Chapter Ten
Myles
When everyone arrived back from the Vancouver docks, they scattered as they prepared for the next scene—Lyric and Justice in bed. They did that periodically. When they weren’t genuinely trying to kill each other.
Since the vase wasn’t required in that scene, Hallsy stayed in the props room.
When shooting ended, I booted over to the cafeteria where I secured two sandwiches, as well as some chili, and then headed back.
Hallsy sat at the table with his hand protectively on the box.
Sally winked at me as she pranced out of the room.
Yep, she pranced. Like she was telling me to have my wicked way with him.
I regretted my stupid admission that I’d known we’d be alone—and had clearly therefore planned to drag him to the little dressing room and jump his bones.
Have my wicked way with him. Dislodge the stick that was forever stuck up his ass.
I’d even dusted and cleaned the room ahead of time because I liked to plan things whenever I could.
Hallsy might think I was all about spontaneity—and that was sort of true—but I liked to plan out fucking locations in advance so I could be as comfortable as possible
I placed the food before him and, as I had the day he got the bad news, sat on the table next to him. I dug into my chili, pleased to find him doing the same. After a couple of mouthfuls, I ventured, “You really didn't mean it when you said you were going to shoot me, did you?”
He didn’t meet my gaze. “Maybe.” He spun his spoon in the chili. “I was a little stressed.”
I hummed. “Well, thank you for not shooting me. Or Sally.” I bit my lower lip. “I would like to get to know you when you're not stressed. Like, what do you wear when you're lounging around at home?”
After a moment, he met my gaze. And rolled his eyes. “Jeans. T-shirt.”
I was grateful he’d give me that much. Not a big secret or anything. I sagged a little, as if a deflated balloon. “I betcha they're black.” I sat up a little straighter with that, confident in my assertion.
He shrugged. “I'm colorblind—black goes with black in my world.”
“Oh my God. You mean you can't see the wonderful pink colour of my flamingo shirt?” I was truly horrified, with my mouth hanging open and my eyes wide.
Again, he shrugged. “All I know is I can't tell the difference between peach, pink, and yellow very easily...well, specifically blue and yellow, but peach and pink look the same to me as well.”
I gasped as my heart filled with joy. “Oh my god, you listened to me. You remembered!”
He rolled his eyes as if wondering what the big deal was—clear as day that he had no idea the significance of his words. “I, uh, like watching you.”
I bit my lower lip—trying to be as sexy as I could. My cock sat up and took notice, and apparently, so did his “Would you like me to come over to your house tonight and you can watch me some more? Maybe watch me as I suck you off?” My balls tingled at the thought.
“Don’t you, like, have four rescue cats?”
After a fraction of a second, I pressed my hand to my chest. “You remembered my babies as well?”
“What, Fluffy, Jodhpur, Claud, and little Luigi?” He shrugged. “Hard to forget that.”
I nodded.
He cleared his throat. “We could stop off at your place first.”
After a moment’s consideration, I waved him off.
“My neighbor Dani will feed them tonight if I ask. She owes me a favor because I took care of her cat when she needed a break and went to visit her parents out in Chilliwack.” After that bitch Liv dumped her and she needed to get away from the memories.
“Uh…”
“So I’m taking that as a yes.” I shoveled down another mouthful of chili.
He pushed off his chair and insinuated himself between my thighs.
I slowly swallowed and then grinned.
He bent his head while I arched my neck back. He kissed me and I kissed him right back.
Oh my God, this is perfect. All is right in the world.
Well, until Sally noisily barged into the room.
