“Babe, are you comfortable?”
“Yeah, can you get me some more ice chips?” Ari groggily stated, just as Juelz and Ci rushed in the room.
“Awww sis, it’s time to have the babyyy!” Ci stated excitedly.
“I’m ready to meet her,” Ari told Ciera and they both started crying.
“Babe, you can’t be getting all stressed out,” I reminded her.
“Grams has made it, and should be here soon. Ma Simone and Tony are on their way as well,” Ciera told us, and Ari was relieved she really wanted her grandmother here with us.
Ari was having contractions and she could still feel them even after they gave her the medicine.
The nurse came in and told us that she was dilating fast, and that they were going to call the doctor.
They said the baby was already in position.
My wife was everything to me, she was my damn entire heart.
Her sitting here getting ready to have my daughter just did something to me.
Watching her go through the motions made me love and respect her more than I ever have.
I called Meek and Toya because they were the babies godparents.
They both said they were on the way. Tiana was being born into the best family a child could ever have.
“What’s up, everybody?” Meek said when he walked in the room.
I stood and gave him a brotherly hug, and so did Ju.
Meek leaned down and kissed Ari on the cheek, and she smiled at him.
About ten minutes later, Toya and Grams walked in, and Ari was so happy she said she was ready to have our baby now.
The doctor walked in saying that she wanted to check Ari out.
Juelz and Meek stood outside the door. I told my brother I wanted him by the door just as he allowed for me to hear my niece, and nephew being born. Fuck going to the waiting room.
“Ok, Ari, it’s time to push this baby girl out. On your next contraction, I want you to push. Here we go. Push Ari!” Dr. Mason yelled out, and my wife pushed as hard as she could.
“Good job, baby,” I whispered, rubbing her hair.
“Zelan, I’m not giving you no more babies!” Ari yelled, as she pushed again.
“Girl, stop being a punk, and push my grandbaby out,” Ma Lai said, laughing, just as my mom walked in the room. I was glad she made it just in time to see her granddaughter enter the world.
“Ari, push!” the doctor stated, and Ari pushed as if her life depended on it and my baby was half way out.
“Push. Push. Push,” the nurse, and doctor yelled, and Ari pushed until she was out of breath, but my baby was out and crying at the top of her lungs.
My daughter was here, and my wife just cried, and I cried with her.
I cut the cord, and they cleaned Tiana up, and laid her on Ari’s chest. We kissed our baby girl and told her we loved her.
Ciera, Grams, and my mother were taking so many pictures I didn’t have to.
“Ohhhh my goodness, this baby is so freaking beautiful, Ari! She looks like me, you, and Grams. She has so much hair, and those signature gray eyes,” Ciera said.
What she said was indeed true, Tiana looked just like them and she was beautiful.
Everything was right in the world. Our daughter was healthy, and my wife was alright.
My heart was indeed full, and I was in-love with my daughter and my wife.
Life was great! There is nothing more that I need or wanted.
I got my happy ending, I think we all did.
The End!
