11-Obsession
Outside, nature's fury was relentless. It wasn't rain falling from the sky, but hailstones-like stones being hurled down. The windowpanes trembled under the violent impact.
Inside the room, Vaidehi clung tightly to Samrat's drenched shirt, crying uncontrollably. She didn't even realize that his body was ice-cold... or that her own clothes were completely soaked.
With some effort, Samrat loosened her grip and made her sit on the bed.
"Calm down... I'll be back in a minute."
His voice was strangely calm-like the eerie silence before a storm.
Samrat walked into the bathroom. A few minutes later, he came out with only a white towel wrapped around his waist. Water droplets glistened on his muscular chest and broad shoulders.
His hair was slightly messy... and there was a different kind of glint in his eyes-dangerous, deep. .. like a predator watching its prey.
Suddenly, a loud thunderclap echoed... and the entire villa plunged into darkness.
"Ah!" Vaidehi screamed in fear.
In the darkness, she began to panic, flailing her hands around. A power outage in Samrat's house was almost impossible-backup systems would always kick in instantly. But today... everything was silent.
In truth, this was all part of Samrat's plan.
He had deliberately cut off the main power line.
He wanted Vaidehi's fear to pull her completely toward him.
.. to the point where she would feel safe nowhere else but with him.
"Samrat... where are you? Please... turn on the lights!
I'm really scared..."
Vaidehi's voice trembled.
Just then, in the darkness, she felt it-someone was ???? close to her. A warm breath brushed against her neck...
The very next moment, Samrat grabbed both her wrists with one hand and pulled her sharply toward himself.
Vaidehi collided straight into his broad, warm chest. His grip was so strong that she couldn't move even if she wanted to.
"Why are you so scared, jaan? I'm right here."
Samrat's voice was low, but there was a strange intensity in it.
"Let go... please... I'm scared... Ayush... his death... the blood... it's all coming back... why aren't the lights on?"
Vaidehi struggled to free herself, but failed.
Samrat tightened his hold on her wrists. Leaning closer to her ear, he whispered-
"There's a storm outside... and inside, it's just me."
Then, in a slow but dangerous tone, he added,
"You don't need to worry about the outside world... Ayush is dead... maybe that's what fate had written for him. And anyone... who tries to come between us..."
He paused for a moment, his grip growing even tighter-
"His end will be worse."
Vaidehi didn't fully understand the meaning of his words, but the possessiveness in his tone sent chills down her spine. Just then, lightning flashed again, and in that brief moment of light, she saw Samrat's face-there was deep love in his eyes... but along with it, a terrifying obsession.
"Why... why are you looking at me like that? Please let go... my wrists hurt..." Vaidehi cried.
"Pain...?" Samrat murmured, gently pressing a kiss to her wrist where the marks of his fingers had already formed.
"This is nothing, Vaidehi... I can protect you from every fear in this world... but in return, I want you... completely. No conditions."
Samrat slowly pushed her backward. Vaidehi fell onto the bed, and he leaned over her.
The room was dark... only the sound of their heavy breathing filled the space.
Outside, the fierce winds rattled the windows, as if something was desperately trying to break in.
"I... I don't feel right... I feel shy.. ." Vaidehi turned her face away.
"Shy? From what? You are my wife."
Samrat brushed his face lightly against her cheek. The faint stubble of his beard grazed her delicate skin, sending an unfamiliar shiver through her.
At that moment, Samrat was taking advantage of her fear. He knew she wouldn't push him away right now... because she was too afraid to be alone.
Gently, Samrat touched her lips with his thumb.
"You wanted a baby, didn't you...? You said that in the morning..."
There was a teasing tone in his voice, but beneath it, a strange obsession lingered.
Vaidehi felt as if thousands of butterflies fluttered inside her stomach. She was caught between fear and an unfamiliar emotion-unable to decide whether she should pull away... or simply let things be.
Samrat lightly held her by the neck and pulled her closer... closing the distance between them.
Vaidehi's sobs slowly began to fade within Samrat's arms. She placed her small hands against his chest, trying to push him away, but her strength was nothing compared to his. Every touch of his was making her forget everything that had happened outside.
"Samrat... please..." she whispered one last time.
"Shhh... just listen to my heartbeat..."
Samrat pulled her even closer against his chest.
That night, there were two storms in that room-one outside, shaking the trees... and one inside, raging within Samrat's heart.
Samrat knew what he was... he had taken a life just two days ago. Yet, holding Vaidehi in his arms, he felt no regret. For him, only one thing mattered-Vaidehi belonged to him. And to have her, he could cross any limit... fall as far as needed... do whatever it took.
Thunder roared again, as if bearing witness that this relationship was built upon a deep, hidden secret.
Out of fear, Vaidehi clung to Samrat even tighter... unaware that she was in the arms of the very man she should have feared the most.
The darkness was so dense that even the walls of the room were invisible.
Only flashes of lightning occasionally tore through the silence.
Samrat's warm, muscular body became the only refuge for Vaidehi's cold, trembling form.
Her face rested against his bare chest, wrapped only in a towel, where she could clearly hear his heartbeat-fast, unrestrained, and filled with obsession.
Samrat didn't loosen his hold. Instead, he tightened his strong arm around her waist and pinned her beneath him on the bed. Vaidehi's breathing grew heavier. She was afraid... but beneath that fear was a strange pull she couldn't understand.
Slowly, she lifted her gaze. At that very moment, lightning flashed outside, and the light fell directly into Samrat's eyes through the window. Those eyes... held more hunger for possession than love.
Vaidehi took a deep breath. Tears filled her eyes, but there was also a helplessness on her face she couldn't hide.Trembling, Vaidehi cupped Samrat's face in her hands.
Looking into his eyes, she spoke in a soft, unsteady voice-
"I don't know why, Samrat.
.. but in your eyes, I always see my death.
It feels like they'll consume me... and the strange thing is.
.. I'm scared when I look into them... but at the same time, I feel like surrendering. .. like ending myself in your hands..."
Hearing her words-so deep and filled with pain-Samrat fell silent for a moment.
"Don't say that..."
he whispered.
Then he gently placed his index finger on her trembling lips-stopping her from saying anything more.
"Shhh... don't talk about death, Vaidehi.
In my eyes, you shouldn't see death... you should see madness-madness that exists only for you. We're meant to live together... and even if we die, we'll die in each other's arms. So don't look for your end in my eyes... find your world in them."
The intensity and obsession in his voice sent a shiver through her entire body.
Slowly, Samrat removed his finger from her lips and held her face in both his hands. He was so close that their noses lightly brushed against each other.
Vaidehi gently closed her eyes... then leaned closer, resting her face near his neck, breathing in his scent-as if she wanted to hold on to that feeling forever.
Now, she couldn't stop herself. She wrapped her arms around his broad shoulders. The warmth of his skin both unsettled her... and comforted her at the same time.
Blushing slightly, Vaidehi asked in a soft voice,
"Why... why do you always hold me like this... here?" she gestured toward his chest. "As if I'll disappear if you let go... what is it about this place?"
Samrat looked at her deeply-his gaze fixed directly on her beating heart. His voice turned heavier.
"Do you know why...?
Because this is where your heart beats... and that heartbeat belongs to me."
He leaned even closer.
"I feel you the most when I hold you like this... when I keep you here, it feels like you're completely mine... your heartbeat, your fear, your innocence... I like all of it."
With a faint smile, he added,
"I want... with every breath you take, you feel me."
Hearing this, Vaidehi's face flushed with a mix of shyness and something she couldn't quite understand. She looked into his eyes-now filled with nothing but possessive intensity.
This time, Vaidehi didn't pull away. Instead, she leaned forward slightly and brushed her lips against his-a small but deep kiss.
It was her answer... a form of surrender.
A spark seemed to ignite in Samrat's eyes. He pulled her even closer. Outside, the storm had grown fiercer-hailstones striking violently against the windows... but inside the room, the atmosphere had become even more intense.
Leaning near her ear, Samrat spoke in a low, heavy voice-
"Now... you have no idea what you just did..."
"You tried to play with fire today, Vaidehi...
and now, we both will burn in it."
His voice turned darker, more dangerous.
"Remember this... you are my obsession-the one thing I could fight even God for.
.. and even shake hands with the devil. If the world tries to take you away from me.
.. I'll burn this entire world down."Vaidehi, sobbing softly, buried her face in his chest and whispered,
"You're very frightening, Samrat.
.. but without you, I can't even breathe.
.. just keep me like this in your arms..
. even if death is standing outside... or even if you yourself become death. .."
Samrat smiled faintly. His hand moved toward the strings of her dress, and he whispered slowly-
"Death outside... I've already stopped it at the door, jaan... inside, it's just me... you... and this night."
In the dark room, thunder echoed loudly. Outside, the storm raged... and inside, Samrat's obsession and Vaidehi's helplessness were slowly blending into one another.
Every touch of Samrat seemed to speak a truth-there was no way back for Vaidehi now. She had stepped into his golden cage... a place from which the only escape was through his heart.
The night grew deeper. Outside, the rain kept falling... and inside, the distance between them kept fading.
Samrat felt no regret for Ayush's death. In fact... he felt a strange satisfaction that the same fear had brought Vaidehi completely closer to him.
Leaning very close to her, he whispered softly-
"You are mine, Vaidehi... only mine."
His words lingered in the room like an echo of the night.
---
Outside, nature was showing its most dangerous form. The falling rain had turned into hailstones, striking the roof of the taxi like rocks. The road was eerily silent... only the sound of the wipers and the storm filled the air.
On the back seat of the taxi sat the girl-the same one Samrat had promised to let go. She was trembling badly. Her face had turned pale, and her forehead was drenched in sweat. She held both her hands over her stomach, as if trying to protect the life growing inside her from every danger.
She kept looking back again and again... terrified that the masked man might still be following her.
In a shaking voice, she pleaded with the driver,
"Bhaiya... please drive faster! It's taking too long to reach the airport... I just want to get away from this city... from this country... please, increase the speed!"
The driver glanced at her through the rear-view mirror and replied bluntly,
"Madam, look outside... there's a massive storm. Trees are falling, the road isn't even visible... how can I drive faster like this? Don't you value your life?"
Tears streamed down her face. She begged,
"Please try... my life is in danger... I don't have much time. I'll pay you double... just get me there."
The driver didn't respond... but suddenly, he increased the speed of the car.
For a moment, the girl felt a little relieved... but in the very next second, her heart sank.
Instead of heading toward the airport, the car turned toward a deserted, half-constructed overpass.
"Bhaiya! Where are you going? This isn't the way to the airport!"
she shouted in panic.
Suddenly, the driver slammed the brakes. The car screeched to a halt.
Before she could understand anything, the driver opened the door and ran out.
The girl looked ahead... and her scream got stuck in her throat.
A massive truck was speeding straight toward her. Its headlights were blinding-like the glowing eyes of a monster rushing in to devour her.Her eyes were blinded by the harsh glare. In panic, she placed her hand over her stomach... and tightly shut her eyes.
Crash!!!
A deafening explosion echoed. Metal collided with metal... and the taxi was thrown into the air, flipping multiple times before crashing onto the side of the road.
The girl was flung out through the shattered window. Her body lay on the cold, wet road... completely helpless.
Blood streamed from her head... mixing with the rainwater.
But her hand was still resting over her stomach...
She writhed in pain-pain that wasn't just tearing through her body, but through her very soul.
From her fading vision, a final tear slipped down.
With her breaking breaths, she whispered within her heart-
"I left my home.
.. my family... everything... just for love.
And that same love left me alone... now my child is gone.
.. and so am I... all my dreams ended in a moment.
.. my happiness... I want to live... I don't want to die. .. someone please save me..."
But death gave her no chance.
Her fingers slowly went limp... and the light in her eyes faded away forever. On the other side, in Samrat's villa, there was an eerie silence-one that was both comforting and unsettling.
Hailstones kept striking against the bedroom window... but inside, the atmosphere was completely different.
Vaidehi was fast asleep. Her innocent face rested against Samrat's chest. Her scattered hair was tangled in his fingers... and he was gently running his hand through them.
Samrat looked at her as if she were something incredibly precious... something he had fought the entire world to claim.
Just then, his phone screen lit up in the darkness. Without making a sound, he picked it up.
A message appeared-
"The job is done. The girl is dead. No evidence left."
A cold, dangerous smile formed on Samrat's lips. He silenced the phone and set it aside.
He pulled Vaidehi even closer into his arms... as if he never wanted to lose her again.
Vaidehi stirred slightly in her sleep and snuggled closer to him.
Samrat kissed her forehead and whispered softly-
"You have no idea, Vaidehi... but I died a long time ago..."
His voice grew deeper-
"The day I first saw those innocent eyes of yours... that was the day I saw my own end. People say I'm alive... but the truth is, I only exist for you."
He smiled faintly while looking at her-
"I'm crazy for you... beyond anything you can even imagine..."
There was no lust in his eyes... only a dangerous obsession. The kind of obsession that can either turn a man into a god... or a monster.
He played with her hair like a child holding onto their most favorite toy... but the price behind this attachment... was far too high.
Innocent Vaidehi had no idea that the chest she was resting on so peacefully... carried a darkness capable of taking lives just to possess her. She didn't know that Samrat's love wasn't a flower... but a burning ember.
Samrat buried his face near her neck and closed his eyes, whispering softly-
"Three murders... just for you..."
His voice was low, yet chilling-
"I've taken three lives... just to remove every obstacle between us. These hands... already stained with blood... only to keep you safe."
He tightened his hold around her even more-
"And if needed... I'll destroy this whole world... but I won't let even a shadow touch you."
His grip was so strong that even in her sleep, she seemed to feel it.
Outside, the storm still hadn't calmed... and inside, Samrat's obsession had crossed every limit.
Vaidehi was sleeping-believing she was safe.
And Samrat was awake-knowing he had bound her forever in the prison of his dangerous love.
Fifteen years of waiting... three dead bodies... and an unbreakable obsession-
Samrat's "love" was finally reaching its completion... no matter the cost.
