Chapter 1 #3
Rose peeped the closeness with them, and he heard through the grapevine that they were keeping company with one another.
She wasn’t his woman though, so there was nothing he could say about it.
Minx laughed, and Gannon kissed her neck and cheek before she straightened up and her eyes landed on Rose.
He poured himself another drink and settled beside them in the booth.
“Boy, hush. That wasn’t shit. Let me get a few more drinks in me.” Minx snickered and leaned forward.
She remained perched on Gannon’s lap and grabbed his glass off the table to sip.
“Sooo… Rose… where the hell you been? And why didn’t you keep in touch like you said you would?
I heard from you maybe three times in the last year.
What’s up with that?” Minx was feeling herself, getting in his face boldly.
She had really grown into a pretty ass girl.
He noticed the little scar on her forehead, right above her right eye.
Flashes of the day she received it played in his head.
She tossed back her drink, and her smile widened.
Now a full-fledged woman, he admired every part of her.
Rose had good reason not to be around her.
Right before he left, he found himself catching feelings that went beyond friendship.
He wouldn’t dare cross that line with her and have to look Max in his face.
That was a violation after everything he’d done for him.
“Shit… you actin’ like you missed me or something.” He brought his hands together in front of him.
Minx turned her nose up, and tipped her head before assessing him. He sure was fine as hell now. That shit was annoying. He’d never been bad to look at, but maybe his absence had made the heart grow fonder.
“I ain’t here to talk about that shit. I’m home, and that’s all that matters.”
“What you mean, acting like I missed you? Oh, so you acting brand new today!” Minx snapped, turning her nose up.
“Don’t get to showing yo’ ass in here, Minx.” Rose guzzled his drink.
When he spoke, he seemed more focused on her than anyone.
He always knew when she hit that full bloom, niggas wouldn’t know how to act.
She was probably the fantasy of many men these days.
Sitting back, he sipped his drink, entertained by the little hoes that flocked to their section.
It was natural. Wherever there was money and alcohol, the hoes would come.
Everyone knew Gannon once owned the place, and his crew was full of nothing but niggas who got money.
Finn was ready for action, but that was just Finn. He loved women of all shapes and sizes.
Lit even after dancing until two in the morning, Luna and Minx were ready to put food on their stomachs.
Gannon had to stick around the club and help the new owner’s daughter get things straight for closing.
She was new to the shit and seemed to appreciate his assistance and the attention he gave her.
With him transitioning out of ownership, he was often asked to help with things.
“G, I need you.” Cretia Stillwell, stood off to the side, watching him with his guests.
For the last ten minutes, she hovered, surveying him with his circle of friends and Minx.
She thought Gannon was so much more than the people he hang around.
If only he could see himself that way. Minx mugged Cretia from her seat and hated how Gannon jumped when this bitch said so.
She didn’t like that bitch. Everything about her bothered her.
From her big, round ass brown eyes, to the long, crafted nose on her face.
Her lips had that overly injected look to them, like she’d been sucking dick all her life.
A walking fucking Barbie doll, down to the tight ass waist and stupid large ass she carried around behind her.
If she was going for a natural look, she failed.
Gannon knelt over and kissed Minx on the cheek gently, his cologne lingering over her.
Locking eyes for a second, Minx narrowed her gaze past him at Cretia.
Bitch was standing there as if he wasn’t supposed to keep her waiting or something. Minx stood beside him.
“I’ll hit you when I close up.” Gannon said to her.
Minx didn’t respond at first.
“No, let me walk you over to Cretia, babe.” She looped her arm through his, and Gannon tightened up beside her.
“Minx—”
“Come on. I’d love to say hi,” she encouraged with false enthusiasm.
Tugging Gannon along, the couple paused where Cretia stood.
Scoffing lightly, she canvassed Minx from head to toe.
Minx felt G go rigid beside her, but she didn’t think nothing of it, other than him not wanting to be embarrassed.
Because there was no fucking way he would fuck with a peasant when he had her on his arm. Minx was sure that wasn’t it.
“What’s good, Minx?” Cretia tucked some of her blunt-cut bob behind one ear and suddenly got humble with her in her face.
“Nothing much,” Minx replied, facing her man. “Don’t forget to call me.” She placed her lips over his, making sure Cretia got a full, up-close view of her hemming her man up.
When they parted, Gannon stared into Minx’s eyes and grabbed a handful of her ass for a tight squeeze.
“A’ight, be safe.” He bit into his bottom lip and watched her walk back over to join her group.
