll get scared.
Just let me fix it properly... trust me.
""Don't blame me for your mistake! You fell on your own and dragged me down with you.
Idiot! You don't even know how to do makeup, yet you were ready to go in front of so many guests.
Do you even realize how many rich and influential people are here?
Just go downstairs once and see!"
On the other side, in the terrace garden...
Sitam noticed Samrat, who was standing silently, smoking one cigarette after another.
He walked up to him and said,
"Hey bro, what's wrong with you? You've been standing here sulking since morning. You've already finished two packs of cigarettes! If you keep this up, your lungs will give up in a few days... and you'll drop dead before even becoming a father."
Hearing this, Samrat turned around and saw his best friend Sitam standing there, grinning widely.
But the moment Sitam saw the stern look on Samrat's face, his smile disappeared. Slightly nervous, he said,
"What happened, bro? At least tell me first. Only then I can find a solution to your problem. If you don't say anything, what can I even do?"
After staying silent for a few moments, Samrat suddenly spoke in a deep voice,
"Do you think... she could be interested in girls?"
Hearing this, Sitam was shocked. He stared at him wide-eyed and said,
"Who are you talking about? Which girl?"
Samrat looked away and said softly,
"I think... she's interested in girls."
After a few seconds, Sitam realized who he was talking about. He burst out laughing, then punched Samrat lightly on the shoulder and said,
"What nonsense are you thinking! That's just not possible. You're such a sensible person-how can you think like this... and that too about your own wife?"
Shaking his head, he continued,
"I've known you for years. You're very smart... but the moment it's about Vaidehi, your brain just stops working. How do you become this crazy?"
With a slight laugh, he added,
"Alright, your wife is a bit different, I agree... but if you start thinking like this too, then what's going to happen? It's like one blind person blaming another!"Samrat stood there silently, the confusion still clearly visible in his eyes.
Hearing Sitam's words, he let out a deep breath and said in a low but heavy voice,
"How am I supposed to ignore what I saw with my own eyes?"
Sitam stayed calm and explained again,
"Not everything we see with our eyes is the truth.
Your wife is really sweet... yeah, she's a little crazy, but that's okay-she's beautiful.
And most importantly... you should talk to her.
You should tell her how much you've loved her for the past 15 years. "
As soon as he heard this, Samrat flared up in anger. In a sharp tone, he said,
"I've been loving her for 15 years! Doesn't she have any responsibility? Shouldn't she be the one to come to me... get down on her knees and confess her love?"
In an even colder voice, he added,
"She has to confess first... I'm not doing it. Never."
Sitam took the lighter from his hand, lit his cigarette, and said with a slight smile,
"Then that's never going to happen. How will that poor, crazy girl understand what's in your heart? She's already weak in studies... how will she pass the test of your love?"
Looking down, Samrat said in a voice filled with anger and obsession,
"I don't care how... but she has to confess. The way I've been longing for her love for 15 years... the way I've gone crazy... she has to feel the same."
Hearing this, Sitam laughed and said,
"Bro, I think you've actually lost it. People say love makes a person blind... but you've gone completely insane. Your wife was already crazy, and now you've joined her!"
On the other side...
Looking at herself in the mirror, Vaidehi was stunned. A faint blush appeared on her face, and she smiled as she said,
"You were right... I actually look so beautiful. Samrat is going to go crazy when he sees me."
Gayatri smiled and replied,
"Well, who did your makeup? Gayatri did! Of course you were going to look beautiful. By the way, why do you look so happy? Weren't you saying you would find your husband's love?"
Hearing this, Vaidehi suddenly came closer, held both her wrists, and said excitedly,
"You know what? Something big happened last night! He said there's no one else in his life except me... that I'm everything to him. That means... I don't even need to search for his love anymore!"
Hearing this, Gayatri smiled happily and said,
"Wow, that's really great! I already knew there couldn't be anyone else in that strict professor's life. Honestly, only a crazy person could fall in love with him."
Hearing this, Vaidehi gave her a sideways glance and said,
"So you mean... I'm crazy?"
Gayatri gave a slight smile, leaned close to her ear, and said,
"Well... obviously.""Not crazy... just a little messed up. You don't understand anything, you silly girl."
Hearing this, Vaidehi replied while opening the door,
"Don't say that! How is it my fault that I don't understand double-meaning things? If you people understand them, that's fine... my mind isn't like yours."
She kept talking nonstop as she walked on the outside, but the moment she reached the corridor, she suddenly bumped into someone. She was about to fall when the person quickly held her by the waist.
Meanwhile, Gayatri stayed back in the room. Just then, her phone rang, and she got busy with the call, completely unaware of what was happening outside.
Now, in the corridor, Vaidehi and the stranger stood face to face.
Vaidehi looked at him and smiled in surprise,
"Ayush... you here?"
Ayush smiled back and said,
"What a coincidence! What are you doing here?"
Vaidehi was about to say something when she suddenly remembered-no one in college, except Gayatri, knew that she and Samrat were husband and wife.
Although Samrat himself had dropped her to college yesterday and even picked her up.
.. at that moment, she had forgotten that it might make people suspicious.
From the very beginning, she had felt that Samrat didn't want anyone to know about their marriage. He had never said it clearly... but Vaidehi had always assumed the same.
Just then, Ayush's gaze fell on the deep red sindoor in her hair parting. Surprised, he said,
"You're wearing sindoor... that means you're married? Where is your husband?"
Vaidehi gave a soft smile and said,
"My husband... actually-"
At the same time, from the other side, Samrat and Sitam were walking toward the corridor, smoking.
But the moment Samrat saw the scene in front of him, he froze.
He saw a guy holding Vaidehi by the waist, and both of them smiling at each other.
That was enough-Samrat's mind went blank. He lost all sense of control.
He quickly strode forward and, without thinking, pulled Vaidehi forcefully toward himself.
Before Vaidehi could understand anything, Samrat pushed her against the wall and tightly grabbed both her wrists.
Anger was clearly burning in his eyes.
In a low but dangerous voice, he said,
"What the hell was that...? Who is he?"
His grip tightened even more,
"Explain yourself... right now."
Seeing the scene in front of him, Ayush was stunned. His professor standing like that with his own classmate-it was a huge shock for him. It felt like his mind had stopped working altogether.
Meanwhile, Sitam quickly understood the situation. He rushed to Ayush, pulled him aside, and said,
"Hey, calm down! They're husband and wife. No need to be so shocked. Give them some privacy... come on, let's go."
But Ayush didn't want to leave. After hearing the truth, he felt even more shattered. His crush... turned out to be his own professor's wife. His heart broke into a thousand pieces like glass-pieces that could probably never be put back together.
Meanwhile, Vaidehi winced in pain and said,
"Leave me... it hurts a lot! Why are you holding me like this?"
Hearing her, Samrat clenched his teeth and said angrily,
"I'm holding you? Then what was that, huh? Why were you so close to him? What's gotten into you? Have you forgotten that you're married? That you have a husband?"
Growing even more furious, he continued,
"Sometimes you're with him, sometimes with someone else... what do you think of yourself?"
Hearing her character being questioned again and again, Vaidehi finally lost her temper. Both anger and tears were clearly visible in her eyes.
Suddenly, in anger, she kicked Samrat hard on his foot and shouted,
"You're questioning my character again! At least listen to the whole thing first!"
Samrat was about to say something, but before he could, Vaidehi shouted loudly,
"I was walking while talking to Gayatri when I lost my balance and fell... he just caught me to stop me from falling! That's all that happened-nothing else!"
But even after hearing this, Samrat's anger didn't calm down-instead, it grew even stronger. The reason didn't matter to him... what mattered was that his Vaidehi had been close to someone else, in someone else's arms.
Just the thought of it was tearing him apart from the inside. It felt like his mind had stopped working. All he could feel was that he couldn't tolerate Vaidehi being with anyone else.
On the other hand, Vaidehi was exhausted from shouting. But when she saw that Samrat's anger still hadn't subsided, she calmed down a little and said in a softer voice,
"You don't even talk to me properly... for the past three months, you haven't even looked at me properly. I don't even know when you come, when you sleep, or when you leave... then why this jealousy?"
Samrat looked at her angrily and said,
"You haven't even seen my jealousy yet... just understand this-my jealousy... my madness is very dangerous. You won't be able to handle it."
In a firmer tone, he added,
"So it's better... you stop going near anyone-no boys, no girls. That's better for you."
Hearing this, Vaidehi took a deep breath and said,
"Fine... I won't. Now let go, it really hurts."
Then, in a soft but sincere voice, she said,
"But a person behaves like this only when they love someone... and feel jealous. That means... you love me?"
Hearing this, Samrat suddenly stepped back. He clasped his hands behind his back and said in a completely normal tone,
"Absolutely not."
Saying this, he turned and walked away.
Vaidehi stood there, completely stunned.
But the very next moment...
Samrat suddenly came back. He grabbed Vaidehi's wrist and pulled her toward himself. Before she could understand anything, he pressed his lips against hers.
That moment was deep... intense... and completely unexpected.
Vaidehi couldn't understand what was happening at all.
By the time she came back to her senses, Samrat had already left.
Vaidehi just kept staring at the long corridor in shock... then slowly touched her lips and smiled faintly.
She herself didn't understand... why she wasn't angry anymore-instead, it felt good.
But someone had witnessed that entire moment...
And had even recorded it on their phone.
It was none other than Gayatri.
Watching the video on her phone, Gayatri smiled and said jokingly,
"After seeing this, even I feel like kissing someone..."
Seeing this, Vaidehi lightly punched Gayatri on the stomach in anger and said,
"Delete it! Or I'll seriously kill you!"
Hearing this, Gayatri laughed and started running, saying over her shoulder,
"No way! I'm going to post this on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter... everywhere-even on YouTube!"
On the other side, in the study room...
Sitam hugged Samrat forcefully and patted his back jokingly, saying,
"Oh my baby... don't cry! Is my baby about to cry? It's okay, that was just an accident. No need to get so jealous and emotional, my baby!"
Samrat pushed him away and, in anger, pulled out his gun, pointing it at him,
"If you call me 'baby' one more time... I'll put all six bullets straight into your head. Got it?"
Saying this, he lit a cigarette. His eyes had turned red-both from anger and jealousy.
Still smiling, Sitam said,
"I was just thinking... the day the world finds out that such a strict, arrogant, and attitude-filled professor cries like a kid... I wonder what their reaction will be!"
Samrat glared at him, but deep down, he knew-Sitam wasn't wrong.
He really had changed... especially when it came to Vaidehi. He had gone so madly in love with her that he lost all sense of the world around him.
