28. Silas

Silas

Dear Persephone,

So many years of solitude have borne their fruit, for what you bring into my life, goddess, is pure bloom and vitality.

I watch you on the day of our union, our wedding, as you move among the guests with graceful, joyful, and picturesque motions. You saturate my senses with your beauty; you shine like no one else in a verdant field. You smile, and I must confess that I fantasize about being the creator of your happiness.

It is my greatest longing to make you happy in my realm.

You look at me with wary eyes because I’ve stepped away for a few moments to write these words that seem distant. They sound intrusive in my mind because I never believed I would feel this way. It is so new, overwhelming, and perfect that sometimes I think Morpheus is playing tricks on me.

Believe me, goddess, I will never forget your forgiveness, nor your kindness, nor will I ever take advantage of it. Not even on my knees can I make amends, nor express my gratitude for your light.

I have finally persuade you: you live with me, you sleep in my arms, and you allow me to cherish your springs with my cold heart.

Only you can thaw me.

I am yours forever, goddess; remember, this god will not forget.

Here you come, dancing among the flowers, concerned for me as always, you alone care for me.

You are my mistress, and I am your humble servant.

I love you, goddess, I love you with all that I am.

Hades.
