11. Juelz
Zelan and I were sitting across from Santiago Vega, he arrived in New York this morning.
“So, tell me all you know about Ramone being your father?” Santiago asked.
“Well, we were only told that he was our father, nothing more than that,” I stated.
“This gentleman is Dr. Jaminez he has been a long-time friend of mine, and a prominent doctor. If you would like to take the time to review his medical intelligence, please do so now. He is here to test the three of us, and we will have the results later today,” Santiago said, and me and Zelan looked at each other.
Jeff was in the room with us also and was already researching Dr. Samuel Jaminez.
Jeff nodded his head giving me the ok, to go ahead and proceed.
“We are good to go,” I responded to Santiago. We all stood and did as the doctor asked Santiago decided to go first, and then Zelan, and I followed. Once we were all finish with the DNA process, we agreed to meet later to discuss the results.
“I guess this will give us all the answers we have been low-key looking for,” Zelan said.
“Yeah, I guess it will,” I responded looking out the window at the landscaping of this house. I had so many memories here good, and bad but I was ready to make all good new memories with my beautiful woman and children.
“Did you see the amount of security that nigga had, damn I thought our shit was crazy, but his shit was damn insane,” Zelan stated.
“Bruh, when you got that much power, and money that is how you can live. That man is crazy powerful, and rich. He makes my bank account look like we are struggling,” I told him.
“I don’t want to be that kinda rich fuck that, more money more muthafuckin problems. I’m cool with my millions.
I don’t think I want to be a billionaire.
Look at all the shit you going through. Every time I get to nine hundred, and ninety-nine million, as soon as I make that extra million, I’m giving that shit to Kari, and the babies.
Fuck that, and when I have kids all the kids will go in rotation,” Zelan said with his face scrunched up.
I just looked at this damn fool and shook my head; this simple nigga was serious about that shit.
“You know after we deal with all this shit, I want to have Ciera a baby shower at the club. I’m going to have Ari put it all together and hire her a planner to help,” I said to Zelan.
“That sounds really good Ci needs to be in her happy place, enjoying her pregnancy. I know when Ari get pregnant, she better hope I let her ass walk. That’s my muthafuckin queen right there, she gives a nigga some kids, man I’m straight marrying her ass,” Zelan said.
“I feel you bruh, I feel the same way.” I never thought I would hear that shit coming from him or me. My phone was ringing, and I looked at it and answered, placing it on speaker.
“What’s up beautiful woman?” I stated.
“Boy what the hell you doing?” Ma Lai asked.
“What you want lady?” Zelan said.
“Zelan, why the hell you didn’t answer my call earlier?” Lai yelled.
“Ma, we have been busy, what you got going on?” Zelan asked.
“I need y’all to come take this ride with me. I heard on the streets that ole boy Mark, has a brother that is going around telling people I hit him up.”
“Say word, we will handle it tonight,” Zelan stated.
“Alright, make sure y’all call Meek, I want him to come to. This shit is going to be fun,” Lai said ending the call.
“That lady. Man, she is for real a gangsta. We should have put her on our team,” I said to Zelan.
“Nigga what you talking about? We need to ask if we can be on her damn team. She let me in the gang bang crew after we came down on you, you better do a good job or you not getting in,” Zelan said with his dumb ass.
Ciera didn’t want to step foot in this house because Kenya had been living here nor did she want Kari back here.
I have to say I couldn’t blame her, and because she felt the way she did is the reason I decided to sale the place.
I would do anything for her comfort and safety.
I was sitting in my office, and my phone started ringing. When I looked at it, it was one of the burner phones that I gave to Rock.
“Yeah,” I answered placing the call on speaker.
“Can I speak to Mr. Juelz?” The kid spoke, and my heart dropped because I knew that it was Haven. I stood from my chair and headed for the door.
“Haven, are you in the bunker?” I asked him. Because I knew the protocol, and the only way he would have this phone is if his dad gave it to him.
“Yes, sir. I think my daddy is hurt,” he cried.
“I’m coming to get you right now. Sit tight, and don’t make a sound until I get there. Okay?”
“Okay,” he whispered and I prayed like hell that Rock was alright.
My gut was telling me something different.
I grabbed my security team, and we were headed to my safehouse.
I called Zelan and Meek so that they could meet me there.
It took about forty-five minutes to get there because it was in a secluded area.
I just spoke to Rock yesterday around eight and everything was good.
I didn’t call to check on him today, and I feel fucked up about it.
I had some security out there with him, so I didn’t worry as much.
I’ve been going through so much that I haven’t been thinking straight.
When we pulled up to the safehouse, and I saw one of my guards stretched out on the porch, we were on high alert.
My team moved into the house, and we had found my other guard dead.
When we searched the house Rock wasn’t in there, so we headed out back.
Rock was lying on the ground and his body was riddled with bullets.
“Fuckkkkkkk!” I roared.
“Damn, man! This some fucked up shit! We need to find Mazio! Ain’t no way this man is hiding like this and we can’t find him,” Zelan said, and I agreed. I was hurt like hell and on a rampage behind my friend. That was my fuckin’ brother and he didn’t deserve this shit.
I knew Haven was in the bunker. Meek pulled the door open, and keyed in the code. The moment we walked down the stairs, Haven was sitting there rocking back and forth. This kid was so scared.
“I got you man. I promise I got you for life,” I said to him.
My mind was really fucked up after everything that had happened.
From Xavier and Kenya to the newfound bullshit with Rock.
I wished my homie would open up to me sooner.
I did everything I could to protect him, and now I was sitting there trying to figure out where the hell everything went wrong.
Zelan, Meek, and I were on our way to see somebody we'd known for years.
There were very few people I trusted with my life.
Even less than I'd trusted with my family's lives if something ever happened to me. Bianca was one of those people.
Haven was sitting between Zelan and me in the truck.
The poor kid hadn't said much since we left.
He looked lost and completely shaken by everything that had happened.
My heart hurt for him. In the blink of an eye, he lost his mom and his dad.
Life was unfair as hell. I prayed that none of my kids would ever have to experience this kind of pain.
I glanced over at him and rested my hand on his shoulder.
“You gon’ be alright, lil' man. I promise,” I said to him and he nodded. I made a promise to his Pop that I would always be there for him if anything happened. I'ma live up to that promise. This kid won’t have to want for anything.
“I want to know what the fuck happened,” I gritted. “That safe house was completely off the grid. Nobody knew about it except us. So how the fuck did Mazio and his people find it?”
“I got that answer, Boss,” Jeff finally spoke up from the driver's seat.
“Let’s talk about it in a minute,” I told him. I didn't want Haven to hear anything about his father's death not right now anyway.
The truck rolled to a stop in front of Bianca's house. We got out and walked up the driveway.
Before I could knock, the front door swung open.
“There y'all are,” Bianca smiled. “It's always good to see my boys.”
She hugged each of us before her attention shifted to Haven.
“Oh, well, who do we have here?” She asked with a smile.
She knelt down until she was eye level with him.
“Hi, sweetheart. I'm Mama B.”
Haven looked at me for before looking back at her.
“Hi,” he spoke.
“Well, come on inside. From this moment on, this is your home too. Ain't nobody gonna hurt you here.” He smiled, and for the first time, his spirit lifted just a little.
Bianca is going to take Haven in and raise him.
We both decided she was the safest place for him.
Mama B’s connections were long, and her security was even longer.
When Jeff told me that one of the guards, Vince, was the one who had leaked his location, I wanted to go back and kill that nigga again.
A muthafucka would do anything for money.
By the time I made it home, the sun was coming up, and I knew Ciera would be up soon.
I decided to have the chef make us some breakfast so that I could eat with my beautiful lady, and then I would get some much-needed rest.
